This was a great video. You nailed so much of it dead on! I started at 17 and am definitely an arm swinger. I always had this belief that the whatever I initiated with my arms, the body would autonomically support. Like a kid throwing a baseball. If he's got any athleticism in his DNA, his body will perfectly support the throwing motion. However, there are things with the golf swing that are unique and I believe throw off the mind's ability to autonomically support that motion. Some include: -the ball is down on the ground -you're swinging around your body, to hit something on the ground, that you want to go perpendicular to your stance -if you try to hit the ball (vs produce a swing), your body will try to support the HIT, which does not produce the same result as a swing -hitting an object and making a swing are two completely different things -the burned-in DNA making humans want to hit the ball is very tough to change/ignore -the optics of standing beside the intended line, bent over with a tilted head, play tricks on the brain as well When you are very young, let's say 6, when most Tour players started, the good ones figure out without being aware of it, that the swing is what produces the results, not the hit. Also, as you pointed out, they are not strong enough to hit it anywhere with their arms and hands, so they used their bodies. So at a very young age, when the brain is very malleable, these two things come together and then give them a chance at playing this game at an extreme high level. Maybe even go pro...if a zillion other rando variables aligned for them! Now you see why I liked you video. I'll check out your others now.. Thanks!
I recently found your channel and have finally come to realize why trying other methods by hitting hundreds of balls have been a futile and wasteful effort and time. You made me realize that my approach and application of learning has been fundamentally incorrect, with a “hitting” mentality, as opposed to your application of skills required of proper motion and rotation of the body to facilitate the “swinging” of the golf club. Erasure of physical positions and partial methodology teachings has been necessary. Mental discipline is a prerequisite. Thank you.
@@EfilGolfChannel You remind me of my very dear brother, a scratch golfer, who has recently passed. He used to say the same things to me while trying to teach me golf. Thank you.
@@efil2905 He was just 5'-5" tall, about 140 lbs. I could never beat him at golf. I am one year older, but chose to play baseball, football, and sprints in track and field. Took up golf after college around 22 years old. Your instructions and videos are so heartwarming, comforting, and so apropos. Thank you so very much.

Power without Control is nothing,
Control without Balance is nothing,
Balance without Discipline is nothing.
