Yep, I absolutely think Natalie Dormer nailed it, she played the charisma and sex appeal, the innocence, the hunger for power along with the manipulative ruthlessness she needed to claw her way to the Throne. Natalie is the only actress I've ever seen with the ability to show us all the sides of Anne, you couldn't help but fall in love with her which made her demise all the more heartbreaking. It was an A* performance and one I don't think we'll see again for a long time.
*For me, Geneviève Bujold, Natalie Dormer, Tessa Charlotte Rampling and Helena Bonham Carter are the four best Anne Boleyn!!! Natalie Portman was physically perfect for the role of Anne Boleyn maybe even more than Natalie Dormer, but not from the temperamental and psychological point of view...Philippa Gregory's Anne Boleyn played by Natalie Portaman is too evil, wicked and cruel compared to the historical one...in my opinion, the perfect actress both physically and temperamentally to play Anne Boleyn was Geneviève Bujold...Geneviève Bujold gets the first place in my personal Top 4...Natalie Dormer was really spectacular, but I put her in second place for three reasons: 1) because compared to Geneviève Bujold she is less theatrical, dramatic, sophisticated and enchanting which the real Anne Boleyn was; 2) because they should have to put dark brown contact lenses on her since Natalie Dormer has light icy blue eyes and Anne Boleyn was famous for her dark brown eyes; 3) and because Natalie Dormer should has wear more historically accurate clothes with the French Hood. Obviously, this is my personal opinion!!!*
I'll admit that my vote goes to Dormer because "her" Anne was the closest to my view of the real one: a brilliant, massively ambitious, cunning, strong woman, who probably wouldn't have gotten as far as she did otherwise, and someone who kept her sense of self, her dignity, to the end, when many others didn't, and I felt Dormer owned that role from day one.
***** Stephen Waddington would have been BEYOND perfect as HVIII. He is an excellent actor and looks like the real Herry right down to his height and build.
Natalie Dormer's acting as Anne Boleyn was truly amazing and mesmerising no one can ever play Anne as good as she did. Whenever I hear of Anne I think of Natalie ❤️
Natalie Dormer was by far the best Anne Boleyn. They should have made her wear contacts though because of the accounts of Anne's appearance they all had something in common - her beautiful black eyes. Other than that, she was just so good in that role. No I'm not just saying that because of the popularity of the show, I've seen nearly every Tudor historical drama and documentary I can get my hands on
Mande Peer Right... but so have I. I own all of them, studied all of them. I think we forget that our conception of who Anne was was based on interpretations of limited sources. And some of those sources had agendas. We take the limited historical information and put it together in our heads and think we might know what a person is like.... Its impossible to say which portrayal is most accurate. We can have likes or dislikes (although you'd think they'd get basic things like eye color right), but a portrayal can be made up of appearance as well as nuances in character. I DO wonder what she was really like, and I think its alot of fun, but I bet none of the portrayals are close.
Natalie Dormer gave life to that role like no one else. She portrayed a strong woman without making her too complicated, blind and immature, which I think was what happened with the other two actress. I love "Anne of the thousand days", but the idea they gave of Anne was too different from the smart woman she was. There was things in that movie that she would have never done or said, and her attitude is completly different from what we can expect from the real Anne Boleyn. Natalie Dormer, on the other hand, kept the balance and gave all she had to play Anne perfectly, In the Tudors, she´s not just a young girl struggling to keep the King´s interest in her, she is a Queen and a woman to be respected.
She was my favorite Anne Boleyn by far and did an amazing job portraying what my idea of Anne was but I do not think the part of Margeary Tyrell suits her at all. But, I've read the books and imagined someone entirely different, younger and more sickly sweet. She could have pulled off Melisandre, the red woman, easily.
Though Natalie Dormer was the least accurate portrayal when it comes to appearance - her blue eyes and fair skin is different to the historical Anne Boleyn - I feel like she did the best in portraying Anne Boleyn anyway, due to the way she portrayed her personality. She portrays a proud, stoic, intelligent, sexy and conniving woman and that is how the historical Anne Boleyn is described. She is also the only one where I personally feel like Anne Boleyn's temper is shown in a historically accurate sense.
Geneviève Bujold is my favourite Anne Boleyn and probably ever will be. She portrayed the different facets of her character so convincingly: Her spirit, her courage, her vulnerability, her razor-sharp intelligence, her seductive charm, her manipulations, her gentleness, her fear, her anger, her heartbreak, her desperation, her fighting spirit and her strength of character. Just gold standard! She wasn't just creating a caricature of Anne like so many actresses before or after her, while playing her she became Anne. When you watch her in the role you can feel that she identified herself with Anne. And she looks the part; her fragile body, the dark expressive eyes, the hair, the elegance, the French manners and accent - everything is there!
I agree. Although Natalie Domer did a great job and I truly loved the Tudor series, Genevieve Bujold will always be my favorite. I wonder how many commenting here have actually seen "Anne Of A Thousand Days"
Natalie Dormer nailed it as Anne. As a huge fan of Game of Thrones, I went in knowing that it was the role that got her to GoT. I wasn't expecting her to be so damn good as Anne though. Definitely her 2nd best performance ever other than Margaery Tyrell.
Natalie Dormer hands down. Genevieve Bujold in second place to her. Dormer's acting had all the passion, intelligence, magnetism, boldness that was perfect for Anne Boleyn. And you could see why she would catch the attention of Henry because she stood out.
Bujold is my favorite as she has the dark eyes, dark hair, and spoke with a French accent as Anne once did. He also portrayed the "anger" Anne was known for in a very realistic way and her desire for power. The last not captured by the other Anne portrayals.
Dormer. She captured all the aspects of Anne's personality. But then, her story was told in more depth than Anne of A Thousand Days and The Other Boleyn Sister. Bujold was quite good. I didn't care for Portman. I don't feel she had the chops to pull off the role.
natalie dormer because she portrayed anne almost the way history tells us. seductive, cunning, smart but more importantly just a girl who was forced by her family to seduce the king but later on geniuenly loves him. her portrayal also shows that indeed anne was born in a wrong time where women or their opinions were never respected or cared about. but ofcourse u know how karma works and she gave elizabeth. BTW the actress that portaryed bess in the tudors also accurately portaryed her. yes they did age her up a bit but that is how i imaigne a 7 year old elizabeth to look and behave.
I always thought Genevieve Bujold was IT..snd then Natalie Dormer . .she just KILLED IT..she was ANNE..the most beautiful troublemaker in histiry..She managed to take down the wo rd of Rome.she changed the history of the church forever..no small feat
Some differentiation is in order. Do you mean "historically accurate" portrayal of Anne? Do you mean "dramatic and compelling"? Do you mean intensely passionate or just very sexy? Different Annes in different contexts. For the time it represented,(1969) Ms. Bujold was awfully effective, but probably too chaste for modern audiences hungry for titillation. In more recent times, Natalie Portman was very good, but for burning up the screen with every moment, making Anne Boleyn into a groin-tightening icon, the award must go to Natalie Dormer---who looks fabulous with dark hair, btw. Addendum: "The Tudors" lost a lot of heat without Natalie Dormer. Some great performances and talent in the latter episodes, but Ms. Dormer was a very, very hard act to follow.
I agree. I actually just finished watching the Tudors on Netflix for the first time and I was drawn to the episodes with Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn. Once her character was killed, the show lost something for me. It was still good, but not nearly as good without Natalie playing Anne Boleyn.
Dormer said in an interview that they wanted to make her blonde in the Tudors, but she argued the point so Anne was a brunette in the show. She also dyed her hair appropriately for her audition--she really wanted the role.
Definitely Genevieve Bujold. She had Anne's looks - dark hair, dark eyes - and she beautifully portrayed her strength and stubbornness. The others were all just playing a role but Bujold really brought Anne to life.
Natalie Dormer is beautiful, and a wonderful actress, but Genevieve Bujold just feels like Anne. Everything about her character just screamed Anne, and her performance is incredibly difficult to match. I never saw Natalie Portman as Anne, so I can't judge there. To be honest, Anne of the Thousand Days is quite possibly the best film I've seen of the Tudor era, everything about it is just so right. One of those rare gems in my opinion :-)
It's been 6 years, and I have to say, I retract my statement! To date, Henry VIII and his Six Wives (1972) is, in fact, the best film I've seen of the Tudor era (but I still prefer this portrayal of Anne, for the depth of character). I've yet to track down a copy of the TV series, but I really want to!
I've never actually seen Anne of the Thousand Days, so its hard to judge her performance. Obviously they were portraying Anne as younger than she actually was because Genevieve Bujold looks like she's fifteen. Natalie Portman...she's an amazing actress in a horrible movie. Plus I don't like the way she's portrayed as a vicious, power hungry harpy, the way that history typically portrays strong willed, independent women. I loved Natalie Dormer and the Tudors, but even that wasn't perfect. What saves Dormer's portrayal of Anne Boleyn is the execution and really all the scenes where she's in the Tower. They were powerfully acted and historically accurate.
Natalie Dormer is the best ! She created a real character of Boleyn, seducing, smart, strong, attractive, powerful being able to changes. The other actress don't potray a character of femme fatale - they lack this face and eyes look. Natalie Dormer has it!!
I remember sneaking into cinema about four times to watch Anne of a thousand days loved it but the Tudors with Natalie just blew me away still keep watching time and time again
IMO it has to be Natalie Dormer. Portman got the intense look in her eyes that the real Anne had, but Dormer is the only one who got to portray Anne as a complete human, containing both good and bad sides. Genevieve was a sugarsweet Anne and Portman was a real bitch all the way.
The order is: Dormer, Bujold and Portman. Starting from Portman, I personally didn't like her portrayal, because she showed us an evil version of Anne, a nature that I believe Anne was far from, although she had her bad sides, she shouldn't be considered evil. The execution scene on the other hand have given me thrills, although it wasn't historical accurate. Genevieve expressed a more realistic Anne, she played her in a fiery manner. I liked how she put into light the hatred she felt on Henry, even if at one point she grew to care for him. However, the execution scene was too lame and unrealistic, especially the "i have a little neck" scene and "I'm glad to die" line, and also the lack of speech on the scaffold, which was even more inaccurate than The Other Boleyn Girl. At least, there was an execution speech. Natalie Dormer's portayal was the best for me. She truly brought Anne to life and showed her true spirit and nature. Even though her appearance didn't suite the role (unlike Bujold and Portman, who had the perfect looks to play Anne), Dormer captured her both good and bad sides. I loved the chemistry between her and Johnatan and I want to believe that this is how Anne and Henry used to be. Everything that Dormer played gave me thrills, every single scene and she played Anne throughout the whole series perfectly. Dormer will remain for me the best Anne Boleyn.
I think Portman show us almost a victim of family ambictions, a fragile side of Anna. She had a strong evil side, that's why she was so cruel humiliating Katherine of Aragon even when she was destroyed, and many people of the court started to hate her. In the Tudor Anna is exacltly how the hystorical cronicle describe her, a young woman able to use with cruelty her power of seduction...
The scene with Genevieve Bujold in the tower alone will blow the others out of the park. If you haven't seen this movie check it out. Just because it is a 45 year old movie should not deter you from seeing it. Genevieve Bujold was better in the role than the other two. It's my opinion so don't freak out.
I agree that the tower scene is amazing. Both while counting out the "thousand days" and her last confrontation with Henry, telling him Elizabeth will be a great queen and her blood will be well spilt. (Paraphrase from memory.)
Yes, that scene is amazing, but there´s an amazing scene as well in The Tudors. It´s after Anne´s brother is executed and she starts crying in the Tower.. It is difficult not to cry as well. Plus the scenes of when she has Elizabeth and apologizes to Henry for not having a boy (that scene is heartbreaking), when she finds Henry kissing Jane and, my favorite, after she miscarriages and tells Henry it was his fault because it broke her heart to see him with someone else. Those are little things that "Anne of the Thousand days" didn´t explore and it would have created a better emotional connection with the viewers.
Hello l think that, the Actress Genevieve Bojoid ( l think that's how you spell it? ) did an excellent job in, portraying Queen Anne Boleyn :-). l'm Suzanne Smith, by the way ;-).
Apperance wise, I think Natalie Portman was perfect, and she's an amazing actress. It's just a shame that she was wasted with a crap story telling, because I think with an actually good story she could have been awesome. I will always prefer Natalie Dormer in The Tudors, she was just the best part of that entire show!
Personally, I think Genevieve definitely has the look of Anne (in face) but, although I loved her performance in A Thousand Days, I prefer Natalie Dormer. With Natalie, you can practically feel the emotional journey she goes through - all the stress to bear a son, the king's betrayal and her jealousy of other women. She is one Hell of an actress and portrays Anne perfectly in the way I've heard her described - an independent and a strong woman who was forced by her family to seduce the king to uphold their status in society. Best performance I've seen! Natalie Portman on the other hand was pitiful. She is an amazing actress, yes, and I give her kudos on her unexpectedly good British accent, but the film The Other Boleyn Girl (in general) was unbelievable and of really poor standards. However, it's not her fault that the script she was presented with was completely ludicrous. But I think her Anne was way too headstrong and far too cruel to her sister.
Well, in my opinion, all three of them looked their part well and acted well. But for me, Genevieve Bujold and Natalie Dormer' s performances will always be the best. Natalie Portman portrays more of a blindly ambitious girl, who would go at any length to come in power; with no feelings at all other than unhealthy ambition to become a queen. On the other hand, the other two were cunning and smart too, they still loved and had feelings like any normal person would. And they portrayed Anne as an independent and strong willed woman. So hands down, Bujold and Dormer have carved out the best Anne so far, better than any of the other actresses who have played Anne Boleyn so far.
Padme. Ha! Hands down to Natalie Portman, damn she was perfect. I think she's the closest in appearance, performance was gripping and she's got the Boleyn smile. ;) I'm with the Black Swan. Aisi sera groigne qui groigne-- Let them grumble; that is how it is going to be.
If I had to rank them in order of performance: Bujold gets first place, she's exactly how I'd imagine Anne Boleyn to be. Feisty and spirited! Dormer would get second as she made Anne seem sly and seductive with a bit of feistiness. Portman would get third cause she was seductive but aside from that rather dull. Anne Boleyn was feisty, seductive and hot tempered.
Although I'm a big fan of Natalie Dormer's performance (despite the historical inaccuracies in "The Tudors" that irritated me to no end), Genevieve Bujold will always be my Anne Boleyn, especially in her final scene with Henry in the Tower: "MY Elizabeth SHALL be queen, and my blood will have been well spent!" Also, Georges Delerue's score for "Anne of the Thousand Days" remains one of my favorite soundtracks, and the Oscar-winning costumes were beyond gorgeous -- I've lusted after that yellow silk dress and that dark blue velvet robe for years....
I competed in synchronized swimming in the late 60's-early 70's and used the "Anne of the Thousand Days" overture as my music. I called the routine "Execution of a Queen." Love that soundtrack as well!!
Well said....exactly that last, scene between Henry and Ann in the tower was very powerful...Richard Burton was a great Henry..the best...played as only he could.. Yes you have my agreement..these 2 played it the best, although I doubt many who comment here have seen Anne of The Thousand Days..
My favourite Anne Boleyn is Natalie Portman. She is a brilliant actress and she looked perfect for the part of Anne because she had the dark hair and dark features whereas Natalie Dormer was too curvy (Anne was a very slim woman with no curves) and had blue eyes.
HEAVENLY DREAM so are you saying Anne was never beheaded? If I remember correctly Natalie Portman was beheaded when she played Anne Boleyn in the film and you just said that that wasn't the way Anne died in the film.
Stephanie O'Neill I don't think this is hat Heavenly Dream meant. I think his point was more on the accuracy of how Anne was executed: the way she carried herself for example. Portman shows a scared Anne ( which is natural ) but it is said that Anne Boleyn died showing no sign of fear. At least, this is how I understood his comment :)
Whilst playing the music from Henry and Anne's first real love scene from "The Tudors".... LOL Of coarse my answer is Natalie Dormer. She's amazing in any role she takes on! Slay
lol i love how people say things like "captured the personality of anne". we have no idea what anne was really like and very little evidence of what she actually looked like! just goes to show the power of media haha! but natalie dormer is my favorite actress, and i have to go with my baby margaery so natalie dee
I've only seen the movies with Genvieve Bujold and Natalie Dormer. I much prefer Bujold - she played the role as the high-spirited, independent-minded girl she was but without all the smirking, conniving, and cruelty I observed in Dormer's portrayal, which reminded me a lot of "Gone With the Wind's Scarlett O'Hara as portrayed by Vivian Leigh.
Genevieve Bujold...Oscar Nomination and Golden Globe winner for the part of Anne Boleyn...that says it all...hands down, THE Anne Boleyn of film. The others will live in her shadow. Merle Oberon (1932) was probably the closest for looks. Each generation likes it's own film characters, but Bujold is timeless in the role.
I have seen both movies and the TV series, And I would have to say that Natalie Dormer is my favorite, simply because she made Anne a sympathetic character Genevieve Bujold would have to be my second because of her fire. But Natalie Dormer gave Anne dept that you just don't see in other portrayals. Now, weather that was because The Tudors is a TV series and we had two seasons to get invested in Anne's character, I couldn't tell you But she is my favorite Anne. The Tudors also presented my favorite portrayal of Katherine of Aragon. In all most every portrayal of the love triangle between Henry 8th, Katherine of Aragon, and Anne Boleyn, Katherine is always portrayed as elderly lady. However in reality, Katherine was only five years older then Henry, which would put her around age 47 when Henry met and started pursuing Anne. But when she is portrayed she always looks to be in her sixties. The creators of the Tudors got it right, going for someone who could portray matronly but not a senior citizen.
Can anyone tell me the title of the background theme, which I know belongs to the Tudor soundtrack - mainly to the moments of Henry's glory? Love it!!!
It was an A* performance and one I don't think we'll see again for a long time.
hehehehe when was innocent her Anne Boleyn? Seems she worked in a club while the nights. XDD
The innocence part goes with Genevieve Bujold. Anyway, i liked Natalie's Anne too, but my personal fav remains Bujold in this role.
No, Dormer dort play her innocent
*For me, Geneviève Bujold, Natalie Dormer, Tessa Charlotte Rampling and Helena Bonham Carter are the four best Anne Boleyn!!! +clare5 one so right! and he had the temper for it too. wonder why they cast him as a different character?
Missy Rabbit Who knows what goes through the minds of casting agents? It seems crazy to me. They always seem to go for the more marketable actor. ???
Helena Haper even though he wasn't grossly fat until after he married his last wife, he wasn't very good looking.
I also
Natalie Dormer's acting as Anne Boleyn was truly amazing and mesmerising no one can ever play Anne as good as she did. Whenever I hear of Anne I think of Natalie ❤️
i do too what did u best like about anne boylen in tudors
+perwin lyngaard I can never pick just one she was just brilliant what did you like best about her?
+Rihanna And Little Mix don't know there are many reason i think she is very stong and she didn't deserve to die do u think she did deserv that
+perwin lyngaard well she was innocent so absolutely not, but she was very brave
She had a seductive look about her which made her perfect to be Anne!
Natalie Dormer was by far the best Anne Boleyn. They should have made her wear contacts though because of the accounts of Anne's appearance they all had something in common - her beautiful black eyes.

Finde ich nicht. Sie wirkt überzogen ubd trashig. Gut ist sie trotzdem
Natalie Dormer !!!! Definitelly!
of course...THE TUDORS
Hands down
jainadawn agree !!
jainadawn Yup!!
✨🌸👌🏻😍🌸✨
Yes
Natalie Dormer, hands down! She was amazing!
Hell yea she is and im so happy she's in game of thrones too
Hanna M Thanks

Mande Peer yea i feel like she's playing another ann in GOT but i like her in elementary
Natalie Dormer. She perfectly fits the description given by historians, except for the blue eyes.
Alexa Elizabeth Noo,she was far away from Anne. Anne had dark skin, was tall, oval face and full lips. But her acting was the best,no regards
I believe Genevieve is a more accurate description of Anne Boleyn.
Her eyes put me of..straight away..very blue eyes,Ann had dark brown.
Though Natalie Dormer was the least accurate portrayal when it comes to appearance - her blue eyes and fair skin is different to the historical Anne Boleyn - I feel like she did the best in portraying Anne Boleyn anyway, due to the way she portrayed her personality. I agree. Magic!!
I agree. Although Natalie Domer did a great job and I truly loved the Tudor series, Genevieve Bujold will always be my favorite. I wonder how many commenting here have actually seen "Anne Of A Thousand Days"
I did and Ms. Bujold is fantastic.
TOTALLY AGREE, LadyViolet7... she literally lived that role, and Richard Burton portrayed the scheming Hank admirably.
Natalie Dormer nailed it as Anne. As a huge fan of Game of Thrones, I went in knowing that it was the role that got her to GoT. I wasn't expecting her to be so damn good as Anne though. Definitely her 2nd best performance ever other than Margaery Tyrell.

Definitely Genevieve Bujold ... she is Anne ... striking dark eyes, intelligent, strong-willed and passionate,
I do agree.
Stefania Baldi agree
Dormer. She captured all the aspects of Anne's personality. But then, her story was told in more depth than Anne of A Thousand Days and The Other Boleyn Sister. Bujold was quite good. I didn't care for Portman. I don't feel she had the chops to pull off the role.
Dormer.. She gave totally, love
My favorite is Natalie Dormer, the best Anne Boleyn ever (for me).
@Kay Young it's still much better than the other boleyn girl which was a mockery of history
Natalie Dormer was the best, brillant acting, magnetic eyes, so charismatic.
Genevieve Bujold was absolutely the best Anne. She was so beautiful and her accent was perfect!
Natalie dormer is The best

In terms of looks - Bujold. In terms of character portrayal - Dormer. I don't like Portman at all.
+Olya Shafeeva I'm so glad others didn't like Portman's portrayal, I thought it was hugely disrespectful to the real Anne.
that is not nice
I see what is meant, Natalie Portman is closer to the description of Anne's looks but my favourite Anne is Natalie Dormer.
Natalie Dormer is the best Anne Boleyn ever.
natalie dormer ,she played the part of anne boylen wonderfully ,I loved her in the Tudors
Genevieve Bujold, was brilliant in Anne of The Thousand Days, Beautiful, brave and intelligent. She had that little extra something.
Definitely Genevieve Bujold. She had Anne's looks - dark hair, dark eyes - and she beautifully portrayed her strength and stubbornness. The others were all just playing a role but Bujold really brought Anne to life.
Haha, I never think of myself like that, you're too sweet. You did an amazing job putting this together, thank you so much. I'm such an Anne addict. X
Natalie Dormer did a great job!!!
The sets and costumes are amazing. I also loved the sound work. Richard Burton as Henry is incredible and humorous in moments.
I totally agree! Genevieve Bujold is the very best Anne!
Natalie Dormer from the Tudors she did an amazing job
NATALIE DORMER all the way
bujold did a great job of being Anne Boleyn
Definitely the brilliant genevieve bujold! She's miles ahead of the two Natalies. I saw Claire foy in wolf hall as Anne. She is very good too!
Natalie Dormer is the best ! She created a real character of Boleyn, seducing, smart, strong, attractive, powerful being able to changes. The other actress don't potray a character of femme fatale - they lack this face and eyes look. Natalie Dormer has it!!
Natalie Dormer is my favorite ❤
i love anne, she has been my favourite of henry's wives. such an interesting woman who led an amazing life. r.i.p anne
I remember sneaking into cinema about four times to watch Anne of a thousand days loved it but the Tudors with Natalie just blew me away still keep watching time and time again
Natalie dormer by miles
Genevieve Bujold was amazing
Natalie Dormer, by far!
Geneviève Bujold was my favorite i watched anne of a thousand days it was truly stunning
Natalie Dormer Hands down.
Hello l think that, the Actress Genevieve Bojoid ( l think that's how you spell it? ) did an excellent job in, portraying Queen Anne Boleyn :-). l'm Suzanne Smith, by the way ;-).
+Tom Smith Bujold :)
Natalie Dormer wins by miles, the only thing that let's her down is eye colour. Other than that she plays what I'd visualise her to be like perfectly.
No doubt, Natalie Dormer !!!
Natalie Dormer as Anne.
My favorite Anne Boleyn is Natalie Dormer.
Chris Mc Evoy mine too
Personally, I think Genevieve definitely has the look of Anne (in face) but, although I loved her performance in A Thousand Days, I prefer Natalie Dormer.
Natalie Dormer Of Course!
the tudors isn't a movie but it does have the best anne
i love Natalie Dormer!!!
Natalie Dromer ❤
Genevieve Bujold, hands down. Her portrayal was brilliant AND I think she probably looked more like her, physically.
Can't imagine anyone everyplaying it better than Natalie Dormer
Nathalie Dormer, although I think Nathalie Portman to be more beautiful.
Natalie Dormer is my favorite!
I loved Helena Bonham Carter as Anne
Genevieve had the looks,Natalie had her essence.
Padme. Ha! Hands down to Natalie Portman, damn she was perfect. I think she's the closest in appearance, performance was gripping and she's got the Boleyn smile. ;) I'm with the Black Swan. Aisi sera groigne qui groigne-- Let them grumble; that is how it is going to be.
Natalie Dormer hands down!
No competition here. Geneviève Bujold. A spectacular beauty with talent. She nailed the role.
Natalie dormer was the best Anne Boleyn I have ever seen the very best
Although I'm a big fan of Natalie Dormer's performance (despite the historical inaccuracies in "The Tudors" that irritated me to no end), Genevieve Bujold will always be my Anne Boleyn, especially in her final scene with Henry in the Tower: "MY Elizabeth SHALL be queen, and my blood will have been well spent!"
Also, Georges Delerue's score for "Anne of the Thousand Days" remains one of my favorite soundtracks, and the Oscar-winning costumes were beyond gorgeous -- I've lusted after that yellow silk dress and that dark blue velvet robe for years....
Portman sucks, how she died in the movie isn't the way she really died !
***** ah ok, thanks. I still think Natalie Portman is a brilliant actress but that is just my opinion. 😊
Stephanie O'Neill And you are perfctly entitled to have your opinion :) I liked her in Star Wars personally :)
Whilst playing the music from Henry and Anne's first real love scene from "The Tudors".... LOL
Of coarse my answer is Natalie Dormer. She's amazing in any role she takes on! Slay
Genevieve Bujold playing opposite Richard Burton.
Dormer ;)
lol i love how people say things like "captured the personality of anne". we have no idea what anne was really like and very little evidence of what she actually looked like! just goes to show the power of media haha! but natalie dormer is my favorite actress, and i have to go with my baby margaery so natalie dee
Natalie Doormer
Natalie Dormer is the best Anne Boleyn.
my preference goes to Natalie dormer;))) I like Natalie Portman just not her portrayal of Anne Boleyn;)
natalie dormer was perfect anne boleyn
A BIG FAT YESS TO NATALIE DORMER
Natalie Dormer💖 👑💖
I've only seen the movies with Genvieve Bujold and Natalie Dormer. I much prefer Bujold - she played the role as the high-spirited, independent-minded girl she was but without all the smirking, conniving, and cruelty I observed in Dormer's portrayal, which reminded me a lot of "Gone With the Wind's Scarlett O'Hara as portrayed by Vivian Leigh.
Showtime's Anne Boleyn *Natalie Dormer* best Anne by far!!!!
They all rocked it, BUT if I have to choose, Natalie Dormer
Genevieve Bujold. I think she captured Anne's spirit the most: vivacious, bright, but with a cunning that was the result of her circumstances.
Bujold by far!!
It has got to be Natalie dormer
I always give respect to Queen Anne Boleyn to all posts uplifting her role in history.
My favorite is Natalie Dormer!
The best Anne Boleyn ever!
Genevieve Bujold the best
Can anyone tell me the title of the background theme, which I know belongs to the Tudor soundtrack - mainly to the moments of Henry's glory? Love it!!!
