It's not necessarily as bad as it sounds. Analytical chemistry techniques have gotten incredibly sensitive. The actual amount of radionuclides is insanely low. Nature is full of them. If you want to avoid radiation, stay away from bananas and rocks and don't fly in airplanes.

Isnt it because of cooler water temperature that make this reef not bleaching? compared to the ones in Caribbean? But calling this a heathy reef really humiliate the reef we have in Indonesia
There will still be Coral reefs if the globe warms! Many islands are pretty much made of Coral from a time when the ocean was higher and the globe was warmer.
It's hard to say. Part of the issue with the current warming trend is that while temperatures have been as hot (and hotter) than we expect things to get, it's usually taken tens of thousands of years to change. We expect a great deal of warming in the next 50-100 years on top of what we've already had which, as can be seen with current coral bleaching, has already had a big impact on reefs. Will they go extinct, probably not. Will all of the coral reefs we have today be completely obliterated and gone? It seems likely that they will. The great barrier reef in Australia has already lost about half of its coral. Things are not looking good.
So much doom and gloom talk. I live right next to the pacific ocean. An island where people use chemicals and dynamites to stun fish. Fertilizer run-off is everywhere. The tied dries up most of the 1km shoreline every summer. The reefs are still alive and thriving. Nature is resilient.
"There are huge non climate effects of carbon dioxide which are overwhelmingly favorable which are not taken into account. To me that's the main issue that the earth is actually growing greener. This has been actually measured from satellites the whole earth is growing greener as a result of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. So it's increasing agricultural yields, it's increasing the forests, it's increasing all kinds of growth in the biological world and that's more important and more certain than the effects on climate." ~Freeman Dyson, Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey.

why is it that climate change that is causing sea level to drastically rise, is a bad thing ? if you look at satellite images of the coast from the 70s and images from today....the sea level is exactly the same. why do all the super rich climate change pushers keep buying multimillion dollar properties on the coast ? why do insurance companies keep insuring properties on the coast ?
Yeah looks like the oil becomes a building block. It would’ve been more informative to include how a bleached coral DOES NOT MEAN it is dead coral. Please be honest
Why do you think so? I think the only reason they mentioned the oil industry is because it's surprising that there's a coral reef located in an oil field that hasn't been destroyed.

thanks for the words of support -- much appreciated!
Really well done. This video is perfect. Thank you.

yes, its also not a tropical coral reef either
Great video! The underwater footage is a treat and the writing+narration is very engaging!
beautifully done!

Not if human pollution progresses the coral bleaching

How many 100's million years have corals been on Earth? ... and continue ro just adapt!!!
Coral isn't adapting fast enough. These corals are protected by virtue of their unique geology.
Something should be done…
