I have the VS3 as well and agree with your review. Works great with IC705 and ID52. I use mine with Apple wired earbuds which works out nicely. Being untethered from the radio is very handy at home, in the field, or in the can - as you demonstrated. Ha ha. 73, KI4ASK
Hi Tom, I have the VS3 too. I like that the buttons can be programmed for lots of different functions on the IC-705 especially for voice, cw, and rtty memory keying. Love the end of your video... great tip when every minute counts in a contest ;-) 73 Glen G0SBN
Hi Tom, Nice honest review. Shame you can't use it while charging. I think the engineers missed the ball on that detail. You and your family stay safe. 73 WJ3U
I have the vs-3 but much prefer the cheap QYT mic. Works with 705 great, better range and huge battery life compared. No audio headphone jack but audio does come out the speaker with volume adj.
@@TangoOscarMikeN3WS not as good of course but perfectly readable. You can have the audio set to come out the main speaker and the mic at the same time anyway. At 45 bucks it’s worth having around.
Not sure, but it isn't one of the list compatible radios. Here are the compatible transceiver models for the Icom VS-3 Bluetooth® Headset: -ID-5100 series with installed option UT-133 Bluetooth® Unit plug-in module -IC-2730A series with installed option UT-133 Bluetooth® Unit plug-in module -ID-4100A with installed option UT-137 Bluetooth® Unit plug-in module -ID-52A direct with built-in Bluetooth®
You get a thumbs up just for the last scene!😆

Thanks for the comment. Good to hear others peoples thoughts on a product.
I'm not actually sure of that. Great question. @@AviationOli

Much appreciated, seriously annoying that things won't function while charging.
Yeah, that is a huge pet peeve of mine.

How is the audio compared to the speaker built into the radio? I wear headphones a lot.

Please confirm the model number of your BYT device. Is it the BT-89. The VS3 runs $205 in Canada at Radioworld
@@terryboyle yep, QYT BT-89 it works really good with the 705 and the battery lasts forever.
Can this be used with any Bt Radio ie ft5d ?
