I know a fancier here in the UK which uses sand in their loft, he goes in once a week shovels it up and puts in circular sieve 18 inch diameter with 1/4inch holes and sieves it, then puts the sand back minus the crap he gets no wet spots in his loft

Thank you for sharing. I have sieved before. I should probably get back into it. Thank you for watching.

@@burakloft568 it's good too see how other people keep their birds, was particularly interested in hearing why fanciers there pull flights from the young birds, here they use the darkness system, its basically tricking the birds into thinking its fall so start the moult so by the time it's time for the young bird season they have dropped their juvenile flights and regrow new ones, here the yearlings and old bird season starts usually last Saturday in April with a 60 race the series is usually 12 for old birds and yearling and they will be racing out too 600 miles, the young bird race start usually 3rd weekend in July with races starting at 60 miles and consist of 8 races and will normally finish racing for the season in September with a race of 200 miles

@@burakloft568 there used to be races here called the Barcelona club and you had regional marking stations and clocking stations but since the UK left the European we can't send them across, its the same for our national championship races which were flown from tarbes and nantes In France we can't send them, so they go too the 2 channel islands which are Jersey and Guernsey, and North into Scotland and race from Thurso and wick or Aberdeen

Good morning sir. Good video I have been thinking about sand for about 6 months now. I have been using corn cob for the last few years. It works very well the only problem is you have to remove all of it when you cleaned. Which made lots of garbage bags every week. So I watched your video yesterday and I was motivated and in my loft till 9 p.m. last night scraping floors. Today I'm going to go buy some sand. I will give it a try. I think it will cut down on my amount of waste. Thank you for sharing.

You are welcome. You have let me know how it turns out. I was thinking maybe using some corn cob bedding on the really heavy spots where they poop a lot like underneath the purchase. But I don’t have any at this time to try. Can you tell me where you bought yours at? If you want to email me or leave a comment below at jburak3641@gmail.com

Nice job. I used to have sand down on the bottom of my loft but I got tired of cleaning it. I’m thinking about going with the corn cob bedding. I put down pine cedar bedding but I don’t care too much for that.

I probably should sift out the dropping. I have done it few times. But most of time I just rack it and put into my garden. I do use touch to kill any Bacteria left behind
