Does anyone else LOVE the sound of Donna's rotary cutter going through layers of fabric? I find it sort of mesmerizing. It makes a similar sound to when you tear fabric. Maybe I'm just strange, but I like the sound. Thanks Donna and crew, for another great tutorial, and a very fun watch. I always learn something.
When she’s done cutting, and yes I’m strange too, the click that she has closed the blade reminds me of a gun slinger putting his pistol back in the holder, 😅😅😅
Wow😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮that is a interesting quilt. You always find something interesting to make and you are a good teacher. You put a lot of bling in your fingernails😉😉😉😉😉😉. Thanks for the video.😃😃😃😃😃😃
What a treat. I'm sitting down for my lunch (UK) so perfect timing to watch the master enabler in action. Looks like this is another pattern for me to buy.
I love watching Donna make quilts! I lived in Grants Pass as a child, not far from where this shop is located. For some reason, it’s also fun for me to see how many clothing changes Donna has during a quilt making. It makes me feel good that she isn’t making a quilt in just one day! 😀
This is beautiful, Donna! It almost looks like colored glass wind chimes to me. Thanks for sharing another great pattern and your very helpful tips. ❤️
Mrs.Donna I just found you a week ago cause I wanna get back into my quilting and I have been binge watching you day and night and just love how you show us all so many awesome things..I have been saving which one's I wanna do and you are such a Beautiful pleasant lady to watch..I just love your channel..
lovely quilt. always look forward to Donna's tutorials. donna you are a really great teacher and you take the fear and nervousness out of trying. thank you.
This pattern did surprise me very pleasantly! Normally you can tell where the pattern is going from the block - but not so much on this one. However the design, the use of all the layer cakes with so little waste (looked like zero waste to me!) as well made for a lovely quilt. Loved the colors, and your choices of quilting pattern to coordinate the whole thing. Love it!
thank you for renewing my of love quilting... started when i was 12 (hand quilting)...gave it up to work for a living.... and am now retired...so thank you for your tutorials!!
Thank you for your videos. I'm learning so much from them. Can you please do some with more guy frendly material and patterns. I have so many grandsons and it's hard to pick fabric and patterens.
Love this pattern. I’m planning, for two young adult granddaughters, different fabric, layer cakes, this pattern. For Christmas! Check, two off my list-Whew! Happy sewing!
Donna, thanks for another great video. I always learn something I can use even if I am not making the pattern in the video. The tips I appreciated today is laying out multiple squares for marking the lines and then laying out multiple squares to cut quicker. Thanks for your great tips!
Lovely quilt. I don't mind seeing more sewing time during construction. There must be a suitable time that makes more people view it. I keep entering the giveaway hopefully one day my lucky stars will align. Cheers from the Harris home in Geraldton Western Australia 🇦🇺
I sewed all the half square triangle pairs yesterday and just finished ironing them all. Thanks for the tips about which way to iron the seams. Ready to start assembling the blocks. Your instructions are so clear and easy. Thank you!
Love the fabrics in this quilt. I wish the pattern used flying geese for the parts of the block where the two background HST are sewn together. That would eliminate an unnecessary seam.
Thank you for this video. I am working on this pattern now. It looks easy, but I am finding it challenging. The most challenging part is pressing the seams to get them all locking. The pattern suggests pressing the seams open but I am working on the traditional left locking with the right. Your video is most helpful.
The only difficult part would be the carefully laying out of the individual block pattern. I am not good at seeing mistakes in laying out so my husband checks quality control.
@gailmummert1660 it’s not difficult or challenging in any way. Making hst’s and laying it out as if a ‘v’ on either side of the ‘brick’s (my term) (essentially 8 1/2x 5”) ‘v’ below. And then an upside down’v’ on top of it. The left side they are separated, then the next block complete’s it. I’ve finished one, and have two more in the works. It has become my very favorite pattern. Honestly, it has! I love that it looks like floral’s and complimentary fabric’entwined’ in lattice. Happy 🧵!
Dear Donna, I haven't visited your site for quite sometime. Mainly, because I haven't sewn for several decades and I have only dreamed of making beautiful quilts like my Grandma, my Aunts, and my Mother. Now that they have all passed away, the longing to learn has definitely increased. Today, I watched two videos, in a row, of you making quilts from start to finish. They both turned out so amazingly beautiful. I then went directly to your website and had fun there. Today, I.discovered that I also love what you were able to accomplish with your long arm quilting machine. I ended wishing I could work with you in your shop doing what you do on all levels. Thank you for sharing your talents and making your beautiful world accessible. 💖 Sincerely, Anita
I was so happy to see how this quilt turned out, I got the pattern and made it myself. It was a very easy patter to follow and sew. I will be making more of this one for sure. Thanks for this great video
Donna you are an amazing teacher. Your voice is so easy to listen to and while you do talk as you instruct you make your points without unnecessary repetition. I have watched many quilting videos during these past few years of Covid and yours are hands down the best. You teach not only how to cut and sew but how to press to make flat blocks. Additionally I love your free patterns (so generous) as well as the fact that many of your patterns from other companies can be purchased in downloadable form. I live in Canada so avoiding the shipping costs is important to me. I am now hoping to win one of your beauties at some point.
I find a lot of tutorials on RUclips skip over the cutting and pressing and it's a very important part of getting good results in quilting, yet it's often just glossed over.
Today's quilt is stunning. I love the big print border and the quilt pattern looks great. The giveaway quilt is also beautiful and has a big print border. Maybe that's my thing.
Once again Donna , a surprising choice of colours which turned out spectacular. As l often have said before you are a wonderful teacher, l have learnt so much! Kind regards from Heather in very cold and wet Melbourne Australia!
I made this last week. LOVE IT! It was easy . I also took a picture with my phone when I laid it out and that allowed me to see any piece that was in the wrong spot or direction. It worked as I found 3 wrong . Thank You for doing these videos. Your family has made my family happy with many hours of quilting!!
I love this pattern and can’t wait to try it!! I love your videos, you are such a wonderful artist and talented teacher!! You have made and a better quilter!
Hi Donna , for me this is one of the prettiest quilts you have done. I love all your quilts but since I fight off depression every day of my life I go for light and bright colors in my home to surround me with light. I love the dark ones but they tend to mess with my emotions in a negative way. Love to watch you sew !!
Ooh I could watch that long-arming all night. So satisfying! And this is one of my all-time favourite quilts of yours I've seen, Donna! So very beautiful!
Thanks Donna for another wonderfully informative quilt tutorial!!! 😄💕 just an FYI: You could save LOTS of time if you used diagonal tape on your machine....never draw the diagonal lines on the back of your material again. 👍
Hi Donna. I think this is one of my favorite quilts you have .are so far. I have watched and saved all of your videos for the past 3 yrs. I have always planned to make one of yours each month but never started it . I shall start that jan 2023. Can't wait to see what's coming up next. God bless you and Matt.

Yep, you're strange...and I'm strange right along with you, Georgia! lol jjjzzzziittt.... love that sound!
I almost commented on that but I love the sound and didn't want to come off as crazy.
When she’s done cutting, and yes I’m strange too, the click that she has closed the blade reminds me of a gun slinger putting his pistol back in the holder, 😅😅😅
Does anyone else play a little game with themselves when Donna is picking out the quilting thread colour?
Yes, I do! Sometimes she surprises me but it is always because of her backing fabric that her choice differs from the one I guess for the thread!☺️
Every video lol
Always!
I thought she would choose the lavender, but all of them would have worked fine.
LOL! Yes! These crazy little things we do. 🤣😂🤣
Coffee in the morning (CA) and a new video from Donna…..the best Friday morning!!
I rewatch videos while waiting for a new one. Every time I watch a video, no matter how many times, I learn something.
Yes, Donna is an excellent teacher!
Wow😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮that is a interesting quilt. You always find something interesting to make and you are a good teacher. You put a lot of bling in your fingernails😉😉😉😉😉😉. Thanks for the video.😃😃😃😃😃😃
This is the second time, I watched this tutorial. It's fun as always watching you put the pieces all together. Thanks again, Donna, Happy Quilting
Oh WOW!!! Donna , if you give that one away , please remember this old girl ! 🤩😉🤗💕💕💕❤
The highlight of my day is watching you put a quilt together; you are an awesome quilter!…..Char Newland
We would love to see this quilt with the William Morris fabrics.
What a treat. I'm sitting down for my lunch (UK) so perfect timing to watch the master enabler in action. Looks like this is another pattern for me to buy.
I am watching during breakfast. Inspires me to get up to my sewing room. 😍🧵🪡
Ha ha I love it…..”master enabler”! I cracked up
"Master enabler;" absolutely love that nickname and how so incredibly true!
@@robertaarrowsmith2860 yes wake up, watch quilting video, get cracking
so well said. she is a master. and humble!!!
I love watching Donna make quilts! I lived in Grants Pass as a child, not far from where this shop is located. For some reason, it’s also fun for me to see how many clothing changes Donna has during a quilt making. It makes me feel good that she isn’t making a quilt in just one day! 😀
And her beautiful nails! Love seeing her color changes there too!!
@@denisedugo4906 Yes!!
Lol, I've never noticed clothing changes! Guess I'm concentrating so hard on how easy she makes it look.
I also note the clothing changes!
I never notice. I’ll watch for it from now on.
This is beautiful, Donna! It almost looks like colored glass wind chimes to me. Thanks for sharing another great pattern and your very helpful tips. ❤️

Ultimately a simple quilt using HWTs but the layout makes it special. Lovely video, thank you. By the way, your nails are spectacular, love them.
Another great choice, Donna!
I really like the concept of entwined. Thank you

thanks especially for showing enough of the quilting on the top of the quilt to see the pattern.
Love this pattern.
