can’t map much - he already has a lake chart with very detailed info - probably “lake master chart” to go with the humminbird - You can also pre-load other chart systems like navionics - I use that with my humminbird helix and a micro chip to load on the info. from navionics on the web. So he has a unit that has GPS system that is then overlaid with his chart system so he can then map where he is and also a history of where he has been. Hence using the vehicle to draw out the “hump” and then fish it.
Where is your tranducer mounted. Surprised it would go through the snow and ice assuming it is mounted to the bottom of your truck? Are you drawing the map with your g2 technology or just mapping where you are on a poplated chart already?
The map data is from a LakeMaster SD card that is plugged into the HELIX unit. There are thousands of pre-loaded lakes on the card that show all the depths.
Very informative thank you brian.....
I used this same tactic last season - it's a Sleeper that produced HUGE on several waters.
How much of the bottom is mapped from one hole?

Hi Evan,
There is no transducer mounted, the HELIX is being used strictly for GPS and Mapping.
Thanks!

Us in Texas are like, "a track what???"
How are you going to mark a a spot if there’s no snow, just ice...
Leave a yellow marker!
A waypoint using the internal GPS on the HELIX unit! Very easy

Now I just need a 4 runner swapped with tracks, a trailer for it and a truck to pull it 🤔 worth it
