  • Stephen Skinner is an internationally acclaimed author and lecturer. He was responsible for introducing real feng shui to the West, and wrote the first 20th century English book on the subject in 1976. His first profession was that of Geography Lecturer, at what is now the University of Technology in Sydney.
    During the 1970s and 1980s he was the driving force behind Askin Publishers, producing lovely editions of classic magical works such as Agrippa's Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy and the Archidoxes of Magic by Paracelsus, several titles by Austin Osman Spare, Aleister Crowley, Dr Donald Laycock (The Enochian Dictionary) and others, all of which are now collector's items. The first of these was a huge quarter leather edition of the primary source book of Enochian magic, the True & Faithful Relation of what passed between Dr John Dee...and some Spirits. During this period he co-wrote books with Francis King, including the still popular Techniques of High Magic, which has gone through many editions since it was first released. Also with Francis King he wrote Nostradamus, following this with the best selling Millennium Prophecies.
    In the late 1990s he published and owned a number of monthly magazines such as Wining and Dining, Healthy Living, Alternatives and XL. Later in the decade he was publisher of a number of client and affinity group publications such as 050, ARP and Goldlife.
    In 1998 he was responsible for launching and publishing the first full colour magazine on feng shui, Feng Shui For Modern Living, which was distributed in 41 countries with translated editions in German and even in Chinese. At its peak the English edition sold over 121,000 audited copies per month, and Stephen was nominated at the PPA awards as UK 'Publisher of the Year' (the UK print media equivalent of the Oscars).
    In 2004 he began publishing Source Works of Ceremonial Magic with co-author David Rankine. The first title was The Practical Angel Magic of Dr. John Dee's Enochian Tables, opening the doors on real 17th century angel magic in a way never done before. This was followed by The Keys to the Gateway of Magic and then The Goetia of Dr Rudd, a complete 17th century version of the four books of the Lemegeton as used by a practising magician. He then produced a new edition of three versions of the most famous grimoire, the Key of Solomon as The Veritable Key of Solomon. More recently they deciphered and translated the Grimoire of St Cyprian, the Clavis Inferni.
    In 2006 he published The Complete Magician's Tables with tables of Magic, Kabbalistic, Angelic, Astrologic, Alchemic, Demonic, Geomantic, Grimoire, Gematria, I Ching, Tarot, Pagan Pantheon, Plant, Perfume and Character Correspondences in more than 835 Tables, four times as many tables as Aleister, Crowley's Liber 777, or any other imitator.
    He was educated at Sydney University graduating in English Literature, Geography and Ancient Greek Philosophy. His interests include feng shui, ancient civilisations, geometry, travel, computers, magic and the Middle Ages. He is the author of more than 36 books published worldwide in more than 20 different languages. His books have had introductions by such diverse people as Colin Wilson, HRH Charles Prince of Wales, and Jimmy Choo shoe designer to the stars.
    He spends his time writing, teaching and researching feng shui and the Western Hermetic tradition.

    I like how this guy is calm, cool and collected about all of it. Now i am a lot more relaxed about learning it. A lot of these other magicians try to look all scary and use a scary voice its not needed just comes off as a comical fool. Definitely will be buying this guys books. You can tell hes not just some dumb guy with fangs in his mouth. If anyone knows any other guys similar to him let me know I am just getting into magicians.

      It will be a good introduction to the world of magick.

    To me, it seems that much of what people think is useless magical references should be out there for those who can make it work or understand them.
    Religion can be said to be known through magic as a combination of its art and science; which is known through the inner and outer mysteries.
    As much as technology advances, it seems that magic devolves in general.
    Enochian can be easier for some in how it can be used to categorize the subjects and cosmology the Laws of Attraction and Repulsion work on.
    Angel means different things and different beings to different people.

      From what I know from what I read, the 6 pointed (rayed) star (pentacle) is the star of the realm of intellegence, mainly of knowledge, to bring about (reveal) knowledge through awareness. So yes it can make you more aware or conscientious through hyper knowing (knowledge) than your normal self.
      You may banish the star saying that it is not for you at this time, since the Lesser banishing rite is a banishing ritual for lesser entities, mainly after a ritual ceremony or for cleansing an area for consecration. Or you may read the Greater Banishing Rite since it is for stronger/stubborn entities, a 6 pointed star entity is high up the status pyramid compared to a lesser entity. Or you can ask it to make it less hyper and more bearable at your level.
      This may also be a time to ask the 6 pointed entity to deliver your request or desire. And to bring it in a pleasant form. If your request becomes manifested after your request then you must do this after..... (to be known)......

    He didn't say what to do if people don't make careful preparations before a work and get into trouble.For instance,what if a whole bunch of rituals are performed without a circle because the person(s) don't realize you need one?.

    • @billybareblu
      @billybareblu 7 лет назад +5

      This is not a lecture on how to perform a ritual. You need to acquire the material and thoroughly study it before you begin doing them. If you're doing a whole bunch of rituals without a circle, you are obviously ignoring the instructions because that is the first part of every ritual in this genre of Magick. You might as well be asking what do I do if I jump out of an airplane without a parachute because I didn't know I needed one. Perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, the official one, not someone's knockoff version, and do it the way it's supposed to be done precisely and methodically. You can do this one over and over again without causing yourself any more damage. Once you get it down correctly it will clear your space. Then you should do it every day, and/or every time you do a ritual. If you can't dedicate to this sort of methodicism then you shouldn't be practicing this sort of Magick, or you should just expect that you are going to get yourself into trouble. Some people should just stick with candle magick and crystals.

      The LBRP has massive effect! With a properly performed LBRP you do not need to cast a circle which shows how brilliant it is. The LBRP also does not only banish - though it does that perfectly.

    • @bozny22
      @bozny22 6 лет назад +2

      Wrong on all counts. The LBRP creates a circle, in fact a sphere - so as I have already clearly stated casting a circle is not entirely necessary. What are you babylon about?
      'Neglect not the Performance of the Ritual of the Pentagram and of the Assumption of the Form of Hoor-pa-Kraat'.
      'Those who regard this ritual as a mere device to invoke or banish spirits, are unworthy to possess it. Properly understood, it is the Medicine of Metals and the Stone of the Wise'.

    • @bozny22
      @bozny22 6 лет назад

      'White clothing' - Jewish High Priests wear white linen and bath themselves on special days up to 10 times a day. You contradict your self and reveal your ineptness with your lack of knowledge. Do not think I am appeasing the Jews either but this is a known fact that white linen is a very important part of the High Priest's overall ritual with a new set having to be made each year - this white linen is only for the most important ceremonies and only for the most sacred parts when entering the Holy of Holies and on top of that the High Priest would undertake a ritual bath in between each change of garments and even after putting the new set on.

    So what really seperates science from magick except superstition and fear?

    • @TheShulg
      @TheShulg 8 лет назад +5

      measurable and repeatable results

    • @billybareblu
      @billybareblu 7 лет назад +1

      I agree with Shulg. If it isn't measurable and repeatable then it is a belief or superstition. If the practice produces measurable and repeatable results, it can be studied and practiced the same as any branch of science.

      i mean, if it is true what he is saying then it is "measurable and repeatable", and no i dont think this type of thing would work well with our "modern" 21 centurey scientist/science only a very few people even dare to talk about this in public since magic ( or magick, as some may call it ) is a very taboo subject. beside how exsactly can magic be "measurable" maybe repeatable yes, but i dont see how you can measure it ( unless you use the same system as the ancient people used ) but in the end we cant know if it works or not unless we try it ourself.

      I say physicality. We exist simultaneously in multiple planes, all the others too fine to perceive with convential senses.
      So, the magician is just like a scientist, except that he works and experiments in the high planes to achieve his goals in the lower, where as the conventional scientist is mostly concerned with effecting the material world to get results therein.
      A secular scientist is a fairly new concept, though.

      I guess you could say so.. but more a person who is very good at translating and describing the techniques used by Dr. Strange, although he uses them himself.

    • @toxendon
      @toxendon 7 лет назад

      Hard to say. Aleister Crowley and Helena Blavatsky maybe? But I think the real doctor Strange is the Graeco-Egyptian practitioners who figured out all of this and wrote it down in the first place.
