I see stacks of Prime unsold all over the place. Costco couldn’t sell them for a long time. It tastes horrifically overly sweet and artificial. Disgusting I’ll drink Gatorade any day before I drink a Prime.

I have no idea how they have signed these large sponsorships with sports clubs - the hydration aspect of Prime is so bad compared to other hydration/sport drinks.
For some reason sports organizations don't think of their sponsors as what they actually endorse. Probably why McDonald's sponsors the Olympics or why most sports teams have at least 1 alcohol sponsor

@@Definitely_Melnyxmore sugary drinks like Gatorade and Powerade are much better for active people, those drinks are also nutritionally balanced compared to prime which isn't, in the UK we had Lucozade which is the biggest sports drink, and once prime came out they tried a no sugar version, and it was significantly worse than the original for my performance and taste.

Tbh i dont think gatorade is losing that much. 90% of Prime buyers are kids that either werent buying drinks before or very rarley bought gatorade. Prime is an example of this. They have sponsorships with companies like Coca-Cola and Pepsi(very unhealthy drinks) promoted by sports teams, see the irony. Players never drink themselves, they want money. That's why I respect Ronaldo(being a Messi fan in terms of football) he never promotes this

I am from a country where we don’t have Prime, our neighbouring countries don’t have it either, so I had to order it from a far, for like 4 € a bottle. I just wanted the bottles on the shelf, they are so simple and good looking. They are really too sweet and artificial, they lack salt, so you can’t use it as an effective sports drink, to be honest, this was the last thing I wanted to drink when I was thirsty, I had to wash it down with tap water, that’s how sweet they are :D Half the fluid or even more stayed in the bottle, I just couldn’t drink it all, it went bad after few days, weeks, so I flushed it down the drain :D But the bottles look good on the shelf, at least something good out of it :D Wouldn’t buy again.
In Johannesburg, after an initial craze where I’d heard people were selling them at around the equivalent of ~17 USD a pop to now fully stocked supermarkets (Checkers) moving at R20 that’s around 1 USD, soon they’ll struggle to give them away

She explained to me that PRIME is as AVERAGE as they come in terms of being an energy drink aka as average as gatorade, powerade etc. The only thing we are left to assume is that it sells out fast due to its marketing. Keeps you hydrated, easy on the stomach, and not that much sugar (although there still is a significant amount, just not to the same levle of Gatorade, red bull, monster, etc.)

Prime is not a scam, its just what used to be called guerilla marketing to use low cost alternative methods to get market share. Markets need disruption every once in a while or monopolies develop. The drink uses coconut water which has some health benefits, but it tastes a little weird.
