It's the ignorance they teach about economics that causes our problems.
The notion that building "wealth" is a positive thing. When it's a dog whistle for socialism. Like wealth gives you a right to socialism mailbox money.
To take out loans to buy real estate to rent back to us. In the name of "building wealth", and that causes real estate shortages.
It's economic ignorance. Very poor math.

It would not change anything. Take the money away from the rich and give it to the rest, some years later it will be back in the billionaires bags. An example of the hypocritical world we live in is on this channel. "I love your videos so much" "Never stop" "You're so great" but still this man can't earn enough money from 280k people. People talk to much and do to little. This is why people who DO (the evil billionaires and others) will become wealthy because they invent good tools, helping people. Otherwise they would not be rich.

@@leonard0104 do you really believe billionaires are that rich because they work harder than people who work two or three jobs and are smarter than the most renown scientists and engineers on the planet?
Or is it maybe a lot of initial luck, combined with having no moral qualms about exploiting everyone around you and the ability of money to acquire more money without you having to do anything?
Is Bill Gates somehow a better programmer than Linus Torvalds? Not just better but billions of times better? Or did Gates just do the immoral thing and try to monopolize the market and exploit workers while Torvalds did the moral thing and made it free for everyone to use?

@@leonard0104 You know he won't earn enough? Not all can really aford regular monetary support. Adding comments is supposed to help.
Reducing inrqualiru would help by reducing the imbalance in political control. We may need to see some realities and change our thinking along with it. A maximum wage or income could help.
The idea that converting everything that possibly can be into a concentrated personal wealth for a few people is a good thing is a big problem. It as seen as the way things should be and needs to be.
Money means merit and merit means money. A dangerous blindness comes with this.
People come to think or act as if those with the most money are simply better people when it comes to just about anything: smarter, more thoughtful, have the best things in mind, most helpful, generous.........
They have polls to show much of this. In short, people assume lots of good things about wealthy people without having nor demanding any evidence. The wealth is the only "evidence" they need.

Wealth alone isn't the problem, per se. It's the access that wealth buys - to legislators, international organizations, "thought leaders," media, and institutions (like universities) - that is the real problem. John Greene is certainly rich, but with a net worth less than 20 million dollars, his ability to shape laws, regulations, and public discourse through his money is far more modest than the ultra rich.

You are right about the billionaires being able to use their donations as tax write-offs but what a bunch of people don't get is those systems are also whats helping small business owners. There are a multitude of things that can be written off. Anyone that works for Uber knows you write-off your miles and your gas but there is a lot more that you can write-off like food, myself being an entertainer I can write-off apparel, donations, and virtually any other expense like gear or services. The other thing people do not realize is that these systems can help them too. Setting up an LLC is not the most expensive thing in the world and is something to work towards. You can have an LLC setup under your own name just as long as you get an EIN that will work with giving you tax write-offs.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't fully agree with you. Sure, the people know what they need and want, but they don't always know how to, or actually move to get what they need and want.
You mention taxation and movements, when taxation gives the money to possibly even more corrupt politicians, while movements are just common folk using their productivity time to voice out, hoping someone would listen to them, not actually using their time and effort to change something.
I respect billionaires, because they know how the world moves, and use the rules they know to achieve success. Their success stems from the service their built leading a bunch of people who wouldn't have provided such services otherwise.
While I do agree the system is rigged, giving money to the people will rig the system too, only before this it was rigged by billionaires who earned that money, now it's rigged by common folk who got that money by force from the government, who aren't guaranteed to know how to best make use of that money. Who is to say that these "people's representatives" won't be as corrupt as what we have now? Politicians we're supposed to be the "people's representatives".
I think the biggest problem is, people just aren't standing up. People complain, protest, but don't put in the action to make the change. Take MeetKevin for example. California is a mess? Become the governor and fix it. Rules are rigged by the rich? Actually learn about candidates and select the good ones, or run yourself.
The reason there's no change is because there are still too many sheep among American, who expect others to do the important things for them. Then they complain about inequality, a rigged system, etc etc.

    • @waasar
      @waasar 3 года назад +7

How is curbing unjustifiable earnings rigging the system?
People often talk about "the system" like it's a fixed set of sacred rules that magically provide the optimal results for mankind. Many people therefore perceive changing the system as something that must be negative.
Furthermore, many people seem to think of the system as inherently just, leading people to believe that the the money billionaires make has to be a fair reflection of their relative contribution.
In reality the system is just what policy makers decide it to be and it is subject to constant change.
The world's richest people make this much money not by working millions of times harder than the rest of us, but by coming up with all sorts of ways to influence policy makers to enact policies in their favour.
Governments can also be corrupted but I am not sure how that is supposed to be worse than having billionaires in power. Billionaires are definitely "corrupt" in that sense (spending money to increase their own power rather than improve general wellbeing). Billionaires are also not accountable to the people and cannot be removed from power by democratic means.
You're also implying that billionaire corporations are absolute experts at allocating money, whereas governments hardly know what they are doing. I'd argue an imperfect institution that doesn't always act in your favour is still a lot better than an imperfect institution that definitely doesn't act in your favour.

Recently just watched a video by Some More News about how Elon Musk is not your friend. I'm so tired of people idolizing him as some sort of savior when it's quite the opposite. Thank you for making this video, people really need to stop putting these billionaires on a pedestal because they just want infinite wealth and growth at the expense of anyone but themselves.

Hey man, real respect for you speaking about your regret for self-censoring for Bill Gate's book. I know that wouldn't be helpful to you on the algorithm, but it's appreciated a lot. 🤟👍
Is only Johnny Harris could do the same, which Hbomberguy made an elaborate video pointing out his affiliation to the World Economic Forum.

Tesla is working on a world with electric cars and Bill Gates is retired from Microsoft just to focus on all the problems in the world. One flaw is this video is that your net worth isn't how much money you have. It counts all assets which includes non-liquid assets. If you own a billion dollar company it doesn't mean you have a $1 billion in cash. I understand agree with the premise of the video, but the math misleading at best. Wealth isn't a 1:1 ratio to cash.

Yeah, this is heavily biased video, I don't know about others, but
bill gates has donated about $50 billion in his lifetime, he also won't be leaving anything behind for his kids, all his wealth will be donated.
that's just the stuff I know since I was interested in his character after reading his biography in school.
