Back then his family didn't have money for doctor visits, so they just kept it as clean as they could and bandaged, and he lived. That is to say, if you don't lose all of your blood or let your blood get infected, you have a pretty good chance of living through amputation.

I’m watching you do 8-1 and I’m thinking: given that 8-1 and 8-2 fit the themes of the first two worlds, do you think the smb3 devs’ plan originally was to make “dark” versions of levels that would be in the other worlds (a dark underwater level for 8-3, a dark big level for 8-4, etc), but maybe they just ran out of time or space? I’ve never been able to officially confirm this theory anywhere, but it makes sense to me. Thanks and congrats on WR!

Mitch, was watching some of your old videos. You were playing SMB1 with Kosmic and you grabbed the hidden 1-2 power up (flower) a way Kosmic didn’t know was possible lol and it was legendary. Flower Power name very well deserved

Smb3 records are slow because of rng. Just getting no hands alone on a run up to that point is hard enough. If smb3 didn't have such unavoidable rng then it would probably be like other Mario's with flawless runs. The rng is why it's popular and avoided by alot of the runners

What is the purpose of sitting and waiting for the P meter to fully deplete, such as at 6:06? Is this for RNG manipulation? I imagine it's NOT expressly for the purpose of not getting 3 star cards, because even just slowing down will ensure you don't get a star card, so I'm curious to know the reason why the P meter has to be completely empty... and a Google search wasn't very helpful...

You can't use the cloud then as it won't unlock the passage to bowsers castle.
The cloud doesn't work on things like Hammer Bros. and the tank/ship/plane levels.
