How about Prime by Logan Paul? Liver Kings Ancestral Supps? Or ANY heatlh supplement or product on the market? Here is how to tell if something is worth spending your money on.

Great video man. Spot on assessment of our drink as well.
The goal was creating something with a unique and potent actives profile, while also being mindful of solubility and taste in a carbonated RTD format.
If the primary goal is just maximum effect and enjoying a ready to drink carbonated product is not something that factors into the value proposition at all, then absolutely get either a powder or capsule formula.
If drinking something that tastes good is still appealing but the dose/price ratio is more of a concern, and having it in an RTD carbonated format is not a high priority, our flavored powder formula 'Respawn' (mentioned briefly in my video) is a more potent format of this formula with higher dosages and other ingredients, with minimal regard for solubility (comes to about $1.35 after a coupon code per serving), and serves as a solid in between option.
And then finally, if maximizing bang for the buck is the primary goal without any desire to flavor it or drink it, buying the ingredients separately in bulk and creating your own stack is what will offer the most flexibility and be the most cost effective way to get those same ingredients.
You can buy empty capsules as well and create your own Nootropic formulas at home in capsule format if toss and washing unflavored powders doesn't sound desirable.
Ultimately, wherever you fall on that spectrum should dictate which you choose, and I think this video helps elucidate that.
Supraphysiological comment
Love it! Yes I was sure the main reason for doses was simply the carbonated beverage limitation which is completely understandable, and yours really does stand above others on the market.
You've done a fantastic service to the industry to provide not just complete transparency, but variety in your offerings for the consumer to make their best informed decision - I should have mentioned respawn too!!🙏
you two sound like the nerdy PHD students that "constructively comments" on each other's papers in my lab lollll (this is a compliment)
I used to make my own pre workout using your formulas and dosages. Long story short it was more cost effective and easier to just buy your products 🤣
I will trust Derek until he releases a MPMD crypto coin 😂

I love Derek from MPMD, I would sacrifice myself just to have his supraphysiological efficacious dose of knowledge in the afterlife.
Lol that’s pathetic he’s just a podcaster just start reading the millions of free resources online and at your local library about fitness, physiology, pharmacology and bodybuilding. At the end of the day he’s a shill trying to make money selling overpriced crap you don’t need.
His stuff is garbage and it's hilarious him acting like he's an endo

Damn relax fan boy.
If an “influencer” of any type is marketing something, it just makes me want to NOT buy it even more
Good for you. But their fans will always blindly buy
I agree as far as celebrities go, since they generally wouldn't have a clue about what they are marketing. For "influencers", it depends. A good rule of thumb would be to just stay away from all of it.
But never listen to the sponsored ad-reads of course, that's just paying the bills.
I don't like influencers
idfc about influencers I care about what certificates they have, detailed ingredient list etc. I even don't use their discount codes I use the firm is own code when buying stuff because giving more money to the actual producer makes more sense for me.
Grammar go burrr
This video perfectly summarizes my love for Eugene. Simple, plain, transparent, and true to the work. The amount of encouragement and motivation we all get from youtubers like Eugene is tremendous.
Thank you! 🙏

@@MrShnazer I mean this RUclipsr is just saying to do your own research and use your brain, stop hating
Fortunately for me, no matter how much I like an “influencer”, the concept of purchasing a product endorsed or produced by an “influencer” cringes me out so much that I’m immune to any marketing they force upon me.
Works great in the investing world too. Ever see a influencer shilling a shitcoin? Just stay away and watch ppl get rekt. Never disappoints

honestly the more aggressive the marketing, especially if they use "celeberity" endorsements, the further I stay away from the product. Good products are not pushed on your face, you go to them
A good instinct. I'd also advise always having adblockers on. Makes scrolling less aggravating.

The big problem with dosages and derrick has mentioned this in his videos is that using the correct dosages while getting it to taste good at the same time is genuinely tough, a true electrolyte drink tastes pretty shit which is why i take my electrolytes with smoothies instead of drinks
Exactly what I do, don't even notice it's there!
Yeah products with a ton of electrolytes taste like vomit. Try pedialite or Gatorade electrolytes formula.

This is THE transparency we need in the fitness industry. PHENOMENAL BREAKDOWN with an unbiased POV. Also you are the ONLY content creator I’ve seen that have turned down so many brand deals that might ultimately put more food on your table and it’s truly an admirable and inspiring part of who you are as a coach! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Just hearing KSI's laugh I will never buy Prime lmao
IMO most people focus on powders way too much when there are many “free” improvements to performance that can be made. I kinda cringe to see 20yo taking like 400mg of caffeine over a day, and I think a lot of people won’t actually realize the effects of fine tuning micro nutrients until they are much more advanced and hitting all the good body habits
After doing a ton of research on his other products I realized Derek is totally legit. Still wouldn't spend a bunch on energy drinks, but his supplements seem head and shoulders over anything else on the market. For the preworkout I actually priced out all the ingredients in bulk and it would barely be any cheaper
well that can't be the case or derek is making a loss on his product... which i can guarantee he isn't.
Until they get 3rd party tested, remember the story about Turk not containing the advertising dosage?
@@rupert909 He'll have more buying power (buying in larger quantities) and thus be able to get even cheaper pricing than a consumer buying in what they consider 'bulk'.
@@simonvegas793 interesting theory!
so in the video when eugene shows the prices of all the raw active ingredients (not in bulk and at retail price) and says he could save $1-1.5 PER SERVING, by buying the raw ingredients, what do you think went wrong there? why do you think the original commenters BULK prices were so much more expensive than what was clearly showed in the video?
or i guess that's a different product and the energy drink is the one that's substantially more expensive...
What youre talking about is your “perceived” value of the supplements assuming the ingredients are important in the first place. Most of the ingredients he claims are in “efficacious” doses have either limited/negligible science around them or have non-replicated short term poor quality studies. Alpha gpc is garbage and is a great example of this. He’s not a chemist, biochemist, food scientist, or doctor. Examine is a horrible resource if you dont know how to read or parse through research. Even eugene is misrepresenting “going deeper” into the research. Derek has naturopathic doctors in his cash grab telehealth clinic. He is not looking out for you he is just a marketer.
That's what I'm starting to love about Derek's channel. He really lets you know whats going on
Not really, he only knows stuff out of scientific research on effects without putting a lot of effort on the reliability of it. Also doesn't take in on the complex biomes of the body.
Exactly, like with the turkesterone fiasco, he literally told people it probably doesn’t work and they still got mad!
I think the main takeaway is that even though Derek's drink doesn't have the heaviest dosages, you might have to have 2-3 of his drinks that day to reach the recommended efficacious dose, he's not trying to be misleading in any type of way. Even if you don't offer the greatest product imaginable, and I think Derek's drink is great, as long as people know what they are getting then there's nothing wrong being done. Also, even then his energy drink is one of the best formulated ones out there with proper effort and care put into it.
also, it's a beverage. You don't want some yahoo pounding 5 of them and having a reaction then sueing. A safe, slight needle moving beverage is much better than one pushing therapeutic doses.
@@nedaltrebor8553love the use of the term needle moving
You almost have to sell these products as part of a diet/workout plan if you want to avoid lawsuits, because then you have the customer’s attention, you can make sure you aren’t supplying them with too much, and you can make sure they understand the dangers of taking too much.
However even that may be difficult because you can’t really predict what kind of nutrients they will get from their food. So if you are providing an effective dose the customer may still overdose. Like for example, maybe they see an energy drink they want to try but it actually was a workout/health drink with a small dosage of something they were already taking and without them knowing it they overdose and start feeling side effects.
I’ve seen many vitamins on amazon with idiots that leave comments talking about them getting a side effect/symptom from using a really high dose used by medical patients that have a deficiency and need a high dose, but because most people are stupid they don’t do any research into what dosages a normal person should take.

If an "influencer" recommends something, I avoid it like the plague. It's that simple.
What if they recommend you to be fit and healthy 😂
@@IIReJeCtSII then I'm going to be deathly ill.
In terms of supplements, here is how you can spot BS: 99% of them are BS.
The only supplements that work are (1) Stacker 2 (and look what happened to it), (2) pre-workout supplements that give you a tangible energy boost, and protein supplements for convenience as it can be difficult to get a lot of protein through food.
Everything else like “Keeps” for hair loss, OTC joint supplements, any “weight loss” supplement, metabolism supplements, things like Alpha Brain and other “nootropics”, supplements for memory, etc are all total BS. Yet people spend billions on them every year.
The fact that you turned down a sponsor on camera… you’re the best of us man
Kinda easy to tell.
One will say “trust me bro”
And the other will tell you exactly why it’s good and you should buy
Unfortunately most people don't go deep or explore enough to reach the truth, these influencers will continue to make millions off selling BS. People are gullible af.
"But that doesn't matter, because he just wants to sell you shit" bahahahaha that is the best thing I've heard about Prime!
Step 1: Is Logan the crypto scanmer involved?
If yes - then you have completed the BS detection protocol.
If no - go back to step 1.
Just remember Derek’s formula he’s said several times was very hard to suspend. He’s mentioned it over the last few years that he’s working on a formula that will actually suspend. I have no doubt after his explanation that if he could put more appropriate doses he would.
I think you meant more supraphysiological doses
The only influencer branded product that is good is the George Foreman grill lol
Most energy drink buyers are only concerned about taste and caffeine and the celebrity endorsement is just a placebo for them. As long as whatever they're selling isn't any worse than the rest of the crappy energy drinks on the market, then you can't fault these influencers for trying to make a buck. If their marketing claims are lies, the courts are there to make them pay.
I took a pharmacology class at the university of Iowa and they hated hard on oxyshred lol, “energy blend” dead give away for sketch
20 years of training never had a pre-workout or energy drink , teenagers these days they need everything and still they can’t get in shape and they blame supplements .
If your drinking a preworkout of any brand your getting scammed
The supplements I take are water, meat, fruit, vegetables and sleep. That's all I've ever needed.
As a pharmaceutical science student who has research interests in bioactive compounds in supplements, I am SO happy someone made a video like this. Huge props. You nailed everything.
Hey Eugene, is it possible for you, to make a video about sleeping? Like which mattress to use, which pillow for which type of sleeping position, how much, when etc. . Or maybe put a Link into some RUclips short, where you say that it doesn’t fit into my channel, like talking about sleep, but you can give this internet article a chance instead…
Derek is based af imo. I hope him all the best in the future. Dude earns eventing he has. I'll also probably follow your channel as well lmao. Anyone who is like "You don't have to just trust me bro...." is worth listening to.
I’d love for you to do one ripping apart Prime. I can’t believe the hype on it, and we need some facts presented so our young ones can make a better decision
This is the life cycle of health / fitness channels when they get big. The inevitable “mind blowing product no one has made before” they need to sell.
Greg did it, now more plates more dates. Maybe his stuff is good but still, 0 percent chance I’m buying your overpriced energy drink. I got coffee in the pantry
Just buy whole food instead of chemicals the FDA allows to be sold as “food” and you’ll be healthy haha
The tone in which you speak is so consistent and comforting. I know that sounds weird to say, but it's nice to hear.
Agreed. I don't like how most influencers all try to be the ott WHAT'S GOING ON RUclips!? IT'S YO BOY etc etc
You like it don’t you 😏
I pretty much assume everything peddled by an influencer is a scam
I'm conflicted about Derek's new energy drink. He def established trust in the past couple of years, but Gorilla Mind has been shown to not include the dosage the label says it has.... have we forgotten already when Sika Strenght told the Turkesterone story?
i think he might have gotten ripped off by the manufacturer he partnered with, now he contract bound to promote it
Nootripics depot just made claims lol, they never shared any definite 3rd party test to back up their assertions that every one of their competitors was underdosing
You say that like the same manufacturer supplying turk to gorilla mind is also manufacturing his other products; which I guarantee isn't the case, as the chance the facility making powders or energy drinks with common and relatively cheap ingredients being the same as the one producing an obscure ectysteroid supplement is probably pretty low. Education on supply chain would help.
Sups are bs, that’s why they’re sups and being sold by a douche bag with a social media prescence and not a real company. Tbf Derrick actually said turkesterone probably doesn’t work, take it if you want, don’t expect anything. And people still got mad!?!

The fact companies dont have to post exact dosages of products is insane to me. When is the FDA going to step in?
You don't even get that in food. Why would they bother with supplements?
Do you still trust the FDA in this country?
Great video
One of my main criticisms of energy drinks and similar aside from misleading claims. Is they have too much caffiene for me personally. And even worse, not all products list how much caffiene. So it's definitely about the research and tailoring it to the person.
In Gorilla Minds energy drink it has 200 MG of Caffeine but also has Theanine and Saffron Extract to make you relaxed and calm and it does that for me doesent make me jittery

It was MPMD that actually got me in this mindset. I ditched the Optimum Nutrition brand altogether because they are just low quality and spent hours trying to source good protein and mass gainer. It's REALLY difficult to find a mass gainer that isn't absolutely trash for your health. That fact the creatine shows up as protein when testing the amount in a powder was a real eye opener. Most companies are full of bs.
Hey bro can you elaborate on ON being poor quality? Been using their whey protein in Australia and I wanna know if i'm wasting my money lol
All mass gainers are trash. Find a good base protein mix and then add your own ingredients to make your own mass gainer.
