As a native German speaker I suggest: Give a f... to Heidegger and his intranslateable terms. The way you use 'Umwelt' you can as well use 'world view' or 'world model'. The semantically exact translation for Umwelt is 'surrounding'. The literal one would be 'world around'. I have never agreed to a German word used in a philosophical context in another language. Nothing special with German. Nichts!
