Despite this, the CPU's always managed to stay close, until they came so close that the collision was enabled for them again and they immediately got bodied by the traffic, just to rubberband their way back to another short-lasting first place.

Imagine you did so good on the previous two tracks, on the road to 3 stars, then this happens. Not even the next course can make up for the amount of drawbacks.
I love how after Daisy falls the second time she is screaming “WHYYYYY?!” as opposed to the first time where there is no audio during the fall - made it look like Daisy still had a sliver of hope even after the first fall that she at least wouldn’t be in 12th and lost even that after the bullet hit her.

yea I avoided inside drifting bikes like the flame runner and mach bike like the plague because I was so used to the "normal" drift, but now I've learned why they're the best vehicles in the game and inside drift is definitely worth the learning curve. it makes the game that much more fun when using it! very sad that later mario kart games never brought it back.
