Now the joystick seems to be fixed properly although I still have a replacement coming in the mail just like you had. It's good having a soldering iron with an adjustable heat setting. I used the lowest setting that would effectively melt the plastic without burning it or turning it completely molten.
Thanks for the kind words! I saw your other comment too, I didn't run into the issue of not having enough plastic but that's impressive you came up with a solution for that issue, nice work and glad your stick is better now!
Thanks for this video! I just got a used vita 2000 today that was in quite a state - I'm sure some dirt had gotten underneath the left joystick which was causing it to drift. I took out the joystick like you did, but instead of taking it apart I basically just bathed the whole thing in methylated spirit (don't ask me how safe that is) and dried it thoroughly with a microfibre cloth, trying to get as deep in it as possible, then hoped for the best lol. I put it all back together (after cleaning the rest of the shell because it was grimy) and surprisingly the stick now works perfectly! The thing looks good as new now, very happy with the restoration - thankfully the previous owner used a screen protector as well which is a bonus.
Glad it worked! In this type of process I would recommend isopropyl instead of denatured alcohol as the former does not leave behind any residue. But if it works it works, I hope it lasts!

Wish I'd found this video sooner. Watched other guide, took apart both sticks, now one doesn't work at all and the other changed x and y axis and inverted one of them. I'm going to try again now, see if I can save at least one of them since they're not cheap.
I just used electrical tape to put mines back together and works fine. You don't even need the those two metal plates covering the side. The Vita's molding for the analog sticks helps hold everything in place. And the melting you did for the back circuit was unessessary since the metal back plating was already holding it in place.
I tried doing this myself, not worth it taking apart those joysticks. I got it to work, but it started to mess up after an hour. The 1000 model joysticks are easier to work on. Those tiny plastic nubs sticking out barely break easily. Get new ones, they're cheap anyway.
It was worth it to me, OEM sticks are nicer than the aftermarket ones. but I agree that for most people simply buying a replacement is the best/most painless option.
fucking man! I'm from Brazil, and I was about to buy another analog, I watched your video and managed to fix it! you are the man! thanks and congratulations. Mais um inscrito aí mano!
just want to give my thanks for seeing this tutorial, although I didn't completely disassemble the analog stick. i just took off the metal cover under it and gave it a blow, i checked and saw that the inputs were like back to their brand new state (aside from the looseness of the analog overtime though)
Cheers. For the sake of the video's general usefuleness I wanted to break it down all the way & show each piece, but good to point these things out so thanks for commenting!
Definitely! The 3rd party one is a drastic step down from the original, not to mention the aesthetic difference is pretty obvious. You would notice right away if a system had one of the joysticks replaced.
And the back of my Vita is damaged as well but to be honest I didn't really care about that since most of the games I played didn't have it anything to do with the back touch pad and if it did it was usually something you didn't have to use because there's another way to use it
So, I managed to disassemble the housing on the thumb stick while only removing the rivets from the circuit mount on the bottom and the two smaller rivets on the sides below the metal shielding. This made pulling the small contacts and the gimbal a little harder, but I don't have a soldering iron and wanted to do this in the least destructive way possible. Edit: the circuit ribbon seated firmly enough onto the rivet posts that I was able to fully reassemble it, and it's basically good as new...though I also didn't have any lube to reapply to it, so this will only be a temporary solution. Though it's given me enough life on it to not worry about how long the replacement stick is taking to reach me. Thanks for the great video, was heaps of help, glad your Mrs(?) pushed you to disassemble it.
Happy to hear this was useful for you! Yea that was my wife, she'll tell me to take the hardest path every time.. I'm also glad though, because the cap on the replacement joystick feels cheap and doesn't quite match visually. Keeping the OEM part was much nicer.
@@FantasticQuack I was fortunate enough to find what appears to be OEM sticks, but they have been in transit for 3 weeks, and there's no guarantee that they aren't totally dickered too. Hopefully they're old new stock, but that's a crapshoot. My wife pushes for the hard road too...the struggle is real....✊😑
Good! You're the right guy for the job👍 Staying calm, assessing the situation properly.. And not butchering it 😁 like you see a lot of them do...thumbs up!
The 2000 model I just picked up is ultimately nasty so far. I took it apart. Cleaned the whole unit blew out the sticks of coarse that wasn't enough. So I'm gonna probably just set up here at 5 am lol and do this. I came across your video at like 430 am while I can't sleep. What better to do than take things apart and try to fix them
Add another one to that. Took me just a few. As another user said. I didn't have enough plastic to melt back. I ended up a micro dot of super glue on each plastic weld held it til it was dry. And good to go no more upward drift.
Hi, I have a doubt. can you use a psvita slim joystick to repair one from a psvita fat? I have a fat but my right joystick only moves left and right and that's weird. I hope you can help me
Great video. I recently purchased a second hand original "fat" PS Vita and discovered the right analog stick doesn't function at all. Was going to try and find a replacement stick but inspired by your video I'm going to open it up and try clean up inside to see if that works first.
I installed a replacement stick, but the gripping rubber part is terrible, it feels like hard plastic, slides too much. So I'll try to fix the stock part instead, thanks to your video I know it's possible, thanks!
@@FantasticQuack With your detailed video, I finally fixed both sticks, I had to completely disassemble them - and then reassemble again. It was such a problem... Used a glue gun and didn't have to buy the new ones. The original sticks are much better than analogues. In this case, PSP sticks are more convenient to disassemble, than PS Vita's. Thanks a lot!
Do you think the stick caps can be removed without taking apart the whole thing? I want to replace just the caps in mine and it looks like I might be able to pull them out with a bit of force.
I don't think so. If I remember correctly it is locked in by the white piece I removed at 6:46. That has to come out and then the stick/cap needs to rotate 90° to slide out of the assembly. If you don't want to take it apart you're best bet is probably to get some rubber caps.
Hello. I seem to be having an issue with my vita 2000. Most of the buttons are not working right. Should I open it up and see if cleaning the under part of all the buttons does the trick?
Hard to say without knowing which buttons specifically aren't working and which ones are. Looking under the buttons is a good place to start, but if they seem fairly clean it might be a separate problem such as a loose cable connection.
my left analog stick when pointing down the sensitivity isnt as good (e.g down = walking animation, all other way = running animation) can it be fixed with alcohol?
You could try it, but you'd need to get it really wet to make sure it gets to the internals. Rotate it a number of times while wet, blow it out with air duster if you can, and wait at least a good 20 minutes to let it dry (the alcohol takes a lot longer to evaporate inside something with many small gaps vs open air).
Super glue will work but it will also be permanent (trying to remove again will likely cause damage). You could try a dot of hot glue for something less permanent.
it so happen that my ps vita had been sleeping for 4-5 years now coz of its ghosting joystick lol. i tried to fix it just now with the help of your video and dang IT REALLY WORKED! 😁👍 kudos bro! but instead of soldering iron I used glue gun cos I can't find mine lol. good thing it worked too .
Thank you for this video. I've had a few do this. I've always just replaced the sticks. I got a set coming for one I just picked up tomorrow. But as you said no loss. I'm going for it. Always nice to have a few spare for the future if I can get the old one to work. Never took the time to actually take one fully apart not knowing what was inside.
Yes a year later still going. Again I did have to use super glue to reconnect my plastic welds as I cut to much off didnt have a sokdering iron@@faytclubs
@@TheMadSc1ent1st420 thank you for answering.. :) I ordered isopropyl alcohol and waiting for it to arrive hahaha. Could you share your experience when you opened it? did you clean it with alcohol? was there something stuck inside like dust? thank you mate
Rusty springs sounds like some liquid got in there and other corrosion on the contacts is likely as well. Probably better to replace the joystick at that point.
Do you think it'd be possible to swap parts and get the psp toggle on the vita? I always liked how close the psp toggle was to the system, didn't catch on my pocket and had less of an opening for stuff to get into. No idea if I'll actually get a reply to this consi the age of the video, but thought I'd ask.
I'm sure it's possible but would involve some modifications to either the shell and/or the electronics. Maybe I'll make a project of it one day.. Though I'd rather put a vita joystick on a PSP, I'll take the pocket catching for the drastically better stick!
Hey, if anyone here has an issue afterward where up and down or left and right dont work. Try bending the metal contact upward, it might not be touching the contacts on the flex cable
@@FantasticQuack yeah that was the issue i had everytime i took the joysticks apart. When i bent it, it started working, at least for me i tried it on both my joysticks and they work fine now
hey mate can i use my right analog stick to replace my left analog? is that possible? I just want to play psp games and i also try switching the left analog to replace my right analog in the vita settings but the left analog still moving
Keep it and your hands clean, away from areas with cats, and store it in a case when you're not using it. Dust comes from the environment it's sitting in.
You are welcome! It should be very similar with the 1000 model but the dissassembly process has some differences as well as the joystick itself, but in principle it's mostly the same. I've only ever worked on 2000 models myself.
hey that looks to be the psvita 1001 were did you find the joystick? i can find them on walmart but they are for the psvita 2000 so can i sue a joystick fro a psvita 2000 on a psvita 1001?
This is a 2001 model. I've heard it is not the same joystick as 1000/1001 (different ribbon cable). You can find the 1000 joysticks online through places like aliexpress, ebay, etc.
So, I just got my vita after a long time of no use, and the left stick just doesn't work whatsoever, no drift/ghosting, just doesn't work at all, and I don't really know much about breaking things apart and fixing them from inside
Could possibly just be a loose connection. First thing I'd try is disconnecting/reconnecting the joystick. You're going to have to partially disassemble it to do that though.
I can’t find my soldering iron. Do you think krazy glue would work instead to hold the joystick together? Edit: nvm I just saw your reply to someone else
@@FantasticQuack Tried getting the dust off and it didn't fix the issue. I went ahead and replaced with new 3rd party sticks and got some silicone covers for them. Great video!
I have a problem with my right joystick with my Vita Slim. So it will register left and right but it will not register up and down. Is this an easy fix.
If you just replace the joystick then it is fairly easy. Just go as far as 3:27 in the video and repeat in reverse order to swap in the new part (left or right joystick--it is basically the same process). Dissassembling and cleaning the joystick itself like in the later parts of the video is quite a bit more challenging.
@@joshuacagle5866 Can't say anything for surewithout looking at it. It could just be dirty, or there could be damage to the contactors or flex circuit. It is also possible something outside of the joystick itself is causing this issue, and etc etc. The only way I could hope to know with confidence is by inspecting it.
I tried it but the springs were all rusted and could not be saved. Sucks to buy a second hand device. Where the first owners did not care for their things.
Glad to have you! Yes I used the soldering iron to melt the black plastic pins back over the metal. The process is called heat staking (although this is a pretty crude way of doing it, but it worked!)
I know this over a year old but it helped big time! I have a vita with the right analog not responding at all. So I may just try to pull this baby apart now, hopefully have your same luck and I can get it to work.. Thanks again!!!!! If I have to replace it do you have a brand u recommend or better yet, stay away from?
They all come from the same one or two factories in China if you're just looking for the cheapest option on ebay (which is what I do). I've never had issues with a replacement stick. As far as fixing the original, it isn't about luck as much as knowing what to look for and how to "reset" things. For instance if dust/gunk isn't the obvious issue, you may just need to clean the conductive bits and reform them a bit for higher contact pressure. Now if you have heavy metallic corrosion or physical damage to the carbon traces, then you generally are out of luck. If yours isn't responding at all, the first thing I would try is simply disconnecting and reconnecting it before diving any deeper. Wish you the best on fixing yours and thanks for watching!
I've been having problems with my PS via joystick 2 but they just full on don't work and I'm going to have to have them replaced and I have no idea where to go to do that my Vita is my favorite console and I can't even play it for a while it was just one joystick one that one joystick quit working it was because my brother stepped on the gas in the car and made me spill soda all over my Vita I cleaned it up but it never it never fully fixed it and we tried to figure out what how to fix it and look to see if we can find someone who knew how to fix it but we couldn't find anyone it is original one of The originals and I just tried to play a game that I could just switch to joystick to the other one I tried playing it and it won't let me play this time so now it's both joysticks if you find anyone has the same problems and you do a video on them please say and reply that would be really helpful
If it had soda spilled on it the first thing to do is a full tear down and clean every part spotless. The longer it sits with soda residue, the more damage will occur over time due to corrosion and gumming up mechanical components.
Soldering isn't a requirement. You can use super glue to get the joystick back together but it's more likely you wont' ever be able to take it apart again without breaking it in this case.
You mean the screws? I'm surprised those would be rusted unless something spilled on it or it's been in outdoor storage. If worst comes to worst you could drill the heads of the screws off.
I'm gonna try this on my ps vita 1000 because I can't find any replacements on Amazon or ebay. Unless you have an alternative website? Anyways thank you for showing this. It was really straightforward. Liked and subbed my man.
Thanks for the sub! The 1000 joysticks are apparently much harder to come by. This one looks promising, but not cheap! Might as well try to fix yours (it's broken anyway, right?) and then buy this if you can't get it working. www.aliexpress.com/item/4000650372675.html?spm=a2g0o.search0302.0.0.7ccf3d73XJXvpt&algo_pvid=129127f8-e706-4159-b1c5-bb204ce90b9a&algo_expid=129127f8-e706-4159-b1c5-bb204ce90b9a-3&btsid=0b0a555416119412023351457e3711&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
If you take it apart far enough to see those contacts you might as well go all the way and clean the whole thing. Did you see that dust bunny I pulled out at 6:52? Personally would rather not have stuff like that hanging out to cause a problem later. Thanks for watching!

@@FantasticQuack I was able to connect it back without the plates but the drift was worse than before haha so I had to replace it with a new one, all good. Thanks for the tutorial 🦆
I assume you mean motion controls. Could be a bad gyro or accelerometer--not entirely sure but I think these may be mounted on the main board which means they are probably very hard to find replacement parts for. So the easiest option would be a new main board.
Do not do what this guy suggests. You do not need to move the ribbon cable attachments to get to the guts. This applies to the vita 1000 & 2000. There is enough slack in the 1000 where you only need to lift the upper ribbon and then the upper plastic lifts and rotates out. The 2000, there are two tiny nubs that need to be lifted outward and the black plastic cap can be fully removed without cutting away the expanded plastic ribbon stays
@@FantasticQuack I could've handled the side heat stake with a little more grace on the 2000, but it is just a secondary mechanism to hold the top plastic flap on. Sony could have done without the tiny heat stakes if it used the 8 sided metal lid like the 1000. My goal in reassembly was simply to put things back the way that I found them. Glad to hear yours is working!
This is why im learning to fix electronics, microchip related.
nice
fucking man! I'm from Brazil, and I was about to buy another analog, I watched your video and managed to fix it! you are the man! thanks and congratulations. Mais um inscrito aí mano!
Glad it worked out! Cheers my dude
just want to give my thanks for seeing this tutorial, although I didn't completely disassemble the analog stick. i just took off the metal cover under it and gave it a blow, i checked and saw that the inputs were like back to their brand new state (aside from the looseness of the analog overtime though)
Glad the video could help and that you got yours fixed, nice job!
Great tutorial!!! It worked for me. I must add isn't necessary to remove the plastic holders under the stick. You can keep them
Cheers. For the sake of the video's general usefuleness I wanted to break it down all the way & show each piece, but good to point these things out so thanks for commenting!
Man, I managed to fix mine and it feels great to DIY!!!! thanks brother.
Right on, thanks for watching!
Well now I plan on trying this on a 1001 white model I got coming in! Seems easy enough and probably much better then buying a third party one
Definitely! The 3rd party one is a drastic step down from the original, not to mention the aesthetic difference is pretty obvious. You would notice right away if a system had one of the joysticks replaced.
Katie keeps you a perfectionist
Super true!
And the back of my Vita is damaged as well but to be honest I didn't really care about that since most of the games I played didn't have it anything to do with the back touch pad and if it did it was usually something you didn't have to use because there's another way to use it
Hope you can get it fixed!
Just realised that the vita 1000 used hall effect sticks as opposed to the 2000.
Interesting I didn't know that, but would make sense then why 1000 sticks are so expensive in comparison!
@@FantasticQuack Also explains why they don't get stick drift but ghost if the sensor gets obstructed.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching. Cheers!
Glad to hear you got it working!
I still have my vita modded and all still going strong ,I still got the new stick as well lol sitting put up for if I ever need it.@@FantasticQuack
8:28 i cant get this thing back on. Can someone help me? :(
Bonjour fantastic quak pour un drift je suis pas obligé de démonte le stick analogique entièrement !? Du coup 😖
Hello! You can try cleaning with compressed air and alcohol from the outside which might work depending on how dirty it is inside.
Hi, I have a doubt.
can you use a psvita slim joystick to repair one from a psvita fat?
I have a fat but my right joystick only moves left and right and that's weird.
I hope you can help me
Unfortunately the 1000 and 2000 models have slightly different joysticks and they're not interchangeable.
Hey man what tool use in 7:40? And can i use a small knife in this part 5:01?
Hello!
@ 7:40 the tool is a soldering iron.
@ 5:01 a small knife is exactly what I'm using (Xacto knife)
Hope that helps :)
@@FantasticQuack ohh ok thanks! I guess imma just replace my left joystick i dont have soldering iron
@@FantasticQuack hey mate can i use my right analog stick to replace my left analog? is that possible?

Great video. I recently purchased a second hand original "fat" PS Vita and discovered the right analog stick doesn't function at all. Was going to try and find a replacement stick but inspired by your video I'm going to open it up and try clean up inside to see if that works first.
Thank you! Good attitude, if it's not working right now you don't have much to lose by trying!
I installed a replacement stick, but the gripping rubber part is terrible, it feels like hard plastic, slides too much. So I'll try to fix the stock part instead, thanks to your video I know it's possible, thanks!
Aftermarket sticks always feel like crap compared to OEM, I hope you can get your original stick working!
Thanks for video, btw what exactly tool did you use in this moment 7:43?
That's a soldering iron
@@FantasticQuack Can I use a glue gun instead of soldering iron?
@@MrSyavikua i think that should work
@@FantasticQuack With your detailed video, I finally fixed both sticks, I had to completely disassemble them - and then reassemble again.
@@FantasticQuack I see. Thank you. I didn't notice you rotating the cap at first but I took another look and see it now.
I am amazed it worked. I guess CO cleaner and compressed air is the key?. I lost my original nub since i replaced it with a cheap stick.
The key was removing the ball of dust and hair trapped inside of it. Cleaning and compressed air are essential for sure
2:04 What function the thing you show if it we dont assemble it back it will be okay?
That connects the rear touch pad. If you don't reconnect it then the touch pad will not work.
@@FantasticQuack I cleaned up underneath all the buttons so when I get a game I'll try the buttons out.
my left analog stick when pointing down the sensitivity isnt as good (e.g down = walking animation, all other way = running animation) can it be fixed with alcohol?
You could try it, but you'd need to get it really wet to make sure it gets to the internals. Rotate it a number of times while wet, blow it out with air duster if you can, and wait at least a good 20 minutes to let it dry (the alcohol takes a lot longer to evaporate inside something with many small gaps vs open air).
Thanks. I'm going to order a replacement now and try and fix it.
You bet, I hope it works out!
this is what you love to see, really nice work man ! fix, not throw away :3
Thank you! Glad we feel the same way :)
Amigo, dónde puedo conseguir los parlantes de la psv ? Es q no los consigo por ningún lado. Y menos acá en Colombia
I can't find any online either. Might have to resort to buying a broken unit to strip for parts :/
What else can you use if you dont have a soldering iron to get the metal stiffner back on (or whatever that metal piece is called)?
Super glue will work but it will also be permanent (trying to remove again will likely cause damage). You could try a dot of hot glue for something less permanent.
@@FantasticQuack alright thanks
it so happen that my ps vita had been sleeping for 4-5 years now coz of its ghosting joystick lol. i tried to fix it just now with the help of your video and dang IT REALLY WORKED! 😁👍 kudos bro! but instead of soldering iron I used glue gun cos I can't find mine lol. good thing it worked too .
Glad to hear this, nice job!
Thank you for this video. I've had a few do this. I've always just replaced the sticks. I got a set coming for one I just picked up tomorrow. But as you said no loss. I'm going for it. Always nice to have a few spare for the future if I can get the old one to work. Never took the time to actually take one fully apart not knowing what was inside.

did you sucess? i will do it too pls answer
My ps vita has the exact same problem, now i know it can be fixed :) thanks a lot man!
Glad I could help!
currently struggling with that, found out how rusty the springs were!! couldn't figure out how to fix that how ever
Do you know what to do if your joystick just won't respond I can't play the game I want
If you're not getting any response at all I'd recommend replacing the joystick.
Hey, if anyone here has an issue afterward where up and down or left and right dont work. Try bending the metal contact upward, it might not be touching the contacts on the flex cable
You're talking about bending the tiny contacts on the ZIF connector? Did you have this problem and that worked for you?
@@FantasticQuack yeah that was the issue i had everytime i took the joysticks apart. When i bent it, it started working, at least for me i tried it on both my joysticks and they work fine now
hey mate can i use my right analog stick to replace my left analog? is that possible? I just want to play psp games and i also try switching the left analog to replace my right analog in the vita settings but the left analog still moving
You can on vita slim/2000 but I think the joysticks are different/unique parts on the 1000 series.
@@FantasticQuack Thanks :D i been waiting for your comment because im afraid to swap it i have a vita 2000 again thanks!
How can i avoid it happening again though? Where does the dust come from?
Keep it and your hands clean, away from areas with cats, and store it in a case when you're not using it. Dust comes from the environment it's sitting in.
Just replace my right vita analog based on your vid, thanks to you bro!!
Glad I could help!
hey can you show how to fix the D pad for a ps vita 1000
I'd love to but haven't found a unit with that problem yet. If/when I come across it I'll make a vid for sure.
Con que nombre y dónde se consiguen los parlantes de la psv 2000? Gracias amigo
I can't find any replacement speakers online. Might have to resort to buying a broken unit to strip for parts :/
Thank you so much.Is the method the same for product number 100?
Do you think that switch lite analog stick drift can also be done like this one? It does look similar
The switch joystick is a bit different. Drift can occur for more than one reason so it is hard to say for sure, but may be worth a try.
You're going to have to partially disassemble it to do that though.
can the analog from the vita 1000 work on the vita 2000?
I believe the parts are different
ok thanks
Well done
Did it start drifting again ?
This was my cousin's. He plays it all the time to this day and has not reported any further issue since this fix.
Hello friend, do you think that a psvita slim joystick can be adapted to a psvita fat just by changing that flex? I wait your answer! greetings
Hi there, I'm not certain but it would depend on whether the resistance of the carbon coating is the same between the two stick models.
Perfect video
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can’t find my soldering iron. Do you think krazy glue would work instead to hold the joystick together?
Edit: nvm I just saw your reply to someone else
Can i use glu bro??
@@pixanedwin8847 Yep! Just make sure to hold the pieces on while the glue dries
Super glue will work but you probably won't be able to open it again after that without damaging it.

I did this a long time ago after my vita joystick is ghosting and it works for me

I would say both my joysticks are like your other video that you made of this after this one
Sometimes replacing a problem joystick is the easiest path.
i just tried this .. not enough plastic to weld .. will use a small amount of A B Epoxy adhesive and see how it goes.
Hope you can get it fixed!
why do i only have sound on one of my speakers on my headsets? and its not my headset i quickly went to another youtube video and its working
One other commentor said this too. It works fine in my headphones so I'm not sure what the problem is or why it's inconsistent.
@@FantasticQuack ok thank you
@@FantasticQuack do you possibly know what could be wrong with the joystick with it no registering up and down
@@joshuacagle5866 Can't say anything for surewithout looking at it. It could just be dirty, or there could be damage to the contactors or flex circuit. It is also possible something outside of the joystick itself is causing this issue, and etc etc. The only way I could hope to know with confidence is by inspecting it.
@@FantasticQuack ok. I’m just curious about it because I did just buy it
I tried it but the springs were all rusted and could not be saved. Sucks to buy a second hand device. Where the first owners did not care for their things.
Oof hopefully everything else is okay, in which case replacement Vita sticks are fairly cheap and decent quality from what I've seen.
i sub,,because you fix it..thanks...did you use a soldering wire to solder the metal and the plastic? im no good in soldering
Glad to have you! Yes I used the soldering iron to melt the black plastic pins back over the metal. The process is called heat staking (although this is a pretty crude way of doing it, but it worked!)
@@FantasticQuack do you think some superglue would do the trick instead?
@@manboy7773 I do! Epoxy would be even better long term. In any case you'd want to clamp it in place while the adhesive cures.
@@FantasticQuack Thank u sho much I appreciate it!

Me gustaría arreglar el mío pero no tengo como soldar ese el problema
Soldering isn't a requirement. You can use super glue to get the joystick back together but it's more likely you wont' ever be able to take it apart again without breaking it in this case.
Damn it i try to do this now but man its so hard to remove the nails! My vita is 6 years old so the nails is rust now
You mean the screws?

Aliexpress has loads of replacement parts. But I'd go with this guy in the video
You dont really need to completely dismantle the joystick and clean every peace, just the contacts of the two potentiometers.
If you take it apart far enough to see those contacts you might as well go all the way and clean the whole thing. Did you see that dust bunny I pulled out at 6:52? Personally would rather not have stuff like that hanging out to cause a problem later. Thanks for watching!

Double check it's plugged in correctly. If it's still not working the flex cable was likely damaged.
g sensor not working plss help
what should i do?
I assume you mean motion controls. Could be a bad gyro or accelerometer--not entirely sure but I think these may be mounted on the main board which means they are probably very hard to find replacement parts for. So the easiest option would be a new main board.
Can i use glu or silicone?
For what exactly?
Do not do what this guy suggests. You do not need to move the ribbon cable attachments to get to the guts. This applies to the vita 1000 & 2000. There is enough slack in the 1000 where you only need to lift the upper ribbon and then the upper plastic lifts and rotates out. The 2000, there are two tiny nubs that need to be lifted outward and the black plastic cap can be fully removed without cutting away the expanded plastic ribbon stays
Would love to see your video Spectre. Without cutting the heat stakes you're gonna risk damaging the flex trying to force it out.
@@FantasticQuack I could've handled the side heat stake with a little more grace on the 2000, but it is just a secondary mechanism to hold the top plastic flap on. Sony could have done without the tiny heat stakes if it used the 8 sided metal lid like the 1000. I love the fat vitas
