Evaluate the cosecant function with a calculator

  • 👉 Learn how to evaluate trigonometric functions using a calculator. To evaluate the trigonometric functions using a calculator, we just punch the necessary buttons on the calculator to obtain the result.
    While this may seem simple, most calculators only have sine, cosine and tangent available. Thus, we will use our knowledge of the reciprocal identities, which states that the cosecant, secant and the cotangent of an angle are respectively the reciprocal of the sine, the cosine and the tangent of the angle. We also have to know how to make the proper use of parenthesis on the calculator.

    How about arccsc? Whenever I input something as sin^-1(1/x) in my calculator, I get a MATH ERROR.

      @@zachrogers2593 Ok, hopefully this helps you. I did it on my computer's calculator, and it is as follows:
      Press 1
      Press /
      (Go to Function, select |x| ),
      enter 34,
      (Go to Trigonom, select Sin),
      make sure to press Enter to get the result.

    how to enter csc (-7.1) ? i get error i tried fraction input 1/sin (-7.1) ....mode is radians but still error

      You have to input the inverse function based on the domain restriction
