I started RYBELSUS around December of 2022. I was weighting 271 lb. When the doctor started me with the low-dosage which is 3 mg. I didn't feel the effect of the pill. When my doctor increase the dosage to 7mg then 14 mg then, I started feel the effect of the pill. I did not experience no side effects which was throwing up, diarrhea, headaches, etc. The cravings that I used to have at night we're gone. Also when I would eat I would not finish all my food. I started to make small meals for myself. I was not craving for sweets like chocolate cake. With the meal that I would make I was full with it. I stopped drinking coffee. I wasn't craving for it at all. I stopped eating pork chops which was my favorite meat. I had no desire to eat. I was only able to eat chicken. I was not into steaks anymore as well. My eating habits change. Due to the loss appetite. I've been on the medication for about 8 months. I lost 66 lb. My A1C level is 5.6% before my A1C level used be 6.8%. I feel much better my goal is to lose more weight. I just wish I new about this medication sooner.

Thank you for the tutorial on Rybelsus. I started in December of 2021 @ weight 198. The beginning I hated the pill taste, my side effects were minimal wore off after a month. I'm now weighing in @ 172 ,I haven't had my A1c checked yet ( March ). I couldn't tolerate metformin. I'm happy with the way I'm feeling.

Same here. Metformin was horrible and Ozempic was worse. Rybelsus does keep my sugars on check and my weight low, however I have severe hair loss since I started the injected form Ozempic (for about 7 months) then I moved to Rybelsus the pill form. I do think my hair loss is the result of using Ozempic/Rybelsus..

Just started Rybelsus almost a week ago and the side effects are not bothering me at all. I have a slight headache and some nausea, but nothing I can't handle. So far so good. I haven't lost any major weight, but it's only been 5 days...so I am going to hang in there to see what happens. Thanks for this video, it has really helped me understand.

My dear husband is suffering from Alzheimer’s as well as Diabetes 2, the Diabetes for 20: years, his A1C is too high, and it is very difficult to get him to take his pills, and now the Dr prescribed Ozempic, Lol.,,,,,oh no my dear husband will have absolutely nothing to do with a shot. I showed him your video, I practiced on a fruit, but to no avail…so now the doctor has just prescribed the oral form, which I had never heard of, so I was skeptical..but much more encouraged after seeing this,.yes, another pill, but I will explain to him at each does, so he understands…it’s funny, even with Alzheimer’s, he has not forgotten his hatred for injections….thank you so much..

I was on Ozempic for a little longer than a year. The jab didn't bother me but I also felt the drug's performance was lack luster. Within 2 doses of Rybelsus I could feel it was a game changer. No appreciable side effects and my belly monster has been slain! I have been able to go OMAD easily and naturally cut back on my portion sizes. I hate some folks' systems rejected it but for whom it works it will make all the difference.

I have Type 2 and AFib and was originally prescribed Truelicity in November 2022 but it was not available in UK until May 23 because of weight loss users. I have struggled to obtain supplies the last 3 occasions I have had to wait until my last dose before pharmacy was able to supply. In June I requested a further 4 week supply again this was not available so I advised my GP was stopping the medication due to none availability. Truelicity did not give any weight loss in fact I bounce between 105kg and 115kg even with increased gym workouts (7x1hr per week and walking moving 25 miles each week. I also reduced my daily food (cereal breakfast ,1 main meal at lunch and snack tea).
I am 10 days into 3mg Rybelsus without any side effects and hope to move up to 7mg on next repeat. My major relief is I am no longer restricted to travelling only where I have refrigeration available to store medication.

I have been on Rybelsus for 4 months now. Started at the 3mg and I'm currently on 14mg. I've had GREAT success with it. I'm currently at 40lbs lost, and my A1c is at 5.5. This however has not come without some horrible side effects for me. I get the nausea, vomiting and diarrhea at regular intervals. The vomiting for me is pretty violent. Usually I get the it once a month, but in the past week I've gotten it twice. And it's not due to over eating or eating the wrong things. I only eat about 700 calories per day. A low carb, low sugar, non dairy protein shake for breakfast. A smaller low carb low sugar protein shake for lunch. And a small grilled chicken breast and serving size of jasmine or basmati rice for dinner. I eat the same exact thing every single day, because it is what I feel has been the safest thing for my stomach to handle. And I take the pill exactly as recommended. I'd rather take the injectable, but I didn't qualify for the coupon and definitely can't afford the prescription.

Rybelsus made me very sick. Nauseous, dizzy, body aches and lethargy. I tried to stick with it but it just got worse and worse and I started throwing up. Actually laid in bed all day. Stopped for a week and tried again and same results. My doctor was angry and thought I was overly dramatic about it. Learn to say--"try something else, doc!" I take Jardiance now and my blood sugars have been great. The thing to note is if it doesn't work for you try something else--it's your body, after all. You shouldn't have to be miserable.

My doctor started me on Rybelsus. I had a starter pack and read how to take it. Basically....you do the hokey pokey every morning...take Rybelsus first thing in the morning, by itself. Don't have more than 4 oz of water. Wait a half an hour and take the rest of your meds, then eat. As soon as it touches your tongue, there is the most awful taste. Since Rybelsus and Ozempic start on a half dose, I called my doc and switched to the injectable Ozempic . I barely feel the needle at all. It sounded great, but I find the injectable to be much better.

It is especially hard to find a list of the ingredients contained in the Rybelsus pill, but here they are:
    • The active substance is semaglutide. Each tablet contains 3, 7 or 14 mg semaglutide.
    • The other ingredients are salcaprozate sodium, povidone K90, cellulose microcrystalline, magnesium stearate.
WHAT IS SALCAPROZATE? It seems that the Semaglutide molecule is too large to fit through the stomach to get into the blood so they add salcaprozate to the pill to "make the spaces of the stomach a little "wider" so the semaglutide can make its way through the stomach to the blood. Officially called an “intestinal permeation enhancer.” Then people who have never heard of gastroparesis can easily develop this condition. Gastro (meaning stomach) and pareses (meaning paralyzed). Gastroparesis is already a side effect of diabetes so diabetics get a double whammy on this.

My pills come in a regular pill bottle not the sealed packs that you show in the video. And I have been using a pill case! Should I question my pharmacy on why it’s in a regular bottle?

I knew I was going to lose my health insurance so my doctor gave me a 30 day prescription for 14 mg and told me to cut in in thirds and take 1 of those “thirds” daily. I’m concerned, though, because the instructions say not to cut or crushed pill. Is cutting the pill going to cause any issues with it working properly or does the drug company just say not to do that because they don’t want you to split up the doses to save some money (like I’m trying to do)? I’ve been on the actual 3 mg pills for 5 months (he never increased my dose) and just now am needing to start cutting the 14 mg pills.

That was exactly what l did. Because all were the same price where l gott mine. So I thought, why not get the 14mg. Chopped one into 4 for the first few. Then into two. So far, so good. Just an insignificant nausea. Unfortunately, l still eat the same size but with intermittent fasting, and exercise at least 6 a week, for over an hr and weight is slowly and consistently coming off. When l finish this pack, will stay off for a month, just to see the effect.

The 14mg daily oral rybelsus dose would be similar bioavailability to the 2.4mg qwk injection.
      Bioavailability of injections is around 37% (2.4x 0.37 = 0.8mg /wk)
Bioavailability of rybelsus is 0.8 - 1.4%. Greater absorption fasting for > 120 min after dose and with around 4oz or less of water. Assume 1.2% absorption (14mgx7d x 0.012= 1.17mg/wk)

Thank you for explaining information about Rybelsus. I like to understand the whys and hows. One question or concern I have, in 2014 I had Gastric Sleeve surgery (where the doctor remover 75% of my stomach). After the first 6 months I lost 82 pounds. Sense then I've been slowly gaining back the weight. Now I weigh 374. Anyway, will Rybelsus stick to my stomach wall after Gastric Surgery without trouble? I've taken the 3mg dose and now I'm taking the 7mg dose.

    • @sugarhighchannel
      @sugarhighchannel  4 года назад +3

Outstanding question. There is no warning in the prescribing information against using Rybelsus in patients with previous weight loss surgery, but in the clinical trials, people with previous weight loss surgery were excluded from participating due to that exact concern. So we don't really have any data on it. But the worst case scenario would be that the pill would be ineffective and simply pass through you; it's not likely that there would be some sort of harm. So if you're already on it, the decision on whether to continue it would be based on how well it seems to be working.

    • @sugarhighchannel

Yup. It only causes insulin release after a meal to help bring the glucose down after eating. The body does this naturally, but that insulin-release response is impaired in type 2 diabetes. This helps restore that normal function. It also helps to increase sensitivity to the insulin that gets released.

I’ve found that injectable Ozempic makes me really nauseous. And I mean REALLY nauseous with occasional vomiting which is frustrating because other than the nausea I’ve had amazing results from Ozempic (lost 38lbs in 5 months and my blood sugar is nearly perfect). Do you have any management or medication suggestions that I could discuss with my prescribing endocrinologist that could help combat the nausea & vomiting (I’m in the UK) I REALLY don’t want to give up on Ozempic as overall the results I’ve had taking it have been life changing but the near constant nausea is really getting me down now. I should add that I started on the .25 for 4 weeks, then .50 for 4 weeks and then 1.00 for the last 3 months and the nausea isn’t getting any better. Smurf Monster Thanks for your feedback; I’m glad you’ve found the videos helpful. Most important thing with reducing nausea while using these meds is reducing meal size. Smaller meals really can make a huge difference (you may already be doing that). Sometimes temporarily reducing the dose can help, or using an anti-nausea medication like ondansetron can help. But 5 months is a long time to have been on it with no improvement. For some people the nausea never goes away and we consider other options if it’s too much. I’d recommend starting with smaller meals if you haven’t already and go from there.

I have a question about the pill size going to pick up my prescription soon. Are the pills big? Or hard to get down ?

For those of us who are turning to semiglutide for weight loss, Ryebelus doesn't need refrigeration so you can get it from overseas. Tricare, Medicare etc will not cover semiglutides domestically.

@@sugarhighchannel I was on the small dose for a month then went to the second dose. I went on this because of the severe side effects to the second dose of ozempic. It had just been approved in Canada when I started the Rybelsus

I am insulin resistant and 58 type 2 for 25 years, ozempex gave me a dramatic drop in insulin use and the rybelsus had me increasing my insulin

I started on Ozempic and the stomach side effects incapacitated me, now I’m on Rybelsus I don’t have any issues. However over this period I have had significant Hair loss and I have read that it is a side effect of Wegovy. Can it also be a side effect of Ozempic/Rybelsus since they are similar meds?

Thank you for your very informative video. I was on ozempic last January which led me to the ER with a very scary diagnosis of ketoacidosis and put on insulin. One year later I am trying Rybelsus and have made it to 14mg. I also had gastric sleeve surgery several years ago and hugely regret it. I am wondering if this pill has enough stomach to lodge after having 80% of my stomach removed. I am feeling the side effects and my blood sugars are great after 6 days on 14mg so I feel it must be working but wanted your thoughts. I also experienced yesterday what sounded exactly like you described as pancreatitis, worst pain of my life directly in middle of my abdomen, short of breath, scary but subsided after about 10min and was sore for the rest of the day. My Dr said keep taking it and let him know if occurs again. If pancreatitis, would it just go away or should I expect it to return??? Thx again for your great videos!!! 👍
