A valid and valuable comparison for people to consider . I am considering getting the Nubian for an entirely different reason. We have horses that at one time were boarded where they had Nubian. Our horses seemed to mingle and hang out with those goats while other horses did not. It seemed an odd bond was developed between them but it was very pleasing to watch. I find the Nubian pleasing to the eye and possibly a companion animal.
Great video Kelsey and maylee did amazing I have a question I know you have a couple cheese making videos on your channel already but if you adventure into more cheese would you care to take us along to show us the process I just love your channel thank you
After you get done making cheese or what ever you can take the whey and spray your pastures with it. It is awesome fertilizer. I learned that from my friend we are getting milk from. :) Happy 4th of July!!
Can you imagine having to walk with that lump between your legs? LOL. I used to hand milk our goats as a teenager. It was powerful, I'm pretty sure I could hit a target from 30-35 feet. Now as an old lady I seriously have Popeye arms.... hahahah. Get those kids working on their forearms!!! Love your channel! You could open up the donation button, so us watchers could show you our appreciation. Have a GREAT 4th of July farming friends!!!!
Awesome!! I was just wondering about this. Someone offered us 2 minis and I wasn't sure if they would produce enough for the family. They are from proven milk lines but now I think I will take another look. Thanks for the video.
Yes! The minis are supposed to produce almost as much milk as the full Nubians but require less feed to do it. Minis are definitely a worthwhile way to go.
We milk Nubians. We found that what we feed makes a difference as well a conditions of the day. Milk drops after thunderstorms and hot days. What helps your does produce their best.?

The only down side is the girls scream when they want their daily ration of grain😂 We are used to it though.
Ha that I can handle....trimming hooves was the downside when we had goats.
Having a milk stand makes hood trimming much simpler.
I LOVED THIS VIDEO !!!! It made me laugh so much every time- best movie ever. Great job to both goats. Cheers Denise- Australia
Glad you enjoyed it 😄

Absolutely! We are going to try our hand at mozzarella again!
@@SweetBriarFarmMichigan thank you ..I just now caught the typo,I fixed it lol. I was using talk to text..
Great info! Ya'll have a great 4th of July!!
🎉
Thank you for this video!
You are so welcome!
I’ve never tried goats milk. Great information. Thanks.
If you buy it from the store it might turn you off from it. It is best fresh and raw!
I'm buying a goat that's half Nubian and the other half Nubian miniature, how much milk do you think I will get
Depends. Are the dam and sire from good milking lines? 3/4 of a gallon a day would be a reasonable expectation.
Awesome
what makes them so skinny
The dairy breeds invest more of their energy into producing milk than meat. They look skinny but are in good condition.

Happy 4th of July!!
That’s interesting I hadn’t heard of that!
I think it all depends on the goat. Now my purebred Nubian doesn’t give me anything close to my minis.
It’s all in the teats😀 this was a highly scientific study 😂
Do you make ice-cream from goat milk?
We just bought a cream separator. But Kelsey has made it with just the milk.
It’s very good. I’ve made goat fro-yo too.
Time is very important.

😄 that would make a good video goat milking target practice lol.
That’s very kind!
Wow...full udders. I bet they are a bit uncomfortable 😬 goat milk is great!

A half gallon for once a day milking is not bad for the mini. With our family that goes quick!
I do get a gallon from a couple of my minis. And just a quart from my standard Nubian. It all depends on milk genetics.

Kelsey uses a mix of sweet feed, kalambach goat grain, alfalfa pellets, and if we can get them cheap enough black oil sunflower seeds
