Holy Crap, Fear and Loathing was what I was thinking of too! Please don't tell me that means I am "an older adult!" I don't want to me older or an adult!!!
I feel old yet strangely relevent... I realised it was Fear and Loathing, but also know that Bat Country is a A7X banger based on Fear and Loathing (I read the latter. The song is easier to comprehend!)
I get Kodak 5219 (500T) and others for $110 per 100' roll, so $6.12 per 36exp. Then Jobo makes ECN-2 brain simple and reliable. Even without rotary processor, I have a lab that does ECN-2 for $10/roll. I get that bulk loading is a pita, but the reward for that effort is sooo much higher than it used to be. It's been two full years since my last bulk session and I still have at least another year of color film in the freezer. Regardless, still glad to see other sellers taking the place of sleazy Cinestill.
Yeah, the fact that they did really just respool and repackage a film doesn't justify me spending $14 on it, not to mention the >$20 for CineStill that really only has the Remjet removed. _Five_ (!!!) rolls of CineStill already equal 30 meters of Vision3, and the stuff you need to remove the Remjet is very cheap. The only difference is you don't get halation, except if you have a darkroom available so you can remove the Remjet before respooling instead of before developing. If you develop at home, you already have C41 chemicals anyway - or you buy an ECN-2 kit and don't even have to mix your own reusable Remjet removal solution because the kit has a one-shot version included.
If I had to make a guess what the desaturated mystery one is, the washed out colors remind me of ORWO's color film stock that went into production a few months ago.
Avenged Sevenfold's Bat Country itself is a reference to Terry Gilliam's Hunter S. Thompson book adaptation. I'm assuming the name of the stock suggest a rather psychedelic color palette? “We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.”
It's not, I've bought remjet-free 200t Kodak cine stock before. Still have some in the freezer. It came labeled as 320t, you can find it like that of you look around. Many sellers don't advertise it, but can sell it if you ask them, look for the ones that sell Hitchcock or Nolan branded cine film (those brands have the remjet on them, but the distributors have access to the remjet-free rolls.
I constantly come back to your channel when I need an analogue fix, love your takes, and your content. Thank you for being a down to earth film photography content creator. Keep it comin' Sir
This is a great idea! So many knockoffs these days where people think it's a legitimate new film! Thinking I'll touch base on this in a future video! Can't wait to see you rip some of these bad boys!
Not sure where you are, but the USD prices for the 700S on his website are slightly lower than the going rate for the brand with the lawyers. Shipping from Australia is probably more than the film, though. I'm betting that local stores start carrying it, though
Great Video! As an older adult, Bat country to me would be a reference to Fear and Loathing. Nice that different generations can share a reference.

My generation is going to think Avenged sevenfold! That song was everywhere when I was in HS. I had no idea the original reference!
@@Overexposed1yeah A7X was the first thing I thought when I saw bat country x)
Agreed, especially when he says we get high on our own supply. Gotta be Fear & Loathing

Well, if they don't sue everyone on earth who dares remove any remjet, they already are far above cinestill

“Friends, Colleagues, Lovers.” - Mark Antony, probably (?)
You put out the content, you get the stuff you like. The Internet is a fun place sometimes, who knew?
Nice I think its first time Vision 200t is made into remjet-free version

Great video, thanks!
So wild you put this up, but i just came across Mr. Negative few days ago. Super looking forward to Bat Country 400T. F Cinestill.
Definitely going to give this company a go considering his store is local
6:41 You’re a brave man for saying that.
If I don’t release videos for a few weeks you know what happened.
@@Overexposed1 Haha I’ll contact the best lawyer then
Still too expensive. Sticking to Fomapan for the time being.
But does Formapan do Cinefilm? Cheaper than buying other Kodak Films.

i am so intrigued on this film. i have about $400 worth of goodies just sitting in my cart waiting for the trigger to be pulled hahah
Probably won’t be ordering film from down under but at least they are creative with the film names instead of just straight up copying someone else.
So sad that they dont do shippings to LATAM :c
Unboxing Girlie: The Shequel
here's the edited thumbnail caption: Better Still than CineStill?
It’s a great collection! Dreading the prices.

Great video man, have you ever try dubblefilm cinema 800? you should!!
Love your videos my man.
