If someone asked me what would be the best itinerary if you only had one day in Barcelona I would hands-down say exploring the many buildings and parks of the world-famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi is your best bet. In this video we start at his most famous accomplishment - La Sagrada Familia, then work our way up towards the Gracia neighborhood to experience Park Güell. An incredible public park with some of the best views of the entire city. Next, we explored Casa Vicens which was his first large commission. And finally, we finished the day with sunset on the roof of Casa Mila also known as La Pedrera.
We got a chance to learn so much about Gaudi but also about the history of Barcelona through the well-curated exhibits, especially at Casa Vicens (which only opened a year and a half ago!).
We are planning on making another video about our Top 10 Favorite Things to Do in Barcelona and can't wait to show you more of the city where Lou and I fell in love.

Beside lou recording video what does he do when you are drawing? Does he read a book, peopling watching? For me i couldnt have someone with me waiting for me to finish a drawing. I would feel rush unless they were drawing. Dana you mention you were trying to get ideas for your future home. What would be cool is a table with a counter top that has your van made from tiles. Nice video guys.

I love the way you talk about Gaudí and his architecture. It reminds me of how impressed I was when I first daw the Sagrada Familia and that it still wasn't finished but they kept building and building. On you trip through Europe maybe on your way you get to Giordino dei tarochii by niki de saint phalle. It was so stunning seeing her work and her love for detail. It is truly amazing

If you're still in Barcelona, you should also visit the Barcelona Pavilion by Mies van der Rohe. It has a different style than Gaudi's structures but it's beautiful in its own simplistic way.

Obwohl mein Mann und ich bei weitem nicht solche Weltenbummler sind wie ihr, versuchen wir doch von jedem Urlaub oder Ausflug etwas Schönes für unser Zuhause mitzunehmen. Ich meine jetzt keine Souvenirs, sondern irgendeinen schönen Gegenstand, der an den Tag erinnert - funktioniert viel besser für uns, als Fotos.

Gaudi !!!!!!!!!!!!! I love his architecture so much. I would really like to live in a house is his style one day . I have always wanted to see the sagrada familia in person. 2026 I think is when they will complete it after all theses years .

You’d also love the architecture of hundertwasser. And check out Earthships in Taos. I stayed in one once and it was glorious. It’s made from old tires and adobe and allows a lot of customizing little nooks and crannies.

Dana, it’s so awesome to see your progression of drawing! I just found your inktober videos and have watched almost all of them. Early on in inktober you described yourself as moving through the uncertainty of having put ink on the paper & realizing you have to accept any mistakes & just keep on going. That was a beautiful metaphor for life and spoke to me because I am learning how to be more decisive and accept my mistakes as a part of life. Now watching you just sail through so many sketches in one day was very inspiring 💫 I’m also so glad Lou is doing better!!

if you have the chance, I recommend going to the Bellesguard house, also by Gaudi. it's very nice and there are some very interesting techniques on display :)
