Ohio 4-H board member and national clinician Terry Myers explains where a handler should be positioned when showing their horse in a Western showmanship class. The handler should always be in the same “half” of the horse as the judge but never in the same quarter. Watch as Terry shows how a handler should carry themselves and move around the horse as well as the quadrants used in showmanship. Practice mastering the quadrants at home by having a helper move around your horse and work on transitioning into the same half, different quarters of the showmanship quadrants.
