There’s a lot of videos on youtube. And with the tiktok “for you” social media thing and fighting games being a niche of video games which are a niche genre in itself, targeted videos may be more sparse than a more generalized… cute cat video or funny fail video for example. Value doesn’t come from how many views something has, its the individual value to the people that DO see the work. So for sure keep it up and find that community that enjoys your work. Don’t expect everyone, just that niche that will actually engage with you. Keep providing that value. 🫵👍🏼🫠
Adding on the Heat Dash part, the 10 flat chip damage that comes from it is unscaled. That means it will not be affected by Rage's 70% chip damage reduction. This adds an extra layer to your options to whether go for: ...guaranteed at minimum 11 chip damage and +5f situation on a super low opponent ...or go for the usual blocked Heat Smash into ~+9f stance mix up on most characters. The former is really great, in which a well-placed Heat Dash guarantees a round finisher attempt where most of the time it will become a simple 1HP mix up of either a df1 or d4.
Getting rid of being able to launch your opponent when on the ground was to encourage more mindless aggression for the offensive players. Tekken 8 needs a massive rework it's crazy how small changes can have a massive impact.
neat topic to make a video about, but the framing is weird. making some moves that were knockdowns do something else instead isn't exactly a change to knockdowns, and that's next to the fact that they actually *did* change several aspects of how knockdowns work in tekken 8, something that isn't covered here. still, nice video. keep it up
I think some knockdowns being locked behind heat is a huge change. As they guarantee a +17 mixup with bufferable inputs. Especially when it comes to King’s f2,1 that used to give vague oki like they showed in the vid and it's now even a launcher in heat. Kinda crazy tbh. So the "just do something else" entails more than what you make it out to be.
@@JohnnyGonzoli huge change for the gameplay of many characters, sure, not for the knockdown system or the game played around knockdowns. your idea there is like saying magic 4s not launching anymore is a change to the juggle system. it's just not, no matter how much it matters for the game as a whole.
I think you're missing the point. They even mention that knockdowns still exist but heat engagers remove the ambiguity of knockdowns like again king f2,1. The point of the vid seems to be about the moves themselves and not about the oki-system that you engage in afterwards once heat is not a factor.
@JohnnyGonzoli that's exactly why the framing is weird. the change isn't about knockdowns at all. the point of the video isn't about how knockdowns have changed either. heat engagers are more generic and less ambiguous, yeah, but they're still a separate system. wall stuns wouldn't change how wallsplats work if some old splatting moves now stun. it's a good idea to examine heat engagers in relation to knockdowns, but you take the right idea too far and you can still end up off the mark. in reality, they're just playing engagement, from the title to video structure. that's fine. my suggestion is just that you can probably make it work without this giant wrinkle. lots of possibilities for framing it that don't overstep. that's all.
I think Universal Runner Armored Shoulder on Counter-Hit allows for Heatbound launch (can do do even High-move Tornado spun near walls) with 87% Scaling & those T7 introduced pancake flipped KND schlumps (Negan FF2,Shaheen Backturned 2,Leroy DB12 etc) near walls give 56%~61% scaling now instead of 70%~ish (I can't recall T7 scaling atm)
feels like the whole point of the video is that some old knockdown moves now heat engage and give a standing mixup, which is less interesting than a knockdown
its hilariously bad how so many moves create knockdown when the moves preformed probably couldn't knock down a a sugar cane pole... this whole addiction from the devs to create opening without earning it is absurd and why peeps dont like T8. This whole situation is a direct response to the lack of Defense options in T8...
I love how the contrast between the T7 oki system and the T8 oki system really exemplifies how terrible Tekken 8 is. The Tekken 7 grounded system had so much more nuance and interaction. They really take the control out of defensive situations in 8.
Exactly. This video shows exactly whats wrong with Tekken 8. Removing agency from the players, particularly the defender, in order to force more offensively oriented guessing. Its really is a trash system theyve created.
It's the trend, T8's oki system was slightly dumbed down from TTT2/T7, where it was easier to float moving ground opponents, and hence had more traps. Especially TTT2 with bounds into TA combos if opponent tried to move too quick from a non tech rollable ground position. Flashy 50/50 mixups into pretty combos is what the trend of Tekken and other fighting games has been for a while.
DING DING DING WE HAVE AN OG IN THE HOUSE. but seriously T8 ruined any level of defensive options and handicapps anyone from getting gud due to the forced openings the devs leave on purpose
@@OldManNutcakez yea and trends last so long in the real world.....their attempt to garner more normz is what cause this chasing the dragon scenario. the T8 devs really thought they could just cut up T7 and simplify everything
Tekken 8 changed everything (and most not for the better imo), you can literally make a video on every little thing that is different and how it has changed in Tekken 8.
Very cool video, but please, keep uploading. Do not vanish for another 10 months
MAN HOW ARE YOU SO UNDERRATED, YOUR VIDEOS ARE HQ AF, KEEP GOING MAN!
Guess 2 videos a year doesn’t help that fact lol

Never give up keep making us Jack main proud with Jack content
Oh yeah, jack 8. I forgot he existed lol
Love the editing style, i hope the algorithm blesses you
That transition from jack to king is a nice detail.

the new combat dev ruined all the work that was done in T7
love this!!! keep posting yall i love you guys
Sick video! Keep making content.
Excellent video! Please make more tekken content!
3:25 You can activate HeatDrive even with Heatbound input bind without even holding forward. Very good as a reimbursement for Camera Switch botches.
I miss when jack's ff4 was PC.
me too
this was like watching a short tip video on G4 or something. lol subbed
This is such a good channel hoping for more videos you match some of TBS and Core A style of videos with the editing
y'know, it would be cooler if we could decide if we want a knockdown for less damage or a heat engaged 50/50 for more damage
I see future with this channel gonna go boom
this game has sm potential
How did you get the ariel view in the beginning

how is bro so underrated
This video is great and all but umm.. song?
I love this kind of content
see u again in 10 months ig
I still don't understand the link between heat engagers and knockdowns. They have nothing to do with one another, right?
A lot of moves that used to be knockdowns with specific follow-ups or oki situations are now heat engagers
feels like the whole point of the video is that some old knockdown moves now heat engage and give a standing mixup, which is less interesting than a knockdown

@ no Tekken was a previous tekken… but this tekken is worse than previous tekken.
