Imam Ahmad se haath rakhne ke hawale se chaar mukhtalif rivayatain milti hain: 1. Naaf ke neeche haath rakhna: Imam Ahmad ka khud yeh kehna tha ke haath naaf ke neeche rakhne chahiye. Al Muzani ne riwayat kiya ke unhone kaha: “(Haath rakhne chahiye) naaf se thoda neeche.” Abu Talib ne poocha ke haath kahan rakhne chahiye, to Imam Ahmad ne jawab diya: “Naaf ke upar ya neeche” [Bada’i’ Al-Fawa’id 3/91]. Naaf ke neeche ya chhaati ke neeche ka ikhtiyar: Yeh al-Kawsaj ne riwayat kiya [Masa’il al-Kawsaj 211]. 4. Haath ko pehlu mein chor dena (sadl): Yeh Ibn Muflih ne Al-Furu’ mein likha hai [2/168]. Imam Ahmad se chhaati par haath rakhne ki koi riwayat nahi hai. Balki Abu Dawud ke mutabiq unhone farmaya: “Chhaati par haath rakhna makrooh hai” [Masa’il Abi Dawud 221]. Yeh hi Al-Muzani ne bhi likha [Bada’i’ Al-Fawa’id 3/91]. Ibn Muflih kehte hain: “Aur chhaati par haath rakhna makrooh hai. Imam Ahmad ne isay khud bayan kiya, halan ke woh is hadith se waaqif the” [Al-Furu’ 2/169]. Sheikh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah ka bhi yeh hi raai thi ke haath naaf ke neeche ya upar rakhne chahiye, lekin chhaati par rakhna makrooh hai [Sharh Al-Umdah 2/662]. Ibn Qayyim bhi naaf ke neeche rakhne ke mawaqif ke ma’il lagte hain, aur unhone Imam Ahmad ke chhaati par haath rakhne ke makrooh hone ka zikr kiya hai [Zad Al-Ma’ad 1/222]. Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab aur pehle ke Najdi ulama ka bhi yeh mawqif tha ke haath naaf ke neeche rakhne chahiye [Mukhtasar Al-Insaf wa Al-Sharh Al-Kabeer pg 117, Ad-Durar As-Saniyyah 4/283]. Chhaati par haath rakhne ke hawale se salaf se koi riwayat nahi milti. Balki unmein se kuch ne isay naapasand kiya hai. Ibn Abi Shaybah (3953) ne Sa’eed bin Jubayr ka zikr kiya ke unhone ek aadmi ko salah mein haath dusre haath par rakhta dekha to uske haath alag kar diye. Imam Ahmad se yeh riwayat hai ke Sa’eed ne aise is liye kiya kyunki aadmi ne chhaati par haath rakhe thay. Al-Kawsaj ka zikr hai ke Ishaq bin Rahawayh dua ke waqt haathon ko chhaati ke upar ya neeche rakhte thay, lekin salah ke dauran haath naaf ke neeche rakhne ko pasand karte thay [Masa’il Al-Kawsaj 211]. Yeh saari daleelain iss baat par zor deti hain ke Hanbali madhhab mein naaf ke neeche haath rakhna afzal samjha gaya hai aur chhaati par rakhne ko makrooh.
