Little tip for your viewers ~ When creating a custom checkbox field, the values need to be set as "true" and "false", it seems, no uppercase. This is the only thing that I got stuck on for a bit.

Hey Mike, say you have a couple of different forms on your site (as in a contact form and a seperate lead magnet resource opt-in), and you'd like each one to give a unique tag to the user when submitted, so I know which form they used to sign up, is this possible with Mailchimp?
@@FromTheDeep2481 Yes, just copy the hidden tags field to the first form, then go through the Mailchimp process and select your tag for the second form, and copy the hidden tags field for the second form
This is so useful Thank you! I have a question though, why is it not working for me when I do a select field and use the MC tags on each field? It's giving a success message but the data isn't being shared to MC... I tried it with radio buttons too. Do I have to put each radio button in an embed field with that merge tag?
Fingers crossed this works for me, I was trying a logic flow with an API key and doesn't seem to work, trying now!
Hello @mikepecha, great video, is there a possibility to add the user with tag on mailchimp, who has submitted the form without having to create a custom field necessarily?
For example, keep the custom fields with only Name, Surname, email, and automatically once they submit the form, a tag "Fitness" is assigned to them, in order to keep the signup form as much simple as possible?

Hi! No, that is not possible. If you want to Tag a new signup you have to add the custom input field with the tag. (But you can hide this field so the user does not sett it.)

Do you know how to do with the GDPR fields ? I've added the custom code from mailchimp, I can check the checkbox, but when I come back to my settings, the checkbox is not checked

Hi, where did you add the checkbox?
In case someone has the same issue: You can only get the data from the fields that you've set up in the initial embed form. So if you haven't set up First Name for example, Mailchimp is not going to save this information.

Thanks Mike, this is such a helpful video. I have question if I may, I have three ebooks on my website (lets call then Branding, Naming & Strategy). I have set the three tags in Mailchimp to Branding, Naming & Strategy on the embedded signup form. When the user completes the 'Branding' form on my website she gets emailed the 'Branding' ebook.
However, it seems I have to add add three tags to the Mailchimp signup form, which results in the situation where even if the site visitor only completes the 'Branding' form, they get all three tags assigned top their contact. I would like a solution where a Branding customer is assigned only the Branding tag, the Naming customer is assigned only the Naming tag etc...
Perhaps this requires Make or Zapier, (or I need three separate embedded forms in Mailchimp?)

Hey Mike, great tutorial! I wanted to add a checkbox inside my contact form that will allow users to sign up to the newsletter by simply checking the box inside the contract form. Do you know how to do it?
Yes, you can do that. Many ways to achieve it here are two options:
1. Custom JavaScript which checks if the box is checked, and based on that submit the data to your newsletter tool.
2. With Webflow Logic, where you would also test if the box is checked and based on that submit the data to your newsletter tool

hello, thanks for the video, super helpful. im encountering though some issues if anyone can help. when i check mailchimp for the submissions. all the fields are empty but the email adress, i have checked the name tags and eeverything seems to be correct. what could be the issue?

Kann ich den value im Custom Code auf einem CMS item mit deinem dynamischen Value versehen z.B. Im CMS „Tag“ wo dann Editoren den Zahlenwert vom Tag eintragen können?
Oder geht das auch unkomplizierter, dass man dynamisch Tags ändern kann, je nachdem auf welcher cms Unterseite man siCH befindet?

Hi Tim, wenn es immer nur ein Tag ist könntest du das zB mit dem Feld + Zahlenwert machen. Oder per Reference field, wo du dann eine separate CMS Collection hast die heißt dann zB "Mailchimp Tags", der Name ist dann der Tagname, und dann hast du darin noch ein Extra feld "Zahlenwert", und dann kannst du diese Tags immer auswählen.
Bei mehreren Tags wird es dann schon etwas schwiergier, aber mit ein paar Zeilen Cusotm Code auch kein problem.

Mein Problem: selbst wenn ich aus dem eingebetteten Formular den gesamten Code raus kopiere und ich meiner Website einpflege (und nur ein Tag ausgewählt habe), Publishe und teste, wird der neue subscriber zwar angelegt aber mit ALLEN Tags die ich für die Zielgruppe erstellt habe 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ ich raffe es nicht und der Support ist mir keine Hilfe 😂
Hi Mike. Thanks so much for the clear tutorial on connecting MailChimp & Webflow. For some reason, when I use an embed MailChimp form using a Webflow form, the test email address that I am using doesn't receive the MailChimp confirmation email.
I have authenticated MailChimp in my domain provider, but users still don't receive the email from MailChimp which asks them to confirm their email address. Any idea why this might be the case?

Does mailchimp allow you to send an email to your personal o company email, after the user submit the data and at the same time send to the user a "confirmation email" to let the user know their data hast been received?
I don't know. But maybe you can set up an automation with Zapier or Make do achieve this
Your tutorial is great but I've got an issue: after pressing the button "subscribe" Webflow send me a message "Oops! Something went wrong while submitting the form." I don't know where the problem is.

How do you solve the GDPR compliance problem when building Webflow websites for EU clients?
You could use make.com or formspark.io to accept form submissions to be on the safe side. Both are EU companies with EU-based servers.
@@mikepecha Alright, still will not be 100% compliant. Because hosting is on US servers. But it's a ok solution., hope I will not have problems.
I will try and add a cookie consent and if necessary a privacy policy on top of those form submissions. And with that I just hope that everything will be ok.
Is there a way to receive an email of all the datas submitted ?

Yes, you can do that. An easy way to do it is to set up the form as a native Webflow form, so that you receive the standard form notifications from Webflow, and then do the Mailchimp submission with JavaScript. This way both things would work in parallel 👍

Curious where you are getting the "Yes. I accept the terms" check box Not sure if that is my issue.
In your project settings, check if you have reCaptcha enabled. If yes this could cause the error.
I do have reCapcha enabled on another different form on the site. Will turn it off and see what happens and report back.
@@stevecahill9106 Then this is the reason why its not working. If you enable reCaptcha for a Webflow project, every form needs a reCaptcha field.
@@mikepecha so I can put reCapcha on the MailChimp form and all should be fine. Will report back.
Keeping the reCaptcha on all the other forms (2) then placing a 3rd on the MailChimp form did not work. Same Error message. will disable all then try again and report. Console msg: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()

@@cristianonascimento9089you can set a notification email inside mailchimp. Everytime someone signs up, you'll receive an email.
