This video is extremely inaccurate. As a former 0311 stationed on both the East and West coast. The typical day consists of the following: 0620: Drunkenly stumble out of bed 0630: Formation 0700-1100: Nap in your room 1100-1200: Chow 1300-1600: Play Xbox 1630: Formation 1631-0200: Drink large quantities of alcohol. Repeat till the weekend, then spend all your money at the Driftwood
As a former US Marine, this is beyond far from the truth. What is more accurate is how we wake up 0500 and go pt, not 0600. Then we have to be clean and dressed for work at 0730. Lunch will start at 1200 and ends at 1300. We will then work from 1300 and it won't end until your SNCOIC or OIC decide you can go home. Normally that ranges from 1700-2100. The entire time you are at work you typically are doing nothing, sitting around because there is nothing to do. Then getting yelled at because you are doing nothing. Even though you have completed all of your tasks for the day, you are still going to get yelled at regardless. And the cleaning thing? Every Marine I have ever known, unless they were a special nut case, will only clean their rooms on Thursdays. And that's for Field Day. Since We have nothing going on, Leaders use Field Day as a form of "training" where they make Marines clean from around 1700-2200. Even if everything gets truly clean, you will still be cleaning. Your room will always fail the Field Day inspection. Your only true time off is on weekends, but even then that's not 100% guaranteed. The classes mentioned above are usually a waste of time power-point presentation in a run down movie theater slam packed of jar heads. The topics of these classes is usually Sexual Assault prevention and Drinking and Driving. Since all this branch tends to do is cause mistakes and mishaps on their free time, and if 1 person gets in trouble the entire battalion will have their Liberty (Free Time) secured until further notice. Oh and the rifle training, Marines only shoot or touch their rifles once a year for their Rifle Qualification Score. We were never allowed to just go and shoot for normal training. And don't even get me started on the waste of time nonsense involved with going on a range, you probably couldn't comprehend that either. Moral of the story, Marines not at war have no purpose.
Carlos Aviles formation at 6am, pt after that. shower, have breakfast. a class on weapons, casualty evacuation or call for fire. some dumb shit to make our boots run around alot. then lunch, day drink and play video games till our next stupid class on tourniquet application or some shit like that. more video games till dinner time and released by 430pm normally. sometimes if our 1stsgt is in a bad mood well have a stupid fucking formation or he'll hold us till like 6pm for no reason. the marine corps is literally a waste of funding in piece time.
shmrckmn yeah no.. nothing close to how our days went. literally we pt in the morning and maybe a knowledge class after lunch but we pretty much day drank and played video games all day while in garrison
I am Marine on Camp Pendleton and this is loosely correct. While there is much structure and timelines we must meet, very few days are actually like this. It's a fun life and very rewarding, but if you're considering enlisting or commissioning find out everything you can before hand and pick a job that you will enjoy and that translates well back in the civilian world.
I'm a Marine Sergeant and I've been in for almost 6 years. I love this channel, but holy God did they get this wrong. Very inaccurate on almost every point. No clue where they got this information from.
Not similar to my life as an artilleryman at all, but closer to fact than most civilian videos that I have seen. maybe to a certain demographic this is accurate, it's hard to write a daily life in the video and accommodate hundreds of thousands of service members around the world
I’d like to corroborate as a marine, this completely incorrect. It makes me question the accuracy of your other videos. Where did you get this information from??
To be clear, this video most accurately describes the general schedule of combat training in Camp Pendleton. A Marine's actual average day, outside of training, will look very different from this and depend on their Military Occupational Specialty.
My friend is in the Marines, his last year, and he said most of his 2nd and 3rd year it was PT 3 days a week. Standing guard for 2 days and then just bullshitting or cleaning the rest since we aren’t at war. I know he wasn’t lying because he was on snapchat and Twitter alll the time
Yeah, the varying but similar schedules of many different week's worth of training were clearly blended into one action packed day for ease of presentation.
A day in the life can differ so much day to day in the military. Even if something is scheduled for the next day you can always count on things changing. No such thing has consistency.
My older brother came home about a year ago after serving in the marines for four years. Semper Fi, and for any retired marines or any currently serving, thank you.
@BobsAndVegane But that still isn't relevant to my original comment that more or less summarized that you don't need to be in something to know about it.
Ahh Bless you heart. If the military ran the world it would be a complete shitshow of pointless taskings, endless meetings, and standing by to stand by.
Same dude. Although some working parties could be a opportunity to skate! One time we set up tints for a mando fun day and we set them up from 0800-0900 and i spent the rest of the day chilling in the room until 1630 and did that for a week lol
smh🤨 First of all most of this sounds like stereotypical propaganda of what Americans want to hear Marines do. Also I’m convinced you didn’t consult a single Marine on the final video because they definitely would not let you call Marines “Soldiers”😂
3:33 I hope so. I got 23 days till I ship to bootcamp, so I better be able to handle it. I can pass the IST, though and I'm pretty good in PT, so I've got confidence. I met a drill instructor at a field meet a few weeks ago, though and during a q&a, one poolee asked "what if you fail an event in bootcamp?" The Drill Instructor said "If you fail an event during bootcamp, and cannot pass, you will be sent to the physical training platoon, until you can, but you're not going to worry about that because when I see you there YOU WILL NOT FAIL AN EVENT!"
I am an 0861 Artillery Forward Observer is the Marines. And there is a few things this video got wrong. First off only 6% of the Marine Corps is actually in a job that relates to combat in any shape form or capacity. My job falls into the 6%. And even though my job is built and train around combat. This is it my daily routine at all. This would be the day in the life of an infantry marine. Not any other job some Marines only touch a rifle for its monthly cleaning and inspection because their job does not involve combat. What a day in the life is really like for most marines 4am wake up 6am in formation for pt Clean after 4pm formation if your at the barracks And thats it if you have a job you go to that job My job requires me to spend two weeks at a time in the field training which means I will not be in the barracks for two weeks so none of this will apply to me whatsoever every Marines job is different in this video proves that he had no understanding of this

I wish the marine corps was as uniform and strict as this video depicts it. However, I myself have never had such a tight schedule as the aforementioned above video. PT in the morning followed by whatever the plan of the day is. There is designated chow times, and liberty during the weekdays usually starts whenever you get off work.
As a currently active marine, this isn’t a very accurate day to day unless you’re in school learning you’re job, which then yes you will spend all day in class learning your trade which follows by lots of PT which is either before or after class. Once you’re in garrison it up to the individual Marine to PT and learn on your own time unless your unit decides to PT together or you are on BCP because you’re falling behind on your semi annual physical fitness tests or over weight. Other than that you are at work all day doing the job you were assigned/ learned in school.
515 PT until 0630-0645 Shower, shave, change over into uniform and ensure your room is cleaned Be at work at 0730 Work until 11 and return from lunch at 13 1300-1630 continue working get off of work and do what you want All of these times vary on what job you have and what time of year it is as in if your unit is preparing for a field exercise or deployment. So you can go by this time if your unit is layback or have a light workload or if you're really busy you can be working 0700-1700 really depending on how much work needs to be done which would include longer work days and shorter lunch breaks sometimes to the extent of just grabbing food and coming back to get back to work. If you're non-infantry and depending on your unit you're doing much less marksmanship training than depicted in the video.
Also dont forget working on weekends and being called back to shop getting bitched at for not having your anual training done and being told why didnt you do it on your personal time... As if that existed
This is pretty inaccurate. Marines aren't training all day every day, (maybe if you're a grunt) most marines get up before 0500 and sometimes PT can last until 0530 or 0700, after which we have to get changed over and eat and be at our respective shop by 0800. From 0800 to after 1600 we work doing our respective jobs then we get the evening off to ourselves (unless there's more work to be done.) Air wingers that work the flight line have it the absolute worst in the marine corps. They have demanding jobs and long hours and they usually live on the shittiest bases. I don't work the flight line nor am I air crew or anything but I know when I'm off in the evening or on the weekend those poor bastard are still in their coveralls.
Eh they get to go a month without a haircut and a week without shaving and their officers are drinking buddies instead of blue falcons trying to make rank
I am still in the process of being recruited into the Marines at the moment but all and all I should be heading to boot camp at San Diego near December tops. God speed!
Abyssinia Empire RUN .... RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK! :,v lol jk more power to you young one but TRUST me life is gonna suck 90% of the time and your gonna LOVE 10% of what you do

Also every fakin sentence has to have at least 1 curse word when talking to another colleague.... And say good fakin bye to a full nights sleeps my dude
Uhhh... a Marine here. Find your reason as to why you want to be a Marine. Honestly it’s a mental game. I hated being there but at the same time. I made strong bonds with folks I deemed strangers the first day. Trust me. Life will suck. The memories are what I love though.
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will… My rifle and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit… My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will… Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!
A Marine's lifestyle varies greatly depending on his/her MOS (job), unit, duty station, and whether they are in garrision or deployed. This video is extremely generalizing and a lot of what it was talking about only relates to life in boot camp/initial training and not actually life in the Fleet (operating forces).
You should include this part , when they are going to war my dad told me they gave them a pill which was said to make them braver but it actually made them not fall asleep. Now that my dad is a veteran the pills affects didn't really go away he can't sleep at all until like 4 in the morning
I was Airwing (yes, POG lol). My schedule: 0600: Wake up, get ready 0630: Chow Hall 0700: Go to work 1200-1300: Chow 1300-1700: Work 1700-whenever: Drink No unit PT EVER!
Danm must have been nice to PT by yourself. I hated to PT with other because most of them fell off and we had to pay for it. I was a welder by the way.
About the only thing he got right is, while in the "Fleet" we wake up at 0530 MOST mornings (unless your qualifying on the rifle range). In boot camp we woke up at 0330 but it was "lights out" at 1930.
Largepro21 absolutely not, we’re considered a department of the navy but they support us with the means which are not equipped to for example all medical personnel and medical facilities are navy and we ride on navy ships to deploy or go anywhere
lmao that sucks my dude 0400 wake up 0430 pt till 0600, weapons matience at 07 then white space training and waiting for s-1 to do their job lol...guess it depends on MOS lol 0311 is mine
When I was a teen i was working at 4am. Then came home took a nap, got up started working at home. So yea but sadly I can't join because of my health (kidney disease called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis)
ya right. 0430-0600 PT 0700-1100 Work 1100-1300 Chow depending on work load 1300-1630 Work That's literally a day in the life of the skate part of the wing.
Dude, dude, we don’t do this, here’s my schedule. 0500 wake up/get dressed for gym. 0530-0630 workout. 0630-0730 down time to clean self. 0730-1100 is MOS. 1100-1300( depends how busy we are) is chow. 1300-1800 is more MOS. After that your basically free for the rest of the day. We do not go to the range every day, terribly costly and breaks down the rifles faster than needed.

Don't forget our outdated equipment compared to the navy or army...
Also dont forget working on weekends and being called back to shop getting bitched at for not having your anual training done and being told why didnt you do it on your personal time... As if that existed
Gustavo Camarena what's personal time?
T. Blackburn idk devil my sgt just keeps talkin about it tho like tf
Gustavo Camarena Doubt that they've fun tho with the mf paperwork
Gustavo Camarena I hear you bro lol smh
Well, not a walk in a park.
They don't promise you a rose garden!
Sounds fun to me though. And easy.
Layback Studios you're on crack
Layback Studios sure kid
information to learn nope just a run apparently
Being a marine sounds easier than my job. I wake up at 4:00am and pour concrete everyday.
Do you drive mixers?
This is pretty inaccurate. Marines aren't training all day every day, (maybe if you're a grunt) most marines get up before 0500 and sometimes PT can last until 0530 or 0700, after which we have to get changed over and eat and be at our respective shop by 0800. From 0800 to after 1600 we work doing our respective jobs then we get the evening off to ourselves (unless there's more work to be done.)
Air wingers that work the flight line have it the absolute worst in the marine corps. They have demanding jobs and long hours and they usually live on the shittiest bases. I don't work the flight line nor am I air crew or anything but I know when I'm off in the evening or on the weekend those poor bastard are still in their coveralls.
Mirmar is fucking amazing. what are u talkin bout
the kind of people i dislike
doesnt use : to tell time
Eh they get to go a month without a haircut and a week without shaving and their officers are drinking buddies instead of blue falcons trying to make rank
I am still in the process of being recruited into the Marines at the moment but all and all I should be heading to boot camp at San Diego near December tops. God speed!
Abyssinia Empire RUN .... RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK! :,v lol jk more power to you young one but TRUST me life is gonna suck 90% of the time and your gonna LOVE 10% of what you do
good luck
Abyssinia Empire also be prepared for some dank memes and some crazy fucking stories ....... Get a GOOD poker face your gonna need it or youre gonna get reemed .....
Daniel Sarmiento semper fi brother what duty station where or are you at?
5:30 am is nothing. I wake up at 4:30 am every weekend.
I will…
My rifle and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit…
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will…
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!
Jericho Tropa give it a rest mate
Joseph Taylor brit spotted
Jelly Donut
That was fucking edgy. It's almost like an 8 year old fortnite player wrote that comment.
Is this why your schools get shot up
Nice video. Title needs some adjustment. "A day of life as a Marine (POG version)"
This isn’t even accurate to POGs dude, this is 100% a mix between boot camp and fleet life.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS THANKS FOR HELPING ME LEARN
This video is way off. A marines life is just like a typical job but with more restrictions. Unless your deployed or unless you have a combat job.
I don’t get out of bed till like 2 pm they did all of that while I was sleep
Legend
Lmao we sure did😉 enjoy your rest dude
You forgot the crayon eating hour
A Marine's lifestyle varies greatly depending on his/her MOS (job), unit, duty station, and whether they are in garrision or deployed. This video is extremely generalizing and a lot of what it was talking about only relates to life in boot camp/initial training and not actually life in the Fleet (operating forces).
Semper Fi! 🇺🇸
This seems similar to how my Chinese step dad described getting to school
Do one on a Day in the Life of a US Airmen to show how much better treated they are in comparison to all the other branches lol
Keenan Smith lol but you don’t have that same pride
Security forces and maintainers vs rest of Air Force
show the life of a pj so no one wants to be one....
The Air Force is tough man. The chairs are uncomfortable and I almost had to get up to do some actual work. Almost.
"Soldiers fall into formation..." 🔫👀 try again
Oh no, not the watergun wielding eyes!
The marines wake up at 5:30 AM. I wake up at 4:55 AM for school, we are not the same.
I feel like there should be enough marines to know that this is just not correct... at all
0:56 “soldiers” we are not soldiers. We are Marines.
I’d say this is pretty accurate. Not completely fits my schedule but the just of it is correct.
DO *A DAILY LIFE OF A US NAVY*
1. Wake up
2. Cry
3. Roll over
4. Kiss your boyfriend
5. Go to sleep
6. Collect check
7. Repeat
V Remus Lmfao
Tyler "In the Navy!!!"
this is very inaccurate
Oh yeah yeah
wet4sempai oh yeah yeah
LeBron James *Oh YeAh yEaH*
Yeah yeah yeah...
“PACE AND MOTIVATION” LAWL
The inaccuracy in this video is ridiculous....
Please do a video on MARSOC!!
Should make videos on everything from SOCOM. Do you realize the amount of views you'd get?
It all depends on your MOS. Most of this is wrong. One thing is for sure; Mon - Fri; you’re up at 0430/0545. Also depending on your Chain of Command.
THIS
ANIMATION
IS
🔥 *DOPE* 🔥
My dad fought in the Iraq War when he was in the marines. Also my grandpa on my dads side fought in the Vietnam War
@ELIAN ALMONTE Gimme a cookie!
Waking up at 5:30 AM would be a LUXURY. Any military anywhere it's LATEST 5:30 AM, usually between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM.
It’s nothing like my schedule
You should include this part , when they are going to war my dad told me they gave them a pill which was said to make them braver but it actually made them not fall asleep. Now that my dad is a veteran the pills affects didn't really go away he can't sleep at all until like 4 in the morning
Ray Romano I think hes a kid, and the dad is using the pill as a metaphor..
Harrison Grittman damn thats sad
Greenninja DemiGod i think you're a kid. Its okay you can trust whatever your dad says
I was Airwing (yes, POG lol). My schedule:
0600: Wake up, get ready
0630: Chow Hall
0700: Go to work
1200-1300: Chow
1300-1700: Work
1700-whenever: Drink
No unit PT EVER!
Danm must have been nice to PT by yourself. I hated to PT with other because most of them fell off and we had to pay for it. I was a welder by the way.
I was in the Marines and we never had it this good !
Almost every single thing in this video is not true
About the only thing he got right is, while in the "Fleet" we wake up at 0530 MOST mornings (unless your qualifying on the rifle range). In boot camp we woke up at 0330 but it was "lights out" at 1930.
It was not like this at all.
Calling a marine a soldier is a sign of disrespect just saying
!gaming ghost! They look completely different and the standards to become a marine are higher. Both are awesome yet different
!gaming ghost! It's not the same. Marines don't go through 13 weeks of miserary to be called another branch my guy.
!gaming ghost!
1. Marines and Soldiers DO NOT look the same
2. The Army has better equipment than us 😔
"Semper Fi! Hoorahh!" - Gunnery sergeant R. Lee Ermey
Been there, done that. And I ain't doing it tomorrow
Do the marines answer to the Navy?
Largepro21 absolutely not, we’re considered a department of the navy but they support us with the means which are not equipped to for example all medical personnel and medical facilities are navy and we ride on navy ships to deploy or go anywhere
@@LittleChurro thx
I’m In Marine Corps and this is inaccurate just saying. I have clean the barracks before PT like who does that
shit nobody cleans at all till field day lmao
Ashby Marino Facts. He also forgot about police calling the barracks, which mainly consists of picking up cigarette buds lol
It's unit discretion, I have had to be up cleaning at 0430 at times to be at my @0500 and work at 0700 and other months it's pt @05 shop @0800
And yes I know my name is boot idgaf it was like that years before I joined and it's finna stay that way. Even when I hate my life 85% of the time
lmao that sucks my dude 0400 wake up 0430 pt till 0600, weapons matience at 07 then white space training and waiting for s-1 to do their job lol...guess it depends on MOS lol 0311 is mine
My son is a Marine. I'm so proud.
This is nowhere near what its like to be a Marine.
Travis A is it worse
Coudroople My pOople Depends on your job.
Coudroople My pOople nah they’re not that strict...
@@coudrooplemypoople267 no, it's much better, this sounds like something the fucking seals would do
When I was a teen i was working at 4am. Then came home took a nap, got up started working at home. So yea but sadly I can't join because of my health (kidney disease called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis)
In my country we wake up at 5:30 for school and it ends at 1 so I’m pretty much like a us marine
Lol what? This is nothing like the actual fleet
Its like boot camp lmao.
Josue Garcia Jr yup lol
0:55 .... who’s gonna tell him.
ya right.
0430-0600 PT
0700-1100 Work
1100-1300 Chow depending on work load
1300-1630 Work
That's literally a day in the life of the skate part of the wing.
Do one on cicada 3301
watch the video on lemmino. i doubt youll find a better one
As a member of the military I can’t stress to you enough how completely inaccurate this is 😂
What's it like? I'm thinking of joining the Marines
The naps during lunch are accurate but that’s about it
im way too lazy to be a marine
akira adachi at least your honest .
I was stationed with tons of lazy Marines, so you'll be fine. 😂
We're all lazy.
you just dont wanna die dont you
neither do I
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NAVY AND MARINE?
Solgaleo and Lunaala that should be common knowledge, go watch a video on it.
Ones a Seaman 😂😂😂
Aidan Tripodi you can’t just explain instead of being rude?
Aidan Tripodi if not stfu
Solgaleo and Lunaala
Good question.
tf its up with the new animation styles looks lit
"Could you handle a day in the life of a US marine?" I hope so, considering I'm training to make it to marine boot camp.
My cousin's going to the Marines Sunday 😭
Riley Quinton mines been their almost 26 years he will be gone a very long time g
Riley Quinton lmao wtf did u say? U mean recruit training
He will be going to 3rd battalion unless he already here then he probably with 2nd.
Do the Air Force HUA!
10 Tunnels no one cares about the Chair Force lol jk jk .... Don't get butt hurt on me.
Shaq Williams when you can’t score high enough on the ASVAB to join the AF so you join the army😂
