Does anyone else LOVE the sound of Donna's rotary cutter going through layers of fabric? I find it sort of mesmerizing. It makes a similar sound to when you tear fabric. Maybe I'm just strange, but I like the sound. Thanks Donna and crew, for another great tutorial, and a very fun watch. I always learn something.
When she’s done cutting, and yes I’m strange too, the click that she has closed the blade reminds me of a gun slinger putting his pistol back in the holder, 😅😅😅
Wow😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮that is a interesting quilt. You always find something interesting to make and you are a good teacher. You put a lot of bling in your fingernails😉😉😉😉😉😉. Thanks for the video.😃😃😃😃😃😃
This is beautiful, Donna! It almost looks like colored glass wind chimes to me. Thanks for sharing another great pattern and your very helpful tips. ❤️
What a treat. I'm sitting down for my lunch (UK) so perfect timing to watch the master enabler in action. Looks like this is another pattern for me to buy.
Lovely quilt. I don't mind seeing more sewing time during construction. There must be a suitable time that makes more people view it. I keep entering the giveaway hopefully one day my lucky stars will align. Cheers from the Harris home in Geraldton Western Australia 🇦🇺
Love the fabrics in this quilt. I wish the pattern used flying geese for the parts of the block where the two background HST are sewn together. That would eliminate an unnecessary seam.
This pattern did surprise me very pleasantly! Normally you can tell where the pattern is going from the block - but not so much on this one. However the design, the use of all the layer cakes with so little waste (looked like zero waste to me!) as well made for a lovely quilt. Loved the colors, and your choices of quilting pattern to coordinate the whole thing. Love it!
thank you for renewing my of love quilting... started when i was 12 (hand quilting)...gave it up to work for a living.... and am now retired...so thank you for your tutorials!!
Thank you for this video. I am working on this pattern now. It looks easy, but I am finding it challenging. The most challenging part is pressing the seams to get them all locking. The pattern suggests pressing the seams open but I am working on the traditional left locking with the right. Your video is most helpful.
Mrs.Donna I just found you a week ago cause I wanna get back into my quilting and I have been binge watching you day and night and just love how you show us all so many awesome things..I have been saving which one's I wanna do and you are such a Beautiful pleasant lady to watch..I just love your channel..
Thank you for your videos. I'm learning so much from them. Can you please do some with more guy frendly material and patterns. I have so many grandsons and it's hard to pick fabric and patterens.
thank you!!!! for showing thread choices against backing. i have messed a few quilts because thread looks good on front but a definite miss for complimenting th e back.
Donna, thanks for another great video. I always learn something I can use even if I am not making the pattern in the video. The tips I appreciated today is laying out multiple squares for marking the lines and then laying out multiple squares to cut quicker. Thanks for your great tips!
lovely quilt. always look forward to Donna's tutorials. donna you are a really great teacher and you take the fear and nervousness out of trying. thank you.
Today's quilt is stunning. I love the big print border and the quilt pattern looks great. The giveaway quilt is also beautiful and has a big print border. Maybe that's my thing.
Hi , Donna , I just watched your new RUclips pattern for the appliquéd leaves table runner. I have a suggestion - - instead of tearing the side of the heat & bond , if you just take a corner or edge & fold the paper towards itself , it will separate from the fabric & peel away very easily every time . Very easy to do 😊. Hope it works for you.
I sewed all the half square triangle pairs yesterday and just finished ironing them all. Thanks for the tips about which way to iron the seams. Ready to start assembling the blocks. Your instructions are so clear and easy. Thank you!
The only difficult part would be the carefully laying out of the individual block pattern. I am not good at seeing mistakes in laying out so my husband checks quality control.
@gailmummert1660 it’s not difficult or challenging in any way. Making hst’s and laying it out as if a ‘v’ on either side of the ‘brick’s (my term) (essentially 8 1/2x 5”) ‘v’ below. And then an upside down’v’ on top of it. The left side they are separated, then the next block complete’s it. I’ve finished one, and have two more in the works. It has become my very favorite pattern. Honestly, it has! I love that it looks like floral’s and complimentary fabric’entwined’ in lattice. Happy 🧵!
Love this pattern. I’m planning, for two young adult granddaughters, different fabric, layer cakes, this pattern. For Christmas! Check, two off my list-Whew! Happy sewing!
Hello again, Donna! Thank you so much for a new a new an wonderfull tutorial. It dos`nt look very easy, but you are making us beleeve: "Yes, I can do it!` Thank you a lot to yoy and your lovely family.
Donna you are an amazing teacher. Your voice is so easy to listen to and while you do talk as you instruct you make your points without unnecessary repetition. I have watched many quilting videos during these past few years of Covid and yours are hands down the best. You teach not only how to cut and sew but how to press to make flat blocks. Additionally I love your free patterns (so generous) as well as the fact that many of your patterns from other companies can be purchased in downloadable form. I live in Canada so avoiding the shipping costs is important to me. I am now hoping to win one of your beauties at some point.
I find a lot of tutorials on RUclips skip over the cutting and pressing and it's a very important part of getting good results in quilting, yet it's often just glossed over.

Yep, you're strange...and I'm strange right along with you, Georgia! lol jjjzzzziittt.... love that sound!
I almost commented on that but I love the sound and didn't want to come off as crazy.
When she’s done cutting, and yes I’m strange too, the click that she has closed the blade reminds me of a gun slinger putting his pistol back in the holder, 😅😅😅
I rewatch videos while waiting for a new one. Every time I watch a video, no matter how many times, I learn something.
Yes, Donna is an excellent teacher!
Coffee in the morning (CA) and a new video from Donna…..the best Friday morning!!
Does anyone else play a little game with themselves when Donna is picking out the quilting thread colour?
Yes, I do! Sometimes she surprises me but it is always because of her backing fabric that her choice differs from the one I guess for the thread!☺️
Every video lol
Always!
I thought she would choose the lavender, but all of them would have worked fine.
LOL! Yes! These crazy little things we do. 🤣😂🤣
Wow😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮that is a interesting quilt. You always find something interesting to make and you are a good teacher. You put a lot of bling in your fingernails😉😉😉😉😉😉. Thanks for the video.😃😃😃😃😃😃
Oh WOW!!! Donna , if you give that one away , please remember this old girl ! 🤩😉🤗💕💕💕❤
This is beautiful, Donna! It almost looks like colored glass wind chimes to me. Thanks for sharing another great pattern and your very helpful tips. ❤️

I was just thinking that same thing. I like the sound of the blade.

Lovely quilt. I don't mind seeing more sewing time during construction. There must be a suitable time that makes more people view it. I keep entering the giveaway hopefully one day my lucky stars will align.

Was kostet das Set für doppelt so groß bzw 120x 200 cm?
Love the fabrics in this quilt. I wish the pattern used flying geese for the parts of the block where the two background HST are sewn together. That would eliminate an unnecessary seam.
Excellent thank you Judith
