People pleasing/making yourself as a secondary character to your own story by playing a role in someone else's story is disrespectful and self abusing to yourself by silencing your authentic self. Leave uncaring people who do NOT see or interested in YOU.

Dealing with a narcissistic relationship can be very challenging, but it is not our job to be their therapist or life coach to fix them. All we can do is focus on being ourselves and setting boundaries.

Dealing with a narcissist means you're on your own in many ways, people aren't able to appreciate the complexity & dynamics at play when they hear your story. Breaking it down to what it is can be difficult to navigate! Awesome topic Maria❤

Dr. Ramani is truly the best on this topic. Thank you for having her on. I agree, there is overuse of the word "narcissist" (especially since 45). But personally, I feel it's better for the zeitgeist pendulum to swing in that direction than for people to be dangerously unaware of this personality disorder.

Thank you Maria for being another great platform for Dr Ramani. I absolutely love the work that she has done in the field of narcissism. She is the expert on this topic., and can explain the subject in a clear and understandable manner.
Thank you for the work that you do on so many fronts. You are both examples of being an architect of change.

Terminating the relationship with a narcissist, especially a family member, is a decision one likely wrestles with for a lifetime. That said, wrestling within one’s head is grace compared to actually dealing with the narcissistic, for it’s manageable and bestows the ability to move forward.

Dr. Ramani is a great source for this information. She speaks well and makes this subject easier to understand. I had a hard time with Maria's face. She can barely move it -- too much surgery and injections. Very strange.

adhd meds help me with controlling behavior. like yelling. so i wonder if narcs lack dopamine to change behavior, because dopamine is needed to take the wheel of the car, otherwise it's in autopilot.

Dr.Ramani, is it my role to fix my son in whom I see narcissistic tendencies? He is almost 19 and has a grandiose narcissist as a father.

Narcs can definitely cry at a movie, and be nice to so and so… but if the same thing or similar thing in real life happens to YOU… nope… no tears… and when it’s time to be nice to YOU instead of over-the-top kindness to that stranger acquaintance… nope. Not for you.
