2:05 Walt disney actually visited this park, and got his ideas started for the well known disney parks. This park pre dates disney, AND still kept its own lore, un-dinsyfied ,which is the most awesome thing about Efteling.
We have read that he may have visited.
It isn't know if he actually visited but the efteling has said he didn't visit. He was in the netherlands to visit the studio doing the voice overs for disney films and for holiday so efteling denies it. What is true though is that efteling personel has helped eurodisney or Disneyland Paris with the theming to europeanize it.

The park indeed predates disney. it started as a fair ground by nuns.

Did you know that Eftelings Fata Morgana has no computerized animatronics whatsoever. Everything that moves, all the puppets and stuff are driven by an amazing system of wires, gears, cams and pulleys. The system is huge and it's repeating itself. It moves everything at once. The sytem was build by Efteling and they even got a patent on it. knowing that this system is running for almost forty years and never been replaced by computers, makes you realise even more of how amazing this ride is. And how great the effort is to maintain it.
Oh wow, that is incredible! It makes us love the ride even more ♥️
I hope you all had the loveliest time together. I’ve seen many vlogs of people visiting the Efteling but I never see any kids, even though it all feels extra magical at that age!

4:00 let me just say as a dutchie, half of us half this water cave as a core memory cause the animatronics are scary af when you're 6 😂 I remember this fondly now I see it.
Ha, yeah our 4 year old daughter was sacred! But at the same time, kept constantly talking about how good it was 😂
Those are some core memories for those kids. I still remember everytime I went to the Efteling as a kid.

Love the video! Efteling is a big childhood memory for all of us (school trips, family trips etc), I particularly love the winter Efteling! If you ever have the time it is definitely worth a visit :)

11:27 with undisneyfied means also, what you buy is nowhere else for sale.. just here, not in amsterdam or any store outside the park. disneyfigurines are worldwide for sale, this is unique to just here, nowhere else. Blokker, a somewhat of household seller had made a contract to be allowed to sell Efteling Laaf related merchandise.
That’s true. We realised after getting back that we didn’t buy much at all and there are things we want to get on our next trip!

I've been there with my son in june 2023... It's been more than 20y since I went there, my son's first time. He kept on looking around to see everything. Unfortunately we only went for 1 day because it's quite expenive to stay overnight and to go for a second day. One of the attractions he loved the most was the Piranha... Ended up getting out soaking wet

It's nice to see fellow Efteling enthousiast). If I may give you some advice, try visiting the Fata Morgana later on the day, there will be no/ barely any queue ;)

Very cool and interesting place. The entrance was awesome and the rides were nice. The Burgers and Chips looked delicious. The best part was the Bosrijk Village it was amazing. Nice sharing and these are memories to Cherish. One more thing nice to see your Mom...💕😊

Hi guys! FINALLY sat down to watch this first part of your trip and it's amazing!
Even though we couldn't tell what the storyline was, we loved that first dark ride and the themeing throughout the park was beautiful!
The accommodation looked lovely too, nice and spacious and those gifts were a great idea at booking!
Dan has already started looking for prices for us to go somewhen, LOL.

Our understanding of the story for Symbolica (correct is if we are wrong people!) is that your are going for an audience with King Pardulfus and then your visit is hijacked by Pardoes the Jester who takes you on a tour of the castle.
The accommodation was wonderful. So peaceful, the Bosrijk village is amazing.

Great video. As annual passholders, we occasionally visit the park just for the atmosphere. Last weekend, we only did two rides and just enjoyed the nature, had something to eat and left after 7 hours.
Oh wow, it would be amazing to be able to visit that often. The atmosphere is so relaxing!
Your kids will be the _perfect_ age for all the fantasy stuff. If only to be that age again and experience all this with the wonder of a child...

This is the best park around here. I remember going there as a child and they actually had some sort of competition for kids where we had to play games and learn tricks, and I actually won! At night, there was a kids show, and I was made a knight by pardoes himself by sword, it was insane! I remember almost peeing my pants because of my stage fright lol

@@disneyanddaysout it really is a park perfect to be enjoyed by all ages... the only thing i find unfortunate is that the ride that max & moritz replaced was a childhood favourite, the old bobsled coaster 💔 i'll forever miss that

Also if you wanna end your day nice, go the pool of bosrijk. Its very calming after a day in the park! Enjoy your stay!

Were in Efteling for 1 week just weeks ago and it is actually my favourite theme park with Disneyland Paris. My favourite place in Efteling is where the show is Aquanura or my daughter loves that and my absolute favourite attraction is the flying Dutchman. We watched the Caroshow for the first time and found the mega. How many times have you been in the Efteling
It was our first visit, but it certainly won’t be our last! It is an amazing place. We all enjoyed different aspects so have a combination of favourite rides. Caro was fantastic ♥️
It’s the best place isn’t it! I loved the EfTELING magic . It looks a lot warmer then when we went at Easter 😆🍄
It really is magical 🧚🏼 We are already looking to go back, probably for Winter Efteling. It was very warm while we were there, and actually a bit too hot at times!
@@disneyanddaysout yes we said Christmas would be amazing! We went just after Easter which was quite busy but the app helped us loads with the rides! Hoping to stay onsite next time too. 🍄
@happymummyshopper we found that the queues were always shorted than stated in the app, which was great. Did they do any Easter events?
@@disneyanddaysout I don’t think so although our 1st day was the Tuesday after Easter & was alot busier than I was expecting! We found that too with the app, one ride said 40 mins but we were in & off the ride in 15 mins 😂

Some rides are just to good to miss out on. The ultimate classic fairytale experience.
@strategistwang1806 we went for 3 days, with two nights in Bosrijk. It was amazing! Unfortunately Long Neck was having maintenance done.

We were there again 2 weeks ago 9 and 10th of august but first time slept outside of the park resorts
But is was pretty good !

No, we booked and paid for ourselves 🥰 Although we would never say no to a free trip to Efteling 😂
droomvlucht is also a good advice to go in for the kids.
Rollercosters there are also plenty off.
And if you go again. The efteling hotel has some very nice themed bedrooms. with secret doors etc
Thank you for the tips! Secret doors in the hotel sounds so much fun 🤩 we are booked to go back next year, but will be staying in Bosrijk again as it worked so well for us.
If you ever visit the Netherlands again after this and would like to visit a zoo, I can recommend Burgers Zoo in Arnhem. It has an aquarium as well and I think it's a beautiful zoo. Or if you want to visit the south of the country you could go to Gaia Zoo in Kerkrade and maybe stay in Maastricht :)

Gaia is meh to me. Burgers def is the most beautiful one in the Netherlands, followed by Blijdorp I guess..

Never say it is like a mini Disney to a Dutch. It is so more magical. The Efteling cares for the experience of the visitor over your wallet.

@@disneyanddaysout Oh yes, in 1974 there was a huge playground, with merry-go-rounds, slide off etc.. you know those old play equipment, and that mule with the coins was in that playground. Also I loved the diorama with the small trains.
