As a family counselor and a devotee of Ramana's teachings, I would say forgiveness is the goal, but detachment is an extremely important factor and certainly fundamental to Bhagavan’s teachings. A toxic family can be dangerous to one's well-being, emotionally, mentally, and sometimes physically. We can come to understand how and why people act the way they do when we realize their behavior is the result of what has happened to them. We can also remember the law of karma. Understanding can bring compassion and detachment can keep us from engaging in and reacting to toxic behavior. Forgiveness, understanding, and detachment will surely help prevent more negative karma for all concerned.

Getting beyond the idea of going beyond right and wrong is a great goal, until then stay away from toxic people.a young tree needs a fence around it so it is protected .when it’s very big and strong the fence can come down. Know your boundaries.

If one knows oneself to be a some'body', then there is someone forgiving.

This sounds like a common counselor’s advice. Not at all related to Bhagwan’s teachings. The point here is that in any situation one can pose the question ‘Who or what is it that is hurt?’ and begin the process of self enquiry. Bhagwan’s teaching applies in all situations (including bad relationships)since it is universal.

    Dear Michael and Sandra
It may be too late for this session to ask a question/hypothesis.
If I take the train and I find myself in a compartment with three other people and during the journey, which lasts 3 hours, I fall asleep, during my sleep the 3 other people no longer exist because I am the dreamer of the situation. And after the 3 hours of sleep, I wake up, the three other people are still there and they tell me what they did during the journey: one watched a film, and the other 2 talked.
In fact, if I understand correctly, they didn't exist during the trip and they're able to tell me what they did: so when I wake up everything is synchronised according to my projection of the world (a semblance of synchronisation).
If my reasoning is correct then :
Michael, you only exist when, for example, I go to the blogs page, or to RUclips to watch a video? if I don't do that, you don't exist at all?
Sandra: in fact you've never compiled the book? it exists because I exist and so you have no independence, and this reality comes into existence because I come into existence?
    Is that correct?
    Thank you and Pranam

Dear Jacques, we already had the 4th meeting, which will be published soon. However, related to your question, I once asked Michael (I think in the 1st video of the series), if I don’t think about something, it does not exist, and he confirmed that. Also, about six months ago, someone asked on his channel if he (or she) existed in Michael’s dream, or Micheal in his dream. This was Michael’s response: ‘This entire world and everyone in it is just an appearance in the dream of whoever is perceiving it all, so if you are perceiving all this, then it is your dream, not anyone else's.’ But if you want to, you can still ask the question in one of the online meetings. Namo Ramanaya 🙏
