I read a comment here that was a semi-spoiler, which was Phos becoming human. God- I am so slow to realize this, but, the manga creator is a talented genius. The fact they chose gems that are immortal and easily repairable makes the visuals for becoming more and more human amazing! Phos goes from a solid Phosphophyllite to a combination of Phosphophyllite, Quartz(?), Gold, and Lapis Lazuli. The literal changes of them turning into a different gem- or- a different being I suppose is an amazing metaphor for the complexity of a human! Nobody has a one dimension personality, everyone has many layers of uniqueness to them that makes us all so complicated and interesting- which is why I love these details this creator has added! This is one of the reasons why Houseki No Kuni is brilliant and should get all the praise it can get. Thank you, Misaki-chi, for this amazing animatic to bring me to this realization.
