    I have always hated Elementor and I am so happy that other people are looking for alternatives. Great video and I love everything Kadence.

    Thank you John for this enjoyable and valuable video. You certainly have a great teaching channel and hope you continue to share your skills and knowledge with the wordpress audiance/users/enthusiasts/developers. I personally am very keen on Brizy an think it is the easiest of all Page makers to use.

      Thanks so much for the encouraging words! Brizy has a great interface for sure - I hope the developers can keep up the pace... they have a lot of ground to make up, and the competition is definitely not resting on their laurels!

    John, I've played around with Gutenberg, and it's nice - have you noticed any difference in page load time between a page designed with Gutenberg and one designed with Elementor? Also, do you know of an easy way to switch from Elementor? I've been using their plugin for a couple of years, but I've been having some issues with it lately and I would switch if there was an easy way to do it. Thanks for your excellent videos, too, by the way. :)

    • @johncreates
      @johncreates  5 лет назад

      Thanks so much! In general if you build the exact same page in Elementor and Gutenberg, the Gutenberg page should be faster.
      And if you want to transfer away from Elementor, I would just rebuild page by page over time. But another option would be to look at the plugin Elementor blocks for Gutenberg - this allows you a lot of flexibility by using Gutenberg 90% of the time and Elementor only in those instances where you can’t get the look you want

    Thanks for this, I have been frustrated with Gutenberg due to how difficult and time conduming it is to work with to build a nice looking website.
    Felt like it's a waste of my time.
    Im gonna try Kadence with Gutenberg and see if it makes my job easier.

    Hi John...I'm a very recent Divi to Kadence/Gutenberg transfer. I found this video super helpful, thank you so much! :)
    I was wondering if there's a way to create a global blog post template in Kadence that's similar to Divi’s ‘custom body’ in their theme builder?
    I know about customising blog posts and pages, but I’d like to be able to add an affiliate notice and signup form on every blog post. Any advice would be hugely appreciated and paid for in good coffee (or red wine) should you ever visit Cape Town. :)

      WordPress is building its own Theme Builder natively which is like 1 or 2 releases away from doing everything you're speaking of :) Just a bit more patience I think!

I had a website years ago and gave up.....LOVE Gutenberg and don't want to use a theme. My hockey-damaged brain just can't figure it out.........Thanks again!

    Thanks so much for this great video, it is a pleasure to listen to you. Sadly, I get some wordpress error when I'm trying to get into the library. I got very excited to check out those blocks presets. However, getting an error and not able to preview them at all :( That's quite disappointing. I haven't found any answer on how to fix it so far. I was wondering if you're having the same experience?

      Oh, I needed to delete kadence, such shame. Upon my next login I saw that the kadence blocks are marked as "unidentified", stopped working, and I saw the info that my site doesn't support it - whatever that means.

    • @johncreates
      @johncreates  5 лет назад

      oh that's not good. I would check with your host that your website is running PHP version 7+, and that your Wordpress is up to date... if you are having errors like that there is definitely something wrong with your wordpress set up. Kadence blocks works just fine on updated site installs :)

      When you click on a block, a little hover menu pops up - the full width option should be one of those selections

    What is the fastest & free way to
    add a "TOP BAR"
    over a "sticky &transparent main menu"
    in a very simple web site ?
    Is the Elementor free enough ?
    or do we have to use "Kadence + Eementro .free"
    or any other simple solution ?
    BR

    Page Builder companies will simply take over the Gutenberg space by creating tools like Kadence Blocks.

    • @johncreates

      Well that's the goal - Gutenberg itself is just a base to build upon :) Thanks for the comment!

    Aloha John, I've got a quick Q for you.
    My goal is to create a simple site very similar to this one: seths.blog/
    If you'd please look at that site, and give me feedback on which direction I should pursue (using theme Kadence - or - Kadence Blocks here: wordpress.org/plugins/kadence-blocks/)
    Most of my concerns lie in the sidebar. I want to make it very closely mimicking the site referenced; Seth's Blog.
    Thank you! I very much appreciate your insight. Aloha!
