One of my favorite episodes! Oh that young family with the beautiful children, so lovely! What a wondrous house for them! My husband and I are of the age of the older couple, we also want something better and comfy like they were searching for. Glad they started looking for themselves :). So funny when Phil said the one property was a many thousands below the asking price, eeg!
From the beginning I didn’t think either couple would buy …..both so undecided…..and NOT going to compromise. Phil and Kirstie rescue with their wonderful personalities.
loved both families and the laughs that go with the cheeky Kirstie and Phil ..we get the belly laughs the drama and the top results ..but then I get that yearning to move ..woops
Hi from Port Burwell Ontario! I love what you both have done with your beautiful chateau. I have a great trick for stripping wallpaper. Fill a spray bottle with 3 parts warm water and 1 part fabric softener. Saturate the paper let it sit for a bit and it will loosen up the old glue. Sometimes I will do a section let it sit for an hour the spray again before scraping. Good luck!
Each of these homes have been very unique - what gets to me with a few of these older homes - that there is no railing on both sides of stairs - a real hazard.
I think the Northern Nomads were right to reject the house with the downstairs bathroom. That trek up and down the stairs would have been a drag really, really fast; it would be a drag even for young people. The floor plan didn't look like the ground floor could be reconfigured to create a ground floor suite, nor could a bathroom be created on the bedroom floor without sacrificing the oddly-shaped bedroom. And what if either the wife or the husband got a stroke or broke a hip? That house was not suitable for them. They are lucky to be living in the UK, though. In Canada, once an offer is accepted the house is yours unless some major unforeseen factor crops up.
(10:28) The LAST thing you want to put in a long, skinny room... is a long, striped carpet that accentuates the long, narrowness of that room. It's astonishing how clueless people can be.
Did you guys know that when you do something for someone ( thats good ), there is a chemical called Dopamine this also happens when we see others happy. This is a happy show. lol.
It wouldn't bother me personally. In fact I would actually prefer it. The only thing for a young family is the ability to watch the children in the backyard.
Duncan remarks on how difficult it is for a man to live with "four girls." Actually, he has a wife and three daughters, and I do hope he doesn't communicate to them that he would have preferred a son somewhere in the mix. Getting a male dog is highly recommended.
There were 4 girls in our family, our father used to say "four girls, and I only wanted ONE BOY." He thought it was funny, but to us girls, it truly hurt our feelings. Our mom had 3 pregnancies, as she had me and my identical twin at one time.
I wish Kirsty and Phil help me find a house in the UK. I am in Waterloo, Canada moving to UK in about one year from now. If you are reading this Phil or Kirsty please give me your details!
Having a ground floor bedroom and en-suite is PERFECT for that retired couple as they age.
I watch these videos because I love the camaraderie between Kristie and Phil.
Me too! I just love Phil and Kirstie❤
They are the best!!

Wonderful home for the family and Kirstie and Phil work great together. I enjoy the lol😂😂😂
Love the idea of a downstairs bathroom. Especially as I age.
Great houses! I love your program, and look forward to a new one each week!!
The older gentleman reminded me of Charles Dowding! His voice & mannerisms were so like Charles. 😊
I came her to comment about him as well. He was super nice and cool.
Love this show
And this channel!
The older couple are having unreal expectations for their budget.

00:23:00 to watch Phil give a $200k discount 😂 followed by Kirsty's brilliant response 😅❤
It was shocking, I bet it was the only singular time he'd not had a true quote of the price of a house! @@juliansydney9819
I also love Kirstie +phil❤❤❤

I think you´ve misplaced your comment! I´m sure it was meant for a chateau restoration channel?

More episodes please
lovely, thanks!
Is it UK thing....lots of bedrooms and only one toilet ...and down stairs??
Yes, it’s common to only have one bathroom and to have it downstairs in the UK
Depends upon your budget
Really true for old houses but you can get two or more bathrooms in a new build of three bedrooms terrace
I noticed that too. Unless it's a very recently built house, There are very few bathrooms, very often only one.
Many older homes in America have only a downstairs bathroom.

Yes it is! Yes it always feels good for us when we can help out others :).
Kitchen in the front is continental. Why have the kitchen at the back 🤣
It wouldn't bother me personally. In fact I would actually prefer it. The only thing for a young family is the ability to watch the children in the backyard.
Easier to prep meals for outdoors? Keep the (sometimes messy) view of the kitchen less visible from the front door?
I think they are in love
It’s obvious except for them !

@@yvonnerahmes9618 Thank you for acknowledging and affirming my point. This is just the kind of "funny joke" that can echo through a lifetime.
Is it Pound or Euro's ?
£ GBP

Why don’t people power wash their houses and roofs before putting them on the market?
Two families who got what they asked for...what could be bad?
dunkin is a drip and mikie is a pain sorry phil and Kristie, that people
Kristie can be a bit of a bully sometimes.
Never buy a house on the basis of a trampoline! 🫣
