I have had 6 month pellet for 5 years no issue like this. Bottom line is get a proper practice group and not just anyone. I started on sub Q inj then found the pellets more convenient . Insertions are easy, heal fast labs every 2 months. Biggest issue was settling on a right AI dose frequency which is related to your aromatizing. Over the 5 years I lost body fat and that aromatizing rate eased up. The pellet does peak at T0 and slowly taper, but with frequent labs you can get 3 data points and docs can adjust dose or bring your implant time up. Frequent labs allow you to assess estradiol and need (if at all ) for Arimidex. Used to be estradiol was seen as a threshold level that you keep it under, however its more understood now as a ratio to Test (16:1 ) I think. The E2 is essential to your mental fxn and sex drive so its important NOT to crash it when on exogenous Test.. I am not saying its the answer for ALL, but with the right practice its not as bad as it sounds. I have the advantage of being a pharmacist so I pretty much interpret my own labs and take point in my care. Having to not deal with needles, and frequent injections (especially when travelling)was such a win. I get implant once and forget about it, except for AI refills. Research your clinics..get MD run ones and ask about whats included. I think I pay ~1600 q 6 months for an implant, 3 labs, with consults and AI refills. If you are an otherwise healthy active guy, the pellets will heal fast and your aromatization and pellet release will be predictable. I have found its NOT as easy for guys who dont watch the calories, drink alot, lose sleep and dont push the workouts. The next thing I am curious about his Clomid qd. There are some studies out that demonstrate its effectiveness over long term with very little side effect. And since it works WITH your pituitary axis/feedback..aromatization due to very high Test doses does not occur. And your fertility stays=), Anyway- TRT is not talked about in our community..and it has improved my life significantly. Its a shame its still frowned upon
My gastro prescribed Creon, which is a replacement for pancreatic function. The bottle on the medication reads continued use leads to decreased pancreatic function. Why are doctors so against test replacement ,yet prescribe every other hormonal replacement?
Fabulous conversation. Thank you so much, the pair of you. But two major issues not addressed: 1. (around 33:00 ) if so many of us are suffering from modern living, sedentary lifestyle, not enough lifting heavy weights, too much oestrogen in our drinking water, phyto-oestrogens in our food, blue light, obesity etc. - why not fix those things and the T with it? 2. I have heard that once you start the supplementation, your body's ability to produce its own T atrophies and cannot be resuscitated. So, if someone is on it for a year, then can no longer afford it or loses interest, or if the supply of T is disrupted - are they trapped into very low T for the rest of a miserable life?
@@namenotavailable Why would your hair turn grey? Some things are inevitable milestones on the way through life. However, hormone production is a function of physical activity, diet, stress, wellness and other factors as well as ageing and we can help retain a more youthful level of hormone production by keeping these other factors in youthful mode - rather than in ageing mode.
@@Myrmecia What are you saying? Hair colour has no relation to TRT permanently changing you're ability to produce test anymore that dying your hair turns yours hair grey.
@@namenotavailable this rebound of your natural T is not so reliable. When it finally comes back it is often lower than before. As with any hormone such as thyroid or cortisone, when you supplement, the body shuts down its own factory. Those facilities atrophy. The waiting period is an eternity of symptoms worse than you had to begin with. Then the mind games start. The nocebo affect amplifies your low T symptoms the same way the placebo affects amplified your original sense of relief. The internet is overflowing with men who warn others not to go down that route. The road ends in disappointment. You won't be able to keep it up forever.
A friend of ours who is stationed at fort Bragg said the reference range set by the military is 200. So the military isn't going to do anything about low T.

I hope you know that your medications do cause symptoms essentially indistinguishable from low T. The ADHD drugs are huge offenders for causing ED. Please consider that before you manipulate your hormones and neurotransmitters even more. I wish you the best in your journey. IMO, the less pharma you put in your body the healthier you will be. Remember, antidepressants and anxiolytics are not meant for long term usage. They are supposed to help you get through the tough time while you fix your coping mechanisms. The longer you stay on them the harder it will be to normalize yourself from their toxicities.

When Mark was talking about TRT clinics “running up the bill,” I get what he’s saying, but it begs the question that what if your Pregnenolone and/or DHEA levels are low? What if your blood work shows you have thyroid issues or metabolic syndrome? There are things that Testosterone alone cannot fix. Although I agree it is at the top.
I love how Mark injects little references to current events within the show. It's very amusing. "It's just like talking to Democrats. They ACCUSE us what they're actually guilty of."

Tell me if this is crazy or not... Do I need to start looking for another doctor?
That wouldn't go very well for him. But I'm happy to debate anyone on that topic. Testosterone MUST AROMATIZE to confer protection to the biological systems allowing us to age gracefully.
They erred in not addressing the real concern that the body reacts to exogenous testosterone (supplements) by cutting back its natural (endogenous) testosterone production. TRT is a last resort after lifestyle factors (nutrition, sleep, resistance training, sex) have been optimized over several months without satisfactory results. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, Rip’s guest did not promote non pharmaceutical interventions, such as a program of heavy lifting, as a prerequisite to TRT.
Be careful since the prostrate throbes on T. In older men this can increase the risk of cancer growth. Not to mention it can increase the size of the prostrate.
One other group that is seeing huge benefits from TRT is veterans (with and without TBIs, but *especially* those with TBIs). If you’re a vet, you owe it to yourself and your family to spend the money to at least get bloodwork and see where you’re at. If your T and Free T levels are out of whack (and they probably are), find a reputable company and get yourself squared away. PS: The VA is useless for TRT and Rip’s point at the end about doing this stuff independently is fantastic advice that I hadn’t previously considered.
Before I fired my urologist and got a sports medicine doc to manage my HRT, The urologist's Nurse Practitioner stated she wouldn't do this and wouldn't do that and that taking T was like throwing fuel on the fire. I've heard that over and over again from these people throwing fuel on the fire. I replied You're talking about my man juice that I've had all my life and I do not have prostate cancer and I do not have problems with my prostate. So where's the fire? Stop yelling fire in a theater! They get indignant. They got fired.
GP PPO doctors just don't want to say they don't know... it seems to be something they teach them in med school. "you have to act and talk like you know EVERYTHING or the patient will not respect you or will doubt what you tell them to do...." Something like that. I have a 19 year old nephew (2 years into med school) who USED TO BE a super pleasant boy/man, then he got into med school and now he is insufferable, he knows everything... So I stopped dealing with him. We both lose, his mom is super proud though!! LOL
Can someone please take all the videos regarding this subject and put them in a separate folder on the payed website? It would help a lot to stop searching on the web and RUclips.
What are my options if my doctor won’t prescribe a higher dose of T to get to my optimal dose? My urologist is great and she is slowly bringing up my dose but I’m concerned that once I get into the “reference level” , if it’s not my optimal dose, it may be difficult to convince her to continue to increase the dose. Currently, I’m injecting 75mg subcutaneously once per week. She will be retesting my levels and two more weeks.
One of better episodes. Glad you made it. Sadly some of us EU citizens can choose Androgel or Sustanon every 12 weeks. Better then nothing, for sure, but FAR from great. On the upside it is covered by insurance.
400 mg testosterone is a hell of a single dose. a more likely dose for a man is 100-350 mg a week with most men finding resolution at 150-160 mg per week
The information you gave about insurance and TOT was wrong. If you follow a couple things first. I know both Medicare and Medicaid will cover it. I'm disabled and have both. I'm currently on 120 a week for about three years paid.
My endocrinologist at MSU says his goal will be to get me up to 450-ish, ng/d Tesosterone, and he says they'll have me use Androgel on my shoulders. He says they'll keep an eye on my red blood cells so I don't develop so many from 'so much' testosterone that my veins get clogged and I die. I'm distressed by this and will try to convince them to give me natural testosterone or anything that can't be copyrighted by pharmaceutical companies in general. and if not I will leave and drop the cash to become a patient of Dr. Keith Nichol's clinic in Florida. I think they get natural testosterone for their patients from a pharmacy in Utah?
Halfway through the video, but what I don't understand is what do you replace the reference range with? If it is so far off, what is the measuring stick for "proper" supplementation?
@@joelescano3223 yeah that's what I was afraid of. Not very scientific, especially when symptoms of Low T are so nonspecific and subject to the placebo effect.

It would depend on the potency of the vial, for example if its 200mg/ml, that would be less potent than a 300mg/ml bottle. The 200mg/ml would have a total of 2000mg of cypionate in the 10ml (total in the bottle), whereas the 300mg/ml botthe would have 3000mg total. If you inject once per week 200mg (usually the high range of trt replacement) it would last 10 weeks
I always hear these smart guys saying u don't want to use an AI bc all of the benefits of e2, but there has to be a limit. How high is too high? Mine shoots up to over 100 on only 125mgs a week
first of all the estrodiol test is not an accurate measurement of the amount of estrogen in your body. you have estrogen in your blood and various tissue locations. Using the e2 test you get in a hormone panel to measurement these levels isn't going to accurately tell you your levels. A good analogy I've heard about this is like if a pool has a leak into a bucket looking at the bucket to try to measure how much water is in the pool. 2. the number doesn't matter. how you feel matters. 3. your body regulates how much you need to aromatize and how much you will make use of after the aromatization. 4. depending on how you feel you may need to adjust your protocol but what you certainly don't need is to consume poison to feel better. cheers and best of success. I highly recommend taking a look at the youtube channel trt and hormone optimization and watch the videos about why you don't need an ai on trt

@@bgoodorhell4u hey mate, I was referred to an endocrinologist by my GP, so hopefully after seeing them we will be on track!
I'm not 100% sure about the numbers but the scale my GP used for testosterone was 6-28 and my blood tests were 7 and 11 (1 year between blood tests and I started powerlifting during that year which I think explains the higher number).
Thanks Jay, Rip. Interesting topic.

It's the TRT that made Rip's beard turn gray!

Fabulous conversation. Thank you so much, the pair of you. But two major issues not addressed:
Why would your body permanently lose the ability to produce it's main hormone?
@@namenotavailable Why would your hair turn grey? Some things are inevitable milestones on the way through life. However, hormone production is a function of physical activity, diet, stress, wellness and other factors as well as ageing and we can help retain a more youthful level of hormone production by keeping these other factors in youthful mode - rather than in ageing mode.
@@Myrmecia What are you saying? Hair colour has no relation to TRT permanently changing you're ability to produce test anymore that dying your hair turns yours hair grey.
You heard wrong, if you come off TRT your own production restarts to compensate for the loss.

I needed to watch this video! I’ve recently been diagnosed with low T. I haven’t started treatment yet. It’s being shipped to me. After watching this video, I think I need to see a different Dr.
I agree! I have been doing Everything I can for a while now. I had a feeling I had low t for a while.
I’ve been lifting for over 30 years, my diet has always been a health, I don’t drink often at all. Plus, I don’t eat any foods that boost estrogen levels.
The last couple years I’ve been getting weaker, losing muscle while gaining fat and, I am always extremely tired, I’m very forgetful and have constant brain fog.
I’ve tried to fight through it but, I’m like a car with no gas.

Great to see someone calling out the bullshit reference range . . . subscribed.
Read the book.
If you low you low . Hop on the trt train
What about the increased risk of prostate cancer
I don't know why I'm even watching this at 21yrs and in the 700's ng/dl.
Quite a few youngsters have low test
Before I fired my urologist and got a sports medicine doc to manage my HRT, The urologist's Nurse Practitioner stated she wouldn't do this and wouldn't do that and that taking T was like throwing fuel on the fire. I've heard that over and over again from these people throwing fuel on the fire. I replied You're talking about my man juice that I've had all my life and I do not have prostate cancer and I do not have problems with my prostate. So where's the fire? Stop yelling fire in a theater! They get indignant. They got fired.
Only managed to get 14 min in. This was a monologue not a interview
LOL
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I know lots of people like that.

400 mg testosterone is a hell of a single dose. a more likely dose for a man is 100-350 mg a week with most men finding resolution at 150-160 mg per week

Does anyone knows how much the 10ml vial test cypionate is good for regardless of what it says in the vial?
