Hi Jason, Simon in the UK here. Ive committed to a ‘Wicked Brick’ Exclusive case for it which also houses the Sarlac Pit set. (now sold out) but held off on the set purchases until they discount them heavily. If i had the 2 other saber id probably have done the same as you.
For me, the ideal combination would be the 2006 set with the 2024 minifigures from the barge and the skiff. The boat pieces are a neat solution for the front of the barge.
I know those figs are “missing”. But in the movie. They were on the skiff and not on the barge. Right. Only Luke jumped on the barge momentarily so maybe he’s missing. But if they included them the the retail would have been $650 right
As a very iconic vehicle from the original trilogy this was a day one pickup. The light saber was just a nice bonus. I enjoyed the build and honestly I think it's one of the most beautiful sets. As for minifig selection they have it correct. The hero minifigs are in the other set where they belong. I've got both displayed together. For me the size and looks are very impressive. Well worth the money.❤
I would love to own the barge but not going to pay $500. Will wait for a flash sale in a couple years. Waiting to purchase the skiff on sale as well. Do want all the 25th figures
I bought this day one but sold the GWPs so better overall cost. Part of build is similar to cantina with interior, so Ok build. Thanks Jasons Bricks in 5 * 3.
Nah, I think I'd pass on that one. Even if I had that kind of money, Jabba's Sail Barge was never really one of the vehicles in Star Wars that made me go "oooh, I want one!" I can see it for like, people who are actually collecting UCS sets, but my last one was in 2003, so that's not me. :P (Incidentally, that set, the UCS Naboo Starfighter, is really the only one where the stickers have really been a problem for me. But it's also the only decent looking Naboo fighter Lego has ever made, so...)
Personally I just don't see this is a $500 set. This should be at most $420. I haven't built it yet, but I've seen and checked it out in detail. Minifigure selection is OK at best. It would've been nice to see more of the "random" characters that were on the barge in a $500 set, but of course Lego didn't do that. I'm just tired of them charging the highest price only to give you the "necessary". If they can give us the selection of minifigures they gave for the Cantina, they can damn sure do it for the Sail Barge.

This was a great review/comparison! I think it’s a beautiful set.

I had to pick this up om September 30th at 11pm CDT.
@@darthgbc363 you must have the same affliction I do, can’tmissitus 🤣
@@jasonsbricksin5 Yep. Can't miss out on SW GWP.
BTW, I sent LEGO a PDF of my Walmart purchase. They responded "Wrong Store". Augh.
For $500 dollars there should be no stickers in a UCS set. I would also be worried with any set that has that much potential "brittle Brown" in it.

Just want the Max Rebo in a $5 polybag and I’ll be happy.
I will pass. I like star wars but not a lego star wars fan to have. I am happy to enjoy it along with your short review. Grtz, SG from Belgium 🇧🇪

that's like $100 per minute
Where are you going to put it? Are you out of SPACE? 😂

5mins and $500 lighter
I seriously don't get the appeal of this set. To me it looks like a giant piece of dung - literally. 😅
