Did you intentionally design your background because of RUclips's harsh copyright issues? At times it prevents it from watching the screen clearly. It's understandable if it's because of RUclips's copy right issue.
The "how else do you explain a bullet curving in mid air" always gets a chuckle because he stared in the movie Wanted in 2008. The gimmick in that movie was that him and this group of assassins could whip the gun around in such a way that caused the bullets to curve through the air.
"There's that chick. I forgot her name." Rogue. They cut her other scenes from the film. After Kitty got sliced from Logan, Magneto, Charles, and Bobby went looking for her because they wanted her to borrow Kitty's ability and take over for her. They find her at a lab where she is being experimented on, tortured. They rescue her, but Bobby dies in the process. A small piece of a sentinel wedges itself into the jet, which explains how the sentinels found them at the temple. Cutting out her scenes saved some time, but it messed with the continuity a bit. Re-watch the film sometime. It's called The Rogue Cut.
“Your best is enough. Trust me.” So many people who could benefit from hearing that. Charles’ arc across this movie is so, so, *so* impactful. I find myself thinking of this movie a lot as times seem to get increasingly hopeless. It’s just a perfect story about persevering and finding our best self even when they’re buried beneath trauma and fear and cynicism.
When xavior died in X-Men 3, his conscious roamed and went into his twin brother born without conscious. The end credits scene sorta shows it when Myra is in a hospital room caring for someone, and she is shown shocked when the patient speaks saying hello Myra.
After the events of this movie the timeline has been altered meaning some of the events that happened in the first X-Men trilogy did not happen such as Jean succumbing to the Dark Phoenix force and Charles dying.
Fun fact: Trask (Peter Dinklidge) wasn't a dwarf in the comics. I always give this movie credit for casting a strong actor for the role and not feeling inclined to poke at the change in adaptation.
This was great. I hope you’ll check out the alternate cut; or “The Rogue Cut”, of this movie. It’s got some great scenes as well as more of Anna Paquin as Rogue.
I absolutely love how they made the future Sentinels so scary with their glaring eyes and their growling sounds. Really adds to the horror elements they have, instead of the usual giant, droning robots from the comics.
You really need to watch the post credits scenes of these movies cause you’ve missed out on important story beats leading up to this movie that explains things for this movie.
Peter is Quicksilver, but Fox didn't have the rights to call him that back then. In Wandavision he was a totally different character, Disney basically played the fans.
I don't think it was Marvel's intent to mess with fans in a negative way. The creators thought it would be a cool way to mess with Wanda's head and play with different elements of grief, but also add a "meta layer for the audience" as well. I think they just misjudged how big of a deal it would be to fans.
When Mystique decided to not end Trask, an alternate timeline formed after 1973 I believe, so many events after that got erased. Sadly Ice man and a lot of others didn't survive the original timeline, but they were brought back in the alternate timeline.
Yet another reason why I consider DOFP to be the best superhero movie ever made. I just love how the old Xaviers prologue perfectly parallels the young Xaviers epilogue voice over or vice versa.
Yes! I was excited for you to finally get to this movie because this is where Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver first appeared before showing up in Wandavision. Hard to believe it's been a year since you reacted to the show.
Peter Dinklage has such a great range as an actor. I first saw him in The Station Agent, and then in a polar opposite role in Knights of Badassdom. He's absolutely amazing
I find that version drags on too long. The story goes off centre with magneto and Iceman going on a mission rescuing rogue. It has a couple of good things but I think this cut is much better with structure and pacing.
@@bratsmovies17 I do see what you mean, but I ultimately think that wouldn’t impact DOFP too much because it’s made clear that the mutant cure isn’t permanent (Erik moves the chess piece)
This movie was terrific. It was so great seeing almost all of the main X-Men cast in one movie. And seeing Scott and Jean alive. There was so much emotion and the new story for Professor X was powerful. Mad respect to Jackman for doing two X-Men films so close together. And Quicksilver...nuff said.
The *Deadpool* films are set in the new timeline after this film, *HIGHLY* recommend you rewatch it after this. Especially now that you understand most of the references which makes it better. *Deadpool 2* is best watched after the Logan film.
“Everything that happens now, is in your hands. I have *faith* in you Raven.” One of the most powerful moments and quotes in any comic book film imo. I also liked Magneto’s speech, Micheal Fassbender did an extremely good job as Magneto
Kitty's full first name is Katherine. She goes by Kitty Pryde in the comics. She has had two super hero names in the comics that I remember: Sprite and Shadow Cat. Also, she has been the girlfriend of both Peter Parker and Starlord in the comics.
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps ok, I'm not sure about the details anyway. I'm going off just what I remember. There is a timeline where she became president is another thing I remember about Kitty Pryde. Also, I think she is one of the few x-men who has a good relationship with her parents.

Ariel, Sprite, Shadow Cat, Captain Kate. She had dated Colossus, Pete Wisdom, Iceman, and Star-Lord. In the Days Of Future Past, she was married to Franklin Richards [son of Mr. Fantastic & Invisible Woman of the Fantastic Four]. The Ultimate line of comics had her dating Peter Parker and Iceman.
Days of Future Past messed me up in the theatre :( I grew up with these characters. I watched the original men get cast and saw the movie opening night ... Watching them die was rrrooouuggh 💔😭😭😭 atleast it prepared me for Justic League Dark: Apokolips War 😥😥😭😭
You may want to consider watching the rogue cut of this movie. It's how the movie was supposed to be watched with a slightly different ending and more scenes including a plotline of rescuing rogue.
They made an extended version of this film, in which after Logan accidentally cut Kitty, the others go find and break out Rogue, who used her powers to swap with Kitty. The idea being that capturing and testing Rogue also contributed to the adaptive capabilities of the Sentinels.
22:20 He had a pretty solid point…it’s because of her being captured that the sentinels of the future are so incredibly dangerous…I’d say it’s because of her and rouge and afew others but mostly them both is why they are that powerful and can adapt to the target mutant powers that makes them so hardcore lol they even targeted humans who don’t have powers but have the X-gene which can be passed on making a mutant with powers..so the sentinels just kill innocent humans too just because they have the possibility of having offspring that can have powers…it’s the end of the world in that future…I also imagine theirs only a handful of people that are in control of the sentinels and actually want them to do what they are doing..so it’s a pretty bleak future and why I don’t blame magneto for trying to kill her..it’s the easiest way to save the future..
21:43 Logan caught flashbacks because of seeing Striker. Also, about the ending 40:41: during this movie Chrarles changed his attitude - he stoped trying to controll Mystic and belived in her instead. That is the reference to Last Stand movie when Logan tells to Charles that he suppressed Jean all the time instead of trusting her. Cnanging his attitude Charles believed in Jean too and it worked - so she didn't become insane and didn't kill Scott and professor.
There isn't any bootstrap paradox, since it's not a loop of creation, Logan just changed the timeline between 1973 and 2023, which means all the movies before that (except First Class of course) never happened
That was not Ethan Hawke in First Class, it was Kevin Bacon. Also, Mystique copying a person's voice, does not invlue their language. Please, watch the end credits scenes after the main movie. Logan still needs to breathe. Eric is proof that those who hunt monsters, should be damn sure they don't become monsters themselves.
The reason this time travel thing works for me is because they weren’t changing Charles into someone he would never become. They just helped him become the Professor a little sooner.
36:12 This unfortunate fellow is our buddy Bishop, with the power to absorb energy, and use it power his energy guns. It's a shame he didn't feature more prominantly in the film, as he was pretty central to the comic storyline of the same name.
Bishop was not IN the original comic storyline. He came back to the 90's through a time portal opened by Trevor Fitzroy to capture fugitives from his original time. He could not return to his future and was brought into the current day team by Xavier.
@@CaptainFrost32 Bishop was central to the Age of Apocalypse storyline, but yes, Days of Future Past was done a few years before Bishop first appeared.
At the end-credit scene of The Last Stand, it was implied that Charles Psionically translated his extant consciousness/"soul" to inhabit the alive but consciousness-less John Doe patient of Moira seen earlier during her Mutant podcast. That's the form Charles is in in Days of Future Past, using his Psionic powers to be perceived as himself and not John Doe, but John Does's legs suffering from paralysis consequent of the physical condition featuring so preeminently in Charles's psyche.
This movie is AMAZINGGG!!! Btw, professor x is alive in the future because in X-men 3 he transferred his mind in to his twin brother's body right before Jean blew him up.
This is one of my favorite X-men movies. Days of Future Past is a great adaptation of the comic story. I just wish the Sentinel AI Master Mold was in the movie too. Can’t have everything.
Well, _originally_ originally they were to be the mutant children of the Whizzer (speedster) and Miss America (superstrength, limited flight, x-ray vision), WWII compatriots of Captain America.
Just a FYI :) Wanda and Peter are the children of Magneto; So imagine Wanda, Vision, their kids, Uncle Peter and Grandpa Magneto all existing in the MCU together.
35:43 Magneto is even more impressive when u think about how he’s controlling the robots tho, remember he put all that metal in them because they were purposely built without any metal to be able to take on magneto and he just shreds those beams and wires them all up he’s not controlling the robots he’s controlling the metal inside so he has to think of what part to move inside or what metal he needs to move to force the nonmetals to move. And he’s doing it with f****** 8 of them that much strain on someone’s mind the ultimate multitasker
Magneto could have cheated as well. Invert the targeting priority of the mutant sensor, and put an on/off switch for the weapons. The Sentinel then handles all the targeting based on data from the sensor (so it prefers to fire on non-mutants), and Magneto just has to tell it yes or no
Someone should’ve given you a guide for the order of the movies, because this movie takes place after Immortal Wolverine, which shows Logan being shocked that Charles survived Jean
19:00 Well, remember the 3 original X-Men movies? Mystique, then played by Rebecca Romijn, was portrayed as a badass assassin. Jennifer Lawrence did her performance justice in this Paris scene. That and overall in this movie. That is the reason why we could still accept her in this. Unlike the next two X-Men movies..
If you get a chance, watch The Rogue Cut. They cut out a whole plot line with Rogue in the future, where Charles, Erik and Bobby save her from being experimented on...it's got an amazing action sequence.
You know, I lived in the DC area at this time, and I don't recall RFK stadium being floated over to the White House while eight big, plastic robots were engaged with mutants. Charles must have really done a number on my brain. Seriously. I remember none of it.
The thing about Magneto is that he does not actually control Metal. That is just a by product of his ability to control electro-magnetism, one of the fundamental powers of nature in the Universe. Sadly movies and often comics just do "controls metal"
Xavier died only "kind off" :P ... At the end of one of the movies there is end credit scene when he wakes up in the body of his twin brother and is alive as nothing happened. Old Professor X in this movie is that one. Then movie takes us back to the 70's...
those character, Blink and Thunderbird(one in native american war paint) are both in the cancelled marvel tv show The Gifted, but it got 2 seasons before it got cancelled
Magneto is able to fly because of his ability to manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum. He's actually capable of doing much more than just manipulating metal, hence why he can levitate
The guy who plays Quicksilver in this movie was in the movie KickAss with the actor who plays Quicksilver in the MCU. As a matter of fact they were friends in the movie, that's why him being in WandaVision was even more meta.
39:35 Bruh you literally watched The Wolverine end credit and said you seen X3's End credit scene in that video. Also Jean was already in Future conscience Wolverine's memory when Charles went in his mind, so that means that event already happened when she died.
In the comics Kitty is the one whose consciousness is sent back in time to stop the creation of these robots. The daughter of Jean Grey and Scott Summers, Rachel Summers, uses her psychic powers to send Kitty/Shadowkat consciousness back in time. In the X-men animated series a mutant scientist named Forge creates a Time Machine. Sends the mutant Bishop back in time to stop the creation of these robots.
I know she barely gets a role into in the movie but Jessica chastain and James mcavoy chemistry is lovely to watch They star together as co-starts in It 2
Mary, Magneto's power is not manipulating metal. Magneto controls magnetic fields so anything metallic can be made to do his bidding. He also can control the magnetic fields generated by electricity.
I love how confused she was about Charles not having his powers in the beginning. It’s not that complicated to understand even if someone has never seen the movie before. 🤣
I second other comments regarding the importance of watching post credit scenes of these movies as they contain important plot points that will clear up some confusion
You saw some of the film out of order. This one is after the 3rd X-Men film which had a post credit scene of how Xavier came back. It’s also before Logan so in the timeline the new one made by this movie leads into Logan’s story. It’s also why there is a joke in Deadpool’s first movie about the timeline confusion and two Xavier’s.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet. But Storm and Black Panther had a thing in the comics (well a run thereof). Also Storm is a goddess. More than a mutant.
I forget his name (the guy that can catch on fire from Fantastic 4) It was said in the movie that he could get as hot as the sun without even reaching his limit. How could he be simply put out by any level of cold? Also paradox . If younger Charles learns the phrase "just because someone stumbles and loses their way , doesn't mean they are lost forever" from older Charles ,then that means older Charles learned it the same way probably. Are they in a time loop?
and this is why you need to watch movies in order and watch the credit scenes. charles is a live because he put his mind inside that of a coma patient durring the events of 3. they literally have him discussing the ethics of it to his students earlier in the movie....
You never watched the second post credit scene in X3 . You watched the scene where Magneto moved the chess piece after he lost his powers but there is a other scene that explains how Charles is still alive
Magneto is an Omega level mutant. His magnetic field controlling power has no limit. He can also control Thor's hammer without Thor's will(in comics). [Jean is also Omega level]
Best way to reconcile 2 continuities ever, alongside an excellent cast. Quicksilver is a bit overpowered so they only use him for the Pentagon mission, but they bring him back for the next film featuring an even more overpowered villain.
This is all after Jean and old Charles died, but you should remember that almost every single marvel movie has either 1 or 2 post credits scenes. You should check out X-Men 3's post credit scene, and The Wolverine's post credit scene to understand why Charles is still alive.

The title comes from the great 1967 album by the Moody Blues, "Days of Future Passed," which is famous for the song "(Evening) Nights in White Satin."
Get a life
I mean obviously the comics get it just the movies didn’t
No introduction for the kitty?
THE AUDACITY!!!! THE ADAKITTY EVEN!!!
There is a Rogue cut of the movie released in 2015. The movie was inspired by a X-men # 147 comic in 1981.
The guy who plays Quicksilver in this movie was in the movie KickAss with the actor who plays Quicksilver in the MCU. As a matter of fact they were friends in the movie, that's why him being in WandaVision was even more meta.
I'm a big fan of Rebecca Romijn's Mystique. She seemed more ruthless & had an awesome body.
one of my favorite movies in the series .and although we only saw Blink briefly, she was later one of the main characters in The gifted.
The version of Wolverine when he wakes up at the end of the film is my favourite. It's great to see him happy.
Anyone watched this movie ever noticed the shape of the Sentinel transports?? It's in the shape of coffins. Fun, huh??
39:35 Bruh you literally watched The Wolverine end credit and said you seen X3's End credit scene in that video. Also Jean was already in Future conscience Wolverine's memory when Charles went in his mind, so that means that event already happened when she died.
Smoking on planes started to be prohibited or sectioned off in the 80's. But until the early 2000's smoking sections on flights were still legal.
I love the dark vibe of this movie, definitely in my top marvel movies
In the comics Kitty is the one whose consciousness is sent back in time to stop the creation of these robots. The daughter of Jean Grey and Scott Summers, Rachel Summers, uses her psychic powers to send Kitty/Shadowkat consciousness back in time. In the X-men animated series a mutant scientist named Forge creates a Time Machine. Sends the mutant Bishop back in time to stop the creation of these robots.
Mary: I want to know where this fits in the timeline.
fox: No.
Lol
The moment where Xavier reads Wolverine's mind should help her know where this movie fits in the timeline.
I remember seeing kitty pride in the origional. She trapped the juggernaut in the floor for a moment
43:33 I still can't wait to see him again in Multiverse of Madness 💪🙏🏽
I suppose you could consider magnetic fields as a form of energy... but Magneto puts metal plates in his shoes, that's how he flies lol.
In the wise words of mary cherry “don’t do murder, just eat a burger.”
I know she barely gets a role into in the movie but Jessica chastain and James mcavoy chemistry is lovely to watch
They star together as co-starts in It 2
Mary, Magneto's power is not manipulating metal. Magneto controls magnetic fields so anything metallic can be made to do his bidding. He also can control the magnetic fields generated by electricity.
33:28 (and the plastic prison escape in X-Men 2) are why Magneto earned the title "supervillain"
"Dont do murder, just eat a burger" 40:49
-Mary Cherry 2022
I love the new intro song you did it sound so suspenseful which is perfect because his whole movie is going to be suspenseful for you
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet. But Storm and Black Panther had a thing in the comics (well a run thereof).
Also Storm is a goddess. More than a mutant.
She was worshipped in Africa because of her mutant powers, right?
33:30 - I'm not sure if they ever say this in the movies, but I think he cheats the flying by having metal in his shoes and moving that.
you said at the end "how Stryker got his hands on Charles", but we know it was Mystique fishing Logan out of the water
Best x men movie to date imo. Sentinels are real nightmares, charles and magneto handshake made me tear up
The reason Professor X is alive in the Sentinel future is explained in an end-credit scene in X-Men 3.
I forget his name (the guy that can catch on fire from Fantastic 4)
It was said in the movie that he could get as hot as the sun without even reaching his limit.
How could he be simply put out by any level of cold?
Also paradox . If younger Charles learns the phrase "just because someone stumbles and loses their way , doesn't mean they are lost forever" from older Charles ,then that means older Charles learned it the same way probably.
Are they in a time loop?
Jennifer Lawrences raven/Mistic is the ultimate injustice to original comic book character
The Fast dude is QUICKSILVER, you should know him, because he's the best part of the entire movie.
X-MEN days of future past is my favorite X-MEN movie I love it so much man
The first guy you said was cool was Bishop, a mutant that grew up in the terrible future, and the second guy was Warpath.
In the comic, Kitty Pride was who traveled to the past
and this is why you need to watch movies in order and watch the credit scenes.
charles is a live because he put his mind inside that of a coma patient durring the events of 3.
they literally have him discussing the ethics of it to his students earlier in the movie....
I think you missed the post-credit scene in X3, which explains why Charles is alive.
Pumped for this one!
Always enjoy these reactions. Keep up the good work!
