The England version of Gelish is Gelish. That Arte Clavo stuff is not Gelish, it's an off brand copying Gelish's old packaging. Gelish colors all have names.
Gelaze is so good! It polishes really nicely, it only needs one minute in LED light, the colors are amazing and it stays gorgeous without any chipping for 3 weeks. A real go to for vacations!
In my own experience, I use Gelish and I can say they last 3 weeks for almost all of my clients, but for some reason that I don’t know yet Gelish didn’t last more than one week on my mom. Each hand and fingers are different, depends on how oily their fingers are around the cuticle. Also, China Gelaze lasts very good on other clients. So every gels life is always different on every hand
I loved your reviews on the top and base coats! I do my own dip powder nails at home but have been looking into gel mani's because I love how glossy they look! Thanks for sharing
What do you think of the gelish top coat??? I just ordered it but now I am thinking it might not be as good ahhh! Do you prefer VSHINE or gelish top coat?
Gelaze is one of my top faves. Her review is all over the place. Calling gelpolish “gelish”. Saying her favorite of all time is sensationail lol idk man idk
@wezile msomi No I use acrylic to strengthen the nail with a few layers but I don’t buff the acrylic at the end as the gel won’t have any thing grip to when I cure it 😊😊😊
I feel like your wrinkling issue is more of a curing or thickness issue. I notice this on swatches sometimes just because I forget which one I'm doing.
I'm wondering what wattage your lamp is that it takes 10 minutes to cure. I used to use a Gelish lamp for years. Then I started to notice that it was taking longer to cure, that I was getting wrinkles after applying the top coat and my matte top coat would wipe off about half of the nail when I wiped off the inhibition layer. I then looked at it carefully (I didn't before, just started using it) and found it was 9W with only 3 diodes. Most gel polishes now need a minimum of 34W and some as high as 48W/54W. I would check your Gelish lamp to see if you have the same issue. Got a new lamp with 36 diodes that's 54W, guaranteed to cure any gel polish currently on the market in 60 seconds or less. The more pigmented the polish gets, the stronger the lamp needs to be, or the longer you have to leave it in a lower wattage lamp in order for it to fully cure. Sorry that was long, but hope it helps.
"Gelpolish" is _NOT_ the "England version" of Gelish. I hope you're not telling your clients that! It's a Chinese dupe. Not saying it's bad but you really should be careful what you say when you're licensed.
I never said that, nor do I tell my clients that. Arte Clavo is a brand that Gelpolish makes partnerships with. Arte Clavo is written on the side of some Gelpolish bottles, and I was informed that, that particular brand originally manufactured its products in England (now it's manufactured in China).
By “England version” is that the U.K. version? What about Born Pretty? I have found base and No Wipe top coats the best so far. Also,I find Sensationail colours are watery, and need to apply at least 4 coats to get a solid colour!
@@lourdesbaby964 I meant that the U.K. was the first to manufacture them, then China went onto mass production with the brand. With Born Pretty gels, I find them as a hit or miss. As a whole, the gels are not the best (as the glittery ones chip faster from my past experience) However, there are some great creams that have lasted me as long 2-3 weeks. If I know a color is going to be sheer, adding a thin white gel color on top of the base coat will only require 1-2 coats of the color. Hope this helps:)
Hello I have a question I just started doing nails and I do them on my self and I notice they crack like literally that same day, I noticed only on manicures Do you have any idea on why Is there something I should try different It’s only some fingers not all of them I tried a new top coat and still cracks
I'm sorry to hear that. A lot of the time shrinking and cracking would occur for one of 3 reasons: The base/top coat does not have the same formulation as your colored coats, the nail is not full dried/cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol before application, or you need different gel polishes. For example, Madam Glams works amazing on me and my client's toes;however, it chips quickly on my fingernails. On the other hand Sensationail and CND last several weeks on my finger nails. If any of this does not work. Powders and gels tend to stay on long with extensions or polgels. I hope this helps:)
Also sometimes the top is dried but the underneath might not be dried yet causing the cracking and wrinkling within the first 48/72hours. If that's the issue you should let them cure under the light longer or try much thinner coats(not that u might not be). I really hope this helps.
Ever Glaze is not gel polish...it is "gel like" nail polish. Meaning its regular polish but it's supposedly super shiny. And that's not the real Gelish base coat. That bottle shape is no longer utilized.
@@vxBunBun the ones that say "gelpolish" are a knock off of the actual "gelish" brand. they still work great and they're cheaper. i just got some from amazon.
No problem! I'd suggest that for a true red color: In Madam Glam, Amour is the truest red. For Gelish, it would be Put on your Dancin' Shoes. Both of these reds are cremes and they have blue undertones. I hope the mani goes well!
Thank you for this video. So is Madam glam nail polish also one of your favorites? I know you said the based coat is your favorite but you were also talking really good about the actual polish. I will start doing nails...and have no clue yet what to buy since I'm new to nails..please clarify for me that..thank you and great job at making things easier for new beginners. ❤❤
That's a great question! I do not use that technique nor do I know any nail techs who use that method either. Gel best adheres to a buffed, natural nail. I typically apply a strengthener after a gel, shellac, powder, or acrylic set is taken off. After 3-5 days I will then take off the strengthener and apply a fresh set;however, that is simply a personal preference.
Yes. You can use regular polish with gel. It's important to make sure the gel base coat and the gel color(such as white) are cured. Then, you can add any desired nail polish color on top. The key is to let it air dry for 30 minutes before adding a gel top coat:)
I found out that there is no amazingly priced, great working starter kit. If you are looking for a kit with good instructions, good polishes, and a decent LED lamp, Sensationail starter kit is a good kit with long lasting polishes. I suggest buying a nail lamp separately, as the LED lamp that comes with kit is a low wattage. Hope this helps:)
@@gabbylopez5137 You can use different brands. The majority of the gels have the same components so they work well together across brands. Same with acrylic powders and resins (glue).

Just started doing gel polish on my nails I have the OPI top coat and I was wondering if I can use different brands of gel color polish with the OPI gel top coat? And also what lamp would be best to cure the gel polish
Yes you can. Not all gel top coats will work best with certain brands;however, I've been using the OPI Gel top coat for years and I have only ever had an issue with it when using Bioseaweed Gel. For lamps, I do not suggest a particular brand, as what is important is the wattage. You want to get at least a 36 watt LED lamp. If you get the UV styled lamps you have replace the bulbs which is pricey.
ASP is a good gel polish. The glitters tend to be a little too chunky, so they chip faster on the nails compared to their creams. I think ASP gels have a great applicator brush, and the pigmentation for their creams are opaque and rather consistent. They last me and my clients about 2 weeks with minimal chipping / 3-4 weeks with extensions.
You just have to seal the nail, and then put that nail in the LED light for a few seconds really fast to flash cure. Then the polish stays where you put it. On the second layer, that issue doesnt happen anymore. I have many brands, cheap and not so cheap, and this happens to a lot of brands. Mostly with the more expensive brands. But again, that"s mainly on the first coat of color and it's fixable by flash curing!
