Inside ABANDONED DeGaulle Manor in New Orleans | Now Demolished

- The abandoned Degaulle Manor apartments in New Orleans was closed for good in 2012 but in 2014 they were turned into an incredible graffiti art exhibit called ExhibitBe. After the exhibit closed in 2015, the buildings have sat empty ever since. However they were recently used in films like Netflix's Project Power and in Black and Blue. They’ve also been a haven for crime and gang activity.
As of May 22, 2024 the buildings have finally been demolished.
This video is a re-upload from an earlier exploration.

As of today, the buildings are being demolished. It was great to be able to see and document the amazing artwork inside.
Were they tearing them down today? I spent the first year of my life here. A lot of my classmates lived here and the big vacant lot that sits across from it was called Christopher Homes. They were demolished years ago.
@@Nikkinu76 yeah demo started today
Noooo😮
Thanks for reuploading this video. The art work is beautiful in so many ways.
Thank you, I felt it needed a refresh now that the place has been torn down
The art work is amazing. To ask a nerdy question: what medium did he use? If it was spray paint, like the graffiti, then it is even more amazing. It is a shame it can’t be saved as a regular installation somewhere. Some areas of NOLA seem to still be struggling, even this many years after a Katrina. Stay safe, but have fun.
I believe it was spray paint, google Studio Be in New Orleans, he has a lot of projects around the city

VERY COOL DJ !!! BE CAREFUL BROTHER!!! SHAME THEY CANT BE REBUILT FOR THE HOMELESS !!
Yeah I feel like all these places could be used for that
So many places we've been to are getting demolished years later.
I know man, all the places we went are going away lol
We had an old hospital that was demolished a few months ago. It was full of asbestos and had been falling down for many years. It was a shame that it couldn't be saved but, the property looks great now that it is gone.
I’m curious to see how it looks here when this is all cleared out
The building was used in the 2019 Netflix film Synchronic with Anthony Mackie. It was really interesting how they filmed it.
I need to check that out
You should check out the old Oakmont Apts. up the street. The guy that owned this place owned that one, also.
Ooh I didn’t know that! I wonder if they’re being demoed along with these
It's very sad that owners let this place get in such bad shape that it was uninhabitable. I'm glad we got to see the artwork before it's gone forever.
Yeah it’s awful what happened to the people that lived here
I bet that area smells like rotting everything
It actually wasn’t bad lol
Is there anything left of Christopher homes? Its in the same area
I’m not sure
This is so cool. Love haunted and abandoned things.
So do I! 😁
At least you can visit been wanting to go to myrtle plantation.

So sad
Went here about five years ago with some of my buddies, you went into a lot of the apartments we went into, video does not do this place justice.
Yeah it was awesome!
@@NOLADEEJ just watched the wwl news clip it’s pretty sad, but I’ve also been to the grand theatre (the one off i10 going towards Slidell) would have been cool if you could’ve documented that before it burned down a couple years ago. 504 love homie 🤙🏼
@@codymodisette5158 yeah I was sad I didn’t get the chance to go film that
All of the overgrowth makes it look like you’re out of town in the woods.
Yeah the plant life was pretty wild there
😊❤
