- The Mets were held scoreless for the first seven innings of Game 1 in their doubleheader against the Braves, but rallied with six runs in the eighth, capped off by a two-run homer from Brandon Nimmo. The Braves regained the lead in the bottom of the eighth, but a Francisco Lindor two-run home run gave the Mets a 8-7 lead. With this win, the Mets clinched a Wild Card playoff berth.

This is why we need both a "Player of the year" and MVP award. No one is going to deny that Shohei might be the modern era Babe Ruth, but Lindor means everything to the Mets. Time and time and time again carrying the team, clutch both at the plate and in the field. 2 things can be true. Ohtani is the best player of 2024 and perhaps EVER, and also true that NO ONE was more valuable to his team than Francisco Lindor.
Jose Ramirez pretty valuable to the guardians... And more productive player than Frankie.

What a crazy game. I was hyped up when the Mets scored 6 runs in the eighth. Only two give the Braves back the lead and thought it was all over for us on game 1 now to focus on game 2. Instead Lindor saves Diaz’s bacon and saves the entire Mets fanbase. Now we can relax and prepare for the playoffs.
I was heartbroken thinking the Mets are doing this to me again. When the games count so much we always choke. But we did it! LFGM!!!

I think that happened earlier in the season too with another pitcher. One thing I hope the Mets tighten up on is the fundamentals. That's something Buck was really good with, and it showed his first season.

He was upset with himself for what happened in the 8th. He takes poor performances and loses very personally. It was more of a "puneeeeta Boricua moment".
He shouldn't be put in with runners on base anymore. He's a totally different pitcher when thats the case since he usually always puts the first guy on anyways

I am a met fan but not that excited that they are in the playoffs now because they just don't have the team to even get to the pennant series games. I wish them a lot of luck in doing that though. I will keep my fingers crossed of course.
