The Singing is really hurting right here The musicianship too. You guys should come to El Paso Texas if you like this kind of music, we have a lot of it here...
I feel that this is a good band not doing a great performance. Which happens some times so that is ok. Music like this belongs in a dark debaucherous venue and needs to be loud. Because it is not in this setting the musicians most likely feel quite un-easy.
I absolutely LOVE their new album. It's one of my favorite albums of 2016 so far. But it just boggles my mind how different Miss sounds from the album. So nasal-y and off tune. It really makes me sad.
The vocals on the Paradise record are pushed way too high in the mix. It's almost like they were going for more of a pop sound with more focus on vocals. If I was the producer I would have buried her vocals abit more because there is some seriously good musicianship that is hard to hear. Hopefully one day they remaster the record lol

Nylon Whale Yeah, I'm not talking about people who who are just TECHNICALLY good -- who can noodle around really fast. I'm not impressed by that. I'm talking about people who write really hard-hitting, incendiary riffs in good songs. This song....Bubble Dream...is just kind of empty prog rock.
Singing is out of key/pitch. really awful singing. Drums are out of time often and very novice in style. Guitar work is uninspiring and sounds a bit like a teenager who's in to punk/metal and has been playing for a year or two. Sorry to any fans for shitting over the band, but this is one of the worst I've heard from KEXP in a long, long time. Ah well, all the best!

Maybe you can't hear it here, but this guy is an incredible guitarist. Listen to the studio version of Sister, and tell me that's not cool.
Agreed with Jackson. I've played guitar for about 19 years and while I had to shut this awful music off after two songs due to the vocals, the guitarist actually plays some cool stuff.
If I remember, Kexp used to have really good music on here. There's been a lot (a lot) of stuff like this, weird bad stuff that people can only justify as art because it's sound, and sound is music? Sometimes? I guess I'm coming off pretty strong, but , they're also blending punk rock, and atmospheric indie? Atmospheric stuff requires attention to pitch, because it's usually all it's got to grab people's attention, attentiom to detail... Punk rock is a little on the "f detail, let's just rock the heck out of it" It's an interesting combination, but needs working out in a more gentle way? It's ear melting as it is now. I guess if that's what they wanted.

This is how punk rock bands sound and are from 2010 to today.
I don't know why but watching the singer makes me feel uncomfortable. she's pitchy but sometimes it sounds alright. Great guitar work though.

Tempo is kinda weird idk, it's quite annoying. The band's concept is respectable though.
How can tempo be weird? Are you more grossed out by 60bpm, or 120bpm?

What i'm trying to say is that the band is playing a little out of tempo, making the songs they play sound annoying for me. Not a big deal though.
