Nice review mate. I have the old 4500h and it’s landed me some trophy fish and is still going like the day I bought it. I’ve lost it on the bottom of the ocean out of the yak twice as well. A quick service after those incidents and it’s still good
Hi. I basically have the entire BG series and looking to upgrade to the saltist range. If i have to compare my BG6500 to the S 6500 except for the cosmetic and the better magseal. Is the real smoothness the same, stronger reeling power?
Can the reel be serviced by agents only or can the magnetic fluid be purchased so anglers can perform own maintenance? Daiwa MagSeal is a great concept but not great if cannot be maintained.

Saltist is a couple of steps up on the Nero, suited for Saltwater
Question is there a Daiwa BG that is magsealed also?
Yes, the BG Magseal comes with one Magseal bearing

Gavin Russell,
The magnetic oil can be purchased online as well as Ebay. The stuff is expensive.
this reel is completely sealed?
comparable to the Penn slammer 3?
Will you guys get the saltist LTD
What would a service for that reel cost? I heard that special oil costs a load of money
