I love, love that old farmhouse, it should be a movie set! Too perfect.I did not know that about the Wizard of Oz. OMG, I love Fazoli's too! So miss in Florida--I actually e-mailed Fazoli's and found that they closed many of them due to the carb craze and they could not stay open in many states.!Great vlog Adam!
I love all the small, peaceful towns you've been through. I live in a city that has grown too quickly and is so crowded and hurried now. Seeing these places makes me long for the days before it got so crowded here. Thank you for the escape.
i was just in champaign a few months ago but was at the university watching some tennis and didnt get to go explore. watching these videos have made me stop and look when i am driving on the interstate for interesting things and just made me realize need to slow down and look around you, its a big world out there and you might miss it if you don't look.
That wouldn't make much sense, he would have to stop every few miles to fill it up somewhere or buy a 5 gallon bottle of water and use it to fill it up... with boiling hot water from sitting in his van. Not practical for his situation.
As opposed to the small bottles that are boiling hot and have the potential to melt, leaving harmful plastic residue? I understand your angle, but simply filling a bottle with some ice and water when you stop to pee at a 7-11 doesn't sound so bad.
Thank you Adam the Woo! I can't wait to see your next video tomorrow. Thank you for sharing parts of America I never would have probably seen except if it wasn't for your videos. it was a moving thing to see Abraham Lincoln's tomb. Thank you for sharing...
If you're a Lincoln/Civil War/history buff, that part of Illinois is a great visit. His burial site is very impressive. The Lincoln home and other associated locations are very interesting to see in person.
@@peglegjoe as I told Adam, don't forget to visit New Salem, which is located just outside Petersburg, IL It is the only town "recreated" in total to pay homage to a president. It is where Lincoln lived as a young man working from the ground up to be a lawyer, a husband, a statesman, a president. He cut his teeth on the jobs he acquired in New Salem, met his first love, living in abject poverty with the help of his neighbors. Did not have a place or even a horse to call his own and walked everywhere he went for endless miles. The town is laid out just as it was then, reinactors and all. Cabins were researched in order to rebuild them on their original sites until the entire little town was completely rebuilt. . New Salem State Park, is on the net for full visitor info.
Abe Lincoln's after life is pretty crazy, filled with stories of grave robbers and counterfeiters attempts to steal his body and hold it for ransom! One of the most interesting life, death and after life any person could have. Definitely the coolest President ever and our favorite.
OUtstanding. Can't tell you how much I'm enjoying these vignettes. The drone footage just makes it even cooler! You are a modern day Charles Kuralt who once said: "A modern day traveller can find their way across this country using burger joints the way a navigator uses stars."
Since I subscribed, I watch your vlogs every morning during breakfast, before heading out to work. And catching up on your older vlogs! Love your vlogs and keep up the good work!
Your drone really raised up your vlog videos a couple of notches. As well as your use of editing. Good stuff Adam. I'm enjoying your adventures on the road.
I tell you Adam, I'm loving these vlogs more and more. It's definitely one of the best parts of my day. Keep up the great and informative work. Safe travels.
Love seeing all of the old places and hearing about your childhood memories. Though, the spider 🕷at Lincoln's original tomb did freak me out a little. Spider phobia here. Beautiful landscape. Thanks for sharing. And safe travels! 😊
It is for most people anyway a great feeling visiting your childhood places many and many years later. There are the exceptions of course when it is not if experienced a negative childhood.
Helloooo from Le Roy.......I stumbled across this Video and was surprised to see the murals I painted "SELZS Shoes" on your vid in the big downtown. I also grew up in Le Roy and went to church at the Christian church. I do remember your dad being their when I left for the US NAVY in 1981. (Grandma Woods NEVER missed a Sunday). Spent last 20 years in Branson, MO.... but, back now painting large murals in central Illinois. (Farmer City, Clinton....etc.) Enjoying your blogs. Keep them coming and be safe.
History lesson: In 1876 a gang of Chicago counterfeiters hatched a scheme to snatch the slain president’s body from his tomb in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois, and hold the corpse for a ransom of $200,000 and the release of their best engraver from prison. After law enforcement officials thwarted the grave robbers in the middle of the crime, Lincoln’s body was quickly moved to various unmarked graves until it was eventually encased in a steel cage and entombed under 10 feet of concrete in the same Springfield cemetery in 1901.
Schush I was about to say the same thing! he was moved multiple times his first tomb was sinking into the ground after the robbers tried to steal his body. plus not all his sons are buried there his oldest is buried in Arlington (Robert Todd)
I'm the same way, first thing I do is watch your vlogs. I love your historical stops. Personally most people are so disinterested in history, I too at one time but I love that you take us along. Thank you for the great road trip!!
I love the little towns with no people! It's easier to imagine the past that way! Loving our road trip! I love the way you are living your life in the present, and filled with adventure and curiosity! Enjoy see ya tomorrow wherever you are! Beckie, Kelowna, BC x
1871 is when the Act of 1871 became law and United States District of Columbia officially became a corporation. The Civil War was fought over the states interposition, had nothing to do with slavery. This video reminded me of that..thanks
You are a master of vloging, you deserve more subscribers each adventure is epic and you have found history in each little community that you visit. Thank you for allowing us to be a rider on your travels.
Abraham Lincoln is my fifth cousin. I am related to Elisha Wright. Son of Celia Hanks Wright. who Married John Dunham Wright. Celia's father was William Hanks. William's Sister was Lucy Hanks Sparrow. Lucy Hanks was the mother of Nancy Hanks Lincoln. and Nancy was mother to Abraham Lincoln
The Lincoln family includes all thedescendants of Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln. There are ten knowndescendants of Lincoln. The family line is believed to have been extinct since its last undisputed descendant, Robert Todd LincolnBeckwith, died on December 24, 1985, without any children.
They tried to steal Lincolns body and ALSo Elvis Presleys body in Memphis. You are still a young man. When you get about 60yrs. old, those old places and memories will mean even MORE to you. I Google Earth Memphis and places in AR. and MS. where I lived and its just amazing all the things I remember from the 1960s. :)
I'm sure you hear this a lot, but thanks for the awesome videos Adam. You truly are living the dream, traveling coast to coast and generous enough to bring all of us along with you. Allowing people such as myself to see places that I would never have a chance to see otherwise.
my daughter (11) and I watch you daily, we love the intro and say it all the time to each other...we critique each intro for awesomeness. We've decided to score each intro for fun on a scale from 1 to 10. Today, 9.35, water bottle accordion was perfection. Your journey is so informative, really loving the history, and we totally get your sense of humor, love it. Thank you so much for sharing! Praying for your safety and happiness! Thanks Adam! xo
as i said before, my truck broke down on I74 in 2011. a repair shop worked on it, and I spent the night in leeroy. the shop was at the corner of walnut and north. 2 blocks from where you lived just 2 blocks from adam, wow my brush with greatness
The United States is a big country with a lot of land... thing is, most people live in small pockets typically along the outer coast lines. This country is terrible at utilizing the amount of space we have available.
Another classic Adam the woo video. I miss those days with Adam. I love his old videos. There should be a RUclips hall of fame for folks like him. Great pioneer. Adam you rock brother!! ❤️👍
Everything about this vlog was so cool and and I loved the Roger Ebert thumbs-up sculpture at the end. So awesome you still had you childhood toy. Awww...
Thanks for visiting the towns you grew up in. I really enjoy the video with you and your dad and he was talking about all the places you guys lived in. I found that very touching.
Your videos have become very inspiring, Adam. Last March I did some traveling, from Iowa to Long Beach, then around various states out west for several weeks (to follow my favorite band around as a photographer/videographer). It was the best time of my life, even when things didn't go as planned. After watching your videos I've decided to start making plans for another road trip. Safe travels, Mr. Woo.
Thank you very much. Springfield was my home town. Went to college in Bloomington, and spent a lot of time in Champaign/Urbana. Brought back some memories!
I love taking pictures of old weathered wood buildings. The wonder of what was is so strong. That was a cool house and the majestic captured it in all of its old glory.
These vlogs are great... I hope you're over the homesickness & are enjoying yourself as much as we enjoy watching. You're getting pretty close to my location in Evansville, Indiana!

Thank you, kind Sir for your vlogs! Best and first place I look each morning and every time I crush my water bottles I can't help but repeat "It's my second channel, daily vlog channel, it's the daily Woo!" :-P Let me know when you're in the Charlotte or Mooresville, NC area, bud! :-D
I think it's the result of too much WOO. You will begin repeating his intro and people will begin to wonder about you as you crush your water bottle with one hand and mumble under your breath.....it's ....the daily Woooooooo!
Every day there's something great in your vlog but that's selling it short... every vlog is great. Off to find my copy of Nebraska and give that a listen to this afternoon.
Fascinating, as usual. Those drone shots are magic! It makes the town look like a miniature mock-up. Gotta' love the small American towns. It's like they are a world within a world. Everything slows down when you get to a small town, especially in the South.
It is heartwarming to see the comments about Lincoln's Tomb....those of us who live here (I walked to school everyday crossing the street to the cemetery) forget its impact. It is good to be reminded that we don't always know what we have until others desire to see what you take for granted.
I bought that surge and realized there was a flavor missing in it. But it was great to just hold that can again. Memories. Hope you are enjoying our wonderful state.
Hi Adam, great videos! We met you at Disneyland at the penultimate Running of the Goats! We were supposed to have taken a road trip this summer from Philly to Nebraska but had to cancel, on the way we were going to hit Springfield IL, Hannibal MO and Marceline. Thanks for taking my trip for me!
Roger would give two thumbs up for that cinematic water effect you opened with. Illinois seems charming. This must have brought back memories for your folks too. I bet they really enjoy these vlogs every day.
started watching your channel recently and I'm enjoying it very much. wish I could travel like that. isn't it funny how when we go back home after so many years we turn into children again, mentally that is. the memories flow back to us so quickly and happily . thanks for the videos.
Dude. Love that you do all of this. For people like myself who can't go see all of these things, it's good to have your view. Great job, man.
I love, love that old farmhouse, it should be a movie set! Too perfect.I did not know that about the Wizard of Oz. OMG, I love Fazoli's too! Another Day , Another Adventure
I'm so loving your adventure across the US.😆 I was curious, what was the name of the play Lincoln was watching when he was shot by Boothe?
i was just in champaign a few months ago but was at the university watching some tennis and didnt get to go explore. watching these videos have made me stop and look when i am driving on the interstate for interesting things and just made me realize need to slow down and look around you, its a big world out there and you might miss it if you don't look.
@Sheree Shelton - My American Cousin. (*Booth)
Whit Adam The Woo is that true.
That's hardly a "little-known" fact.
We all need to chip in and buy Adam a reusable water bottle.
😆
But then he wouldn't be able to crush it!
(I know watcha mean tho.)
I understand your angle, but simply filling a bottle with some ice and water when you stop to pee at a 7-11 doesn't sound so bad.
it's called a cooler, or ice.
Thank you Adam the Woo! I can't wait to see your next video tomorrow. Thank you for sharing parts of America I never would have probably seen except if it wasn't for your videos. it was a moving thing to see Abraham Lincoln's tomb. Thank you for sharing...

Where are the people? Every town you go to seems like no one is there. Was it like that when you lived there?
kinda mind blowing right ?
Working?
