@GodSake Blake it's a type of chocolate bar we get in Britain :) messy things, they're made out of a thin roll of chocolate wrapped up to look like tissue and they crumble everywhere! Really delicious tho 😂

We have the most fabulous version of a sausage roll in Texas, thanks to our significant number of Czech immigrants. Long ago they introduced us to kolaches, and they're sooo good! They mostly are sausage or bacon, sometimes with eggs, maybe cheese, wrapped in the softest bread. But so delicious! There are also fruit kolaches and they're wonderful as well. There's a town outside of Waco, on the highway that leads to Dallas. It's called West, Texas. Mostly Czech families. Very nice people. They have these bakeries full of kolaches and other tasteful delights we would never have heard of. Czechs rock, and we're glad you're here!!!

Those closest thing I've had is a kolache in West, Texas.
Yes mate!!! When I lived in Waco I worked in the ER, then on the side I was a pediatric nurse that went to homes. My little patient in West was ONE block from the big bakery on I-35. I went there on my way every single time. My little girl I saw was on life support so I didn't always get to eat them warm but that's what microwaves are for! Yum! I posted about Wests Kolaches, too.

lol this reminds me when I lived in Britain for nearly ten years. I would have to check all the shops whilst on holiday looking for American salt water taffy. Unfortunately I wasn't as lucky as you, and never found any. Great fun looking though! :)

Saltwater taffy was invented in the east coast of Canada. So to call it "American salt water taffy" is a misnomer.

Their version of a pie is usually filled with fruit. Ergh. Lol. Meat pies and sausage rolls and that are almost unheard of there. Which is odd since their version of sausage is minced meat, which is whats actually in a sausage roll, as opposed to an actual sausage in pastry, which is a link over there i think, and more like a pigs in blankets kinda thing.. meh. I shall keep our nz bakeries with their yummy meaty pastry goodness. Lol
