Trying to Charge the Tesla Swapped Benz on a Public Fast Charger - Fellten Battery Swap Ep. 3

- Well we have our new Fellten batteries installed and mounted in place on the Tesla swapped Mercedes 300CD. We have our charging port fixed underneath our stock gas cap location. And we have all of our high voltage wiring made, routed, and hooked up. The next step is finishing all of the wiring on our 12v system to power everything from our lights, to our dash (that we still have to install), and all of our other accessories.
Once our fuse box is in place and all of our small gauge cables are ran, we can finally take the car out for a drive with the new batteries AND see if we can get it to charge off of a public fast charging station!
Make sure to like and subscribe because we're going to be installing the air ride in this EV swapped. We're also getting the LS swapped Mercedes on the Dyno really soon and getting the Godzilla swapped Lincoln Continental out on the road! You're not going to want to miss the end of any of these builds!
You dont need to justify why you did the swap to your own car. It's yours and thats a good enough answer for the haters. Awesome build
Well said.
Other people can go buy their own car and restore it to factory if they want.
Nice one @Big-Wonka
It’s also faster and cheaper than a gas or diesel power train and almost entirely maintenance free. This one also looks great imo 😊
I think this should be done to ALL non-perfomance classic cars. Keep these beauties on the road without the mechanical issues and pollution.
It's already being done, there are people specialising in that.
What do you think is going to happen to the old batteries he is no longer using? You think the way we "recycle" things like that from a global aspect, i.e how we ship it across oceans to be stripped and and sorted in the MOST cost effective manor in nations with minimal pollution standards. Now times that by... Hundreds of thousands? Millions? Is going to be "good" or even better for the world? What a joke, you've been fooled.
I'm not at all an EV fan however it's things like this that got me changing my mind. This build is sick and the car looks so good!! Excellent work!!
Stick to gas, more electricity for us
Swapping regular cars to EV is really cool. I always wanted to add an electric motor to the rear and keep the 4 cylinder in front.
There is a company that offers in-wheel motor swaps to turn a 2-wheel drive car into 4-wheel drive.
i love how quiet this runs,,2 thumbs up great job
This build is really good. You guys are multitalented indeed.
That’s the future of engine swaps man, good job!
Awesome job! David! Thanks for sharing!
As Tim the Toolman Taylor said, more power!!
Dave you dont have to justify why you are electrified your merc. It’s great seeing the progression and how you are fixing things that you weren’t wholly happy with in its first iliteration
the bigger pack and ccs is a game changer, now you got the power, range, fast charging all in steez. what more could ya ask for!
That is so cool, as always. Hope that all of the guys in the work shop have had a great Christmas, and have a happy new year.
Dude it’s your ride, no need to explain why you do what you do. Either way I think it’s a sweet car 👍🏻
I must say, along with all the cool tech and hard work, the color of that gold paint is awesome.
So now... all you need is that preparation for "in case of emergency"... so hide a couple of solar panels somewhere so if you are in the middle of nowhere, you can EVENTUALLY get your batteries charged up. I guess one of those Jackery or Eco-Flow systems would work just as well... but it won't be fast -that's for sure. This was very well done the first time... but it just goes to show how quickly tech becomes obsolete so major improvements can be made. Very nice! I hope the owner is well pleased....
Why would he ever be in the middle of nowhere?
Awesome project Dave. Keep up the solid work
Good sh!t, I wonder if the naysayers are jealous and just don't want to convert over to the truth😮
Damn that car is so slick. Lookin so good :)
I really like this car and can't wait for the next episode. Hopefully we get to see your new dash, too (at some point). All the best!
Great job. Live your life 🤓🇫🇷
I like your work. Good job 😅😅😅
Hey Dave, anybody ever tell you that you sound a lot like Mr. Rogers?? If I close my eyes and just listen, it’s almost spooky! It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood!
great build love itty
Savage Friday drop!
This is one cool car.
Desecrating the holy grail! 😢
It looks like super heavy 🧐🧐
Awesome project Dave. Always something to overcome but we know you got this. I hate that you feel you had to address all the nay sayers; what you're doing is different and that's always going to get attention. When you plugged that car into the charger at the shop and that smile came on your face, that's the only reason you need to keep doing what you're doing. What do you think people thought when Barris or Winfield built their first custom cars? Do you my friend and we will keep watching.
When will we get to see the HMMWV converted to a PHEV? ⚡️🔌
How is the 280se coming along
what is going on with W126?
Park much? You are only half way in the space😂
I thought the Tesla plug was the new and improved North American standard
W123s were so slow particularly the n/a diesels. It really suits an old school Merc to be given the silent treatment.
Whats the avg cost for a retro mod EV build like this? Lots of variable for sure, but would be great info to share.
Time, tools and parts would exceed the cost of a new EV.
@@jxke Yeah, fair enough.
💪👊👏
I don’t really understand… Why?
👍🏾👍🏾

Thanks for the analysis! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
EV's dont turn my crank! Dino juice for ever! Nice work though wiring guru!

The worst part about these EV vids is the serious lack of burnouts. Gasoline Forever!
If there's one thing that electric can easily do is burnouts. Now if you were talking about gears or sound or range, you may have a point
How to ruin a car
It’s like they’re trying to kill the channel.😂
