Nice meeting you in person Mike and Sybilline Records is in Pasadena. Glad you had a great time here in Los Angeles, one of the best cities for record shopping ☝
Nice meeting you.. that Sonic Youth mofi was on the wall at Record Safari for awhile.. those Blue Notes from that store in Pasadena have been so clean.. grabbed many OG 4200 series titles that I was missing as well as earlier reissues..
Btw, very good video and audio quality in your videos for a while now. Just so you know that your efforts to improve the A/V part of your videos didn’t go unnoticed :D
Hey Mike - This newer video setup you have on this video is the best one you have to date. The sound is great, the ambiance (background and the table) fits really well, and the lighting is perfect. Definitely a keeper!
Mike, great video. There is a jazz fusion artist whose album is super rare from the late 70s and his name is Larry Bright, the album is Solar Vision. This album is hard to find already, but extremely hard to find without a torn cover, it seems to command a few hundred dollars. I got lucky and found one in the condition of that Curtis Mayfield that you showed and like you, I’m not selling it. I look for this album in this condition for 3-4 years. It is so much fun finding a grail!!!
Thank you for all you do in the VC Mike! Your experience and opinions are valued. I've seen Al Di Meola live and I can completely relate to your experience with Anthony! *Edited* JHC Mike, score!!!! Merry Christmas!
Thanks Mike. Obviously you love music and enjoy live shows. I knew great people that owned record stores that weren't into the music, it was only there business. That was cool if that's their thing but your different. Keep rockN.
LA has some great stores, next time go to San Diego. Stereo Unlimited and Folk Arts are local institutions, and both have been running for over half a century. The owners of both are great people as well
I didn't even know that Mofi has done Sonic Youth album. About 10 years ago I ran into Sisters Of Mercy: First And Last And Always Mofi pressing. Was used for 15 euros so good got good deal on that
A Dealer friend of mine claims that when used to go to the West Coast to buy Records, a lot of the stores have nothing because the Japanese dealers had cleaned them out.
80 degrees and you are from Phoenix???????????? I was in Phoenix for a few days in June several years ago. It was over 100 degrees in the mornings and we couldn't leave the hotel during the day.
I noticed that he places all his records outside the jacket, Is this the best way to store a record? Figure this guy knows what’s best? Someone educate me
I believe its to prevent ring wear and seam splitting especially during moving or shipping, at the expense of needing a little extra shelf space due to the extra width

Next time you head out here, you need to visit Deadly Wax in Chatsworth! You'll have a great time!
Good to see your mojo back Mike... love the Moon Rappin' reissue.
Great haul! I love shopping in Cali, so many great records that I can’t get at home. Calendars bookmarked, looking forward to the storytelling!

Sonic youth mobile Fidelity SoundLab is an oxymoron.
We need a 4x12" single-sided 45rpm one-step of TV Shit.
Man that Who record is super high on my want list!
"I went with Kevin Gray" 😮
Sweet, an original Ghetto Music. I saw one once on a wall. I forget how much they wanted.
He’s a great guitar player, played for Diana Krall
Great video

I have the MFSL Goo number 2144, so my guess is they made at least 2500 of them.
I found a VG+ Barman for $6 recently. Gave it to a friendto sell at his shop.
I am still working on completing the Korvettes 'F' code series. I feel like I have a long way to go.
That original Duke Pearson Christmas record is very cool. Same with Jack McDuff. ♥️ I can't wait to hear about the big secret. 😀
What was the name of the night club?

May I ask, what was the name of the club in LA that you saw them at? Thank you for sharing.
It was Bacchus Kitchen in Pasadena. They did two nights there on June 28th and June 29th. Found the details on Jeff Hamilton’s site.
@@Bennyplays Much appreciated for you letting me know. Thank you my friend.
Time for a Lana Del Rey collection video?
Fingers crosssed Kevin is not mastering another Sabbath pressing!! lol
What was the name of the club where you saw Anthony Wilson ?
Bacchus Kitchen
12:31 😂😂
I also needed that variant cover of Norman f Rockwell but only because the official cover is one of my least favorite cover arts I’ve ever seen
MFSL Sonic Youth? Was that an Anadisc?
Yes.
Best Lana pressing?
Man you hurt my feelings man, you never come see me I’m two hours down from Smell A
I spent enough time driving over the course of three days.
Rob Waxed?! 👥
Yes!
Is it Rubber Soul? Huh?
Did you goto that Trailer at the Anti Mall?
Nope.
Sell all your records... invest in real estate... women dont like it if they will see your records lol
Nah, it's the perfect hobby to fend off money grubbing gold diggers! 😉😅
