    The worst case is when your parents are stuck with the non-sense of "it'll go away when you grow up"
    No the hell it won't. I'm getting a treatment for it when I grow up and become and adult

    • @SweatyJen
      @SweatyJen  4 года назад +2

      My parents said this to me a lot growing up, too. I completely sympathize with your situation :(
      I think a lot of times parents don't know how to help, so they give up and just hope that it goes away, but it doesn't.
      Bobby, is there a way you can try out a treatment like Carpe (www.mycarpe.com) or go see a doctor again soon? Living with hyperhidrosis untreated is so tiresome! I didn't seek help as an adult until I was 26 years old, but I wish I had sooner.
      I'm glad you found my channel, and remember you aren't alone Bobby. Best of luck to you, I'm here if you need to talk/rant!

    I Suffer from HH, and you’re very brave for sharing. I reckon the best way to go is to open up about your condition. If a date opened up to me about her having IBS for example, I would try to work around that with her. All the best to you stay strong

      Hey thanks so much! I think opening up is very helpful in many circumstances, but it can also be scary! You're very kind for having the position of being helpful and working around conditions, some people would not be like that :)
      Hope you stay strong too and thanks again for stopping by! Hope to see you again soon :)

    I really appreciated this video and your tips! It's just the positivity and useful advice I needed in this moment.
    We're in quarantine so a lot of burden was taken off my shoulders since my major problems were school and my courses. However, my hyperhidrosis is severe (yet, undiagnosed, as my parent's don't take it seriously and won't take me to any dermatologist). As an artist I feel extremely conscious and stressed all the time, since my materials are constantly being damaged by my sweat (such as my embroidery needles, all of them became helplessly rusty) and I'm constantly kept from practicing my skills. Although I don't let my condition limit me too much, I still feel I'm missing out on my true capacity and that's frustrating as hell

    Good video! I agree with the positive attitude. It's easy to get trapped in the negative thoughts but it helps to focus on the positive things about ourselves.
    Excusing yourself also helps especially if it starts getting bad. I used to be in teaching and I can remember a couple times where I was in class and it started to get so bad that I was having a panic attack. At those times I just excused myself to go to the bathroom and calm down for a few minutes and that helps reset and break the cycle.
    I agree, online support helps also. I've made friends through mutual interests as well as work by interacting with people online where you don't have to worry even if you are sweating a lot.
    I like how you mentioned that most of the people on the dates didn't mind and some even liked it! And those who don't like it, well they are not the ones you want to hang out with anyway :)

    Omg thank you so much for sharing! I thought that I am the only person dealing with this problem. Cause of this I am really insecure person. The worst thing was that I was so ashamed talking about HH, even with my parents (I haven't told them yet) and now I know that I am not alone.. again, thank you so much, it helped me so much.

    Thanks for making this. It's easy to feel alone in this, I need to keep reminding myself that other people also suffer with fear of getting rejected because of hyperhidrosis. Have you ever met others with this condition in real life?

    • @SweatyJen
      @SweatyJen  5 лет назад +2

      I am so happy that my video could help make you feel less alone, it is SO EASY to feel like an alien dealing with this condition.
      I have never met someone who has severe hyperhidrosis in real life, it would be very interesting to sit down and talk with someone in-person who understands the struggle. I think that's partially why it's so easy to feel alone with HH... because we become so good at hiding it that we oftentimes do not notice/realize when someone close to us has it as well!
      How about you?
      Thank you for taking the time to watch my video!

      @@SweatyJen just after I did my botox injections (hands) three months ago, a woman approached me. Turns out we were in the same HH-support group and we booked the same day and she recognized me so she went for it. Thrilled with excitement we shared some stories but unforturnately we could only talk for a couple of minutes before she had her appointment. It felt so unreal to actually meet someone face to face that could relate to the daily struggles of hyperhidrosis.
      Subbed, will watch your other videos and support you on your journey. Cheers!

      That is awesome that you were able to discuss some struggles about HH with someone in real life! I hope to do the same, someday! Thank you for your support and comments, both mean so much to me! I hope you are having a lovely start to your week N :)

    I also suffer from hh mainly in my hands and feet but whenever I m drunk the sweating stops completely or partially .. So now I m drunk like every day . I never cared about people opinions but it made me grow socially distant from people and an introvert tbh . I really wanted to learn guitar even I purchased it a few years back only to find its was a complete waste of money

    Great video yet again! I like sneaking in your videos when I have the time, it’s one of the fun things I can do while I’m unwinding.
    Interesting point with the girls being more judgmental about the sweating. I think that I have had the opposite happen because my girl friends are much more close to me, so less likely to judge. I have a more casual guy friends so I get more judgement from them just numbers wise I think.

      Violet, that is so awesome to me that you watch my videos to unwind. I'm so glad! I hope you're having a nice start to the weekend :)
      I think it is interesting you experienced the opposite. Perhaps it's possible that the closeness of the relationship is what determines the reaction to our HH, not the gender of the person!
      I appreciate you sharing part of your own experience so I can broaden my own perception!
      Thank you for your kind comment, it means so much ♡
