It's very possible this is the best song ever written. I can't think of anything I would change about it. Perfect narrative storytelling, precision instrument playing, and so much heart. So much heart. ♥️
One of the everlasing reggae/ska/punk songs of all time. Immortal. On repeat & an absolute favourite! Party favourite! Well done boys - can't wait for that new album -C'mon!!! BOOM!👊
This song just makes me wanna incite a ruckus!! All my neighbors must know this tune by ♥️ by now. It's played regularly with lots of volume in my house.
Fun fact. The first time the band saw this video was right after we downloaded to my laptop from an email Jaap got from the producer. Geoff asked "Does it look like I am really singing?"
I've been having the shits for a week now, makes you really unhappy tbh. Arse is sore from wiping, can't go outside cause i'm afraid to shit my pants....yaknow...
Crank the volume, do the butt cheek shuffle while sitting on the throne and yell out 'here come the runs' when the chorus kicks in. That should cheer ya up.
Lyrics: They say if you ain't born beautiful You best be resourceful And me I'm just a dirtball A righteous criminal And if your daddy ain't rich Ya gotta find some way to take it So I'm out window shopping With a brick at three in the morning Cause we're the bad seeds, the unwilling Crooked saints, straight dub villans With raised glasses we'll grift your whole system Man you better listen Here come the drums They say if you run to the rocks The rocks will be melting And if you run to the sea The sea will be boiling And if you ain't born privileged You still got to survive kid So you're out window shopping With a crowbar at three in the morning Cause we're the bad seeds, fully unwilling to give in Straight dub villans With raised glasses we'll grift your whole system Man you better listen Here come the drums
I was working at The Rebellion festival last year and Jaya the Cat were on the stage that I was working on. They absolutely smashed it and I am now wondering how it took so long to hear them...
Hahahahaha! I had no idea these guys were still together. I still have Jaya the Cat's first ep cassette "Bottle of Gin"....1994 I believe. I even remember the original Jaya who was Jeff's cat. This is a really lovely surprise after all these years.

wat een geweldige avond gehad enorm bedankt hiervoor jaya the cat!. in Hilversum in de vorstin ✌ omg enormous thanks for the great evening in Hilversum 🍺🍺🍺
Dave Germain used to sleep over my house when we were kids, my mother he would comment on how his hair would always look great when he woke like it never moved in the night, I love how his band turned out, Jaya the cat is my favorite chicopee mass band besides the money's who were technically from east Hampton, but met the lead singer when he lived here.
