David Jason, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated British actors of all time. Very few actors can balance comedy and dramatic roles and make it look so effortless as he does.
In what way is he underrated? They don't call him a national British treasure for nothing. He's won awards. People watch shows because he's in it how is that underrated?
@ianlock3313 I think he means as an actor overall like how he didn't go on to do big screen plays like being in big movie budgets he didn't go anywhere apart from TV in England which is nothing wrong but also being underrated

@@dannykay5536 Exactly, I consider him underrated as he's never regarded amongst the great British actors of his generation (Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Helen Mirren, John Cleese etc) which he deserves to be. I am also surprised that he never did any big film roles.
He most certainly is not underrated!! He one of our many national treasures and is a highly rated and skilled actor

Greatest comedy of all time, the episode with the chandeliers is an absolute classic..
one of my favourite details about that scene was just how much was relying on a pitch perfect performance for the shot, if they got it wrong, that was it, no comedic climax, no last episode and without the budget for a second take the show couldn't survive that kind of blow, it would of ended unfinished after just two series.

This programme is so nostalgic to me. Used to watch it all the time as a kid and still love it to this day.

Denis Lill (who played Cassandras Dad) was also in the famous British comedies "Red Dwarf" and "Blackadder".
He was also the visual representation of Batmans original co-creator "Bob Kane" in the first Batman movie from Tim Burton.

@@revived247actually that's where you are wrong. David Jason said himself in an interview on The One Show that originally John Sullivan wanted Jim Broadbent (Slater) to play Del Boy.

I don’t like how this doesn’t show what she’s commentating on. It’s weird. For instance, she mentioned Corrine and practically showed every character, barring her 😂. Literally everything she mentions is never shown on the video
i think it's massively out of sync at the very least, the audio of her talking about david beckham and the footage were pretty far apart, if it's not out of sync then it's just plain confusing as to why you would make a video that way

Thats correct it was one of the xmas specials and was viewed by 24.3 million people on the date above. A british tv audience record for a British sitcom.
My favourite OFAH moment is Del's defeat of Slater at the end of the Class of '62 episode - 'though I do love me the 2 pair poker moment with Boycie and Del featured. Incidentally, I did read a foreword of an Only Fools and Horses book in which Anthony Hopkins claimed he would have liked to have played Delboy. Sounds a bit far-fetched to me, but all things are possible x
Enn Reitel was the original first choice but he turned it down as did Jim Broadbent who went on to play Roy Slater instead.
It DOESN'T hold the record for the highest UK audience. That honour belongs to the 1966 FIFA World Cup Final was an audience of 34 million...

It ran from 1981 (not 1991) to 2003. Pretty basic fact and you messed it up.
Am currently watching the boxsets but after watching The Frog legacy i put on Rock and chips and watching it as a dream sequence. Am going to record them and the episode where Del says about Rodney's been all the things that he isn't.

Leonard Pearce appeared in 3 SERIES of only fools, not seasons. It wasn't filmed in seasons.
Also, every one of these "unheard" of facts is actually well known and very much heard of
And it was Billy Murray, not Bill Murray. He was too busy making Hollywood movies at the time.

They did sing it though, Margate is from their album Job Lot released as a single in 1982.

It is incredibly frustrating and distracting that the “fact” doesn’t match the video we are watching.

Your first fact is wrong. Time On Our Hands was broadcast on 27th December 1996 - not Boxing Day.
Last time I checked granddad died in the early days of filming series 4 and the opening credits were changed 4 times since granddad wasn't on it for the 1st and 2nd episodes of the 4th series

That is incorrect. Infact, the idea for trigger to mistakenly call Rodney 'Dave' initially came from the Del Boy actor himself, Sir David Jason.
It is mentioned in his new memoir book 'Only Fools and Stories' He had come up with the idea and mentioned it to series creator and writer John Sullivan early on while they were filming series one episode one of the show.
He then goes on to say in the book that John loved the idea then "ran with it utterly brilliantly", turning the joke into the long running gag that it was, but dropping it into episodes just often enough so that it wasn't overused, so as to get the perfect payoff with it.
And that is the story of how it came about. So that, infact, IS another fact for you.

My best memory of this show was me and my mate watching the Christmas special where they were dressed as batman & Robin….I nearly pissed my pants! Made it a ritual, now every Christmas to watch that episode, an absolute classic.

The lady who said there mother died when rodney was 16 is a lie because there mother died when rodney was bout 4 or 3 and del boy was about 15 or 16 so the lady doing the facts need to do the research before stating facts
Fact I have never heard of...Grandad died during Season 3...wrong straight away.
Series 1 actually performed poorly and the show came very close to being cancelled.
Yeah, I think season 2 wasn't going to be commissioned, but something happened (can't remember what) so they had to give OFAH a rerun of series one, which was much better received the 2nd time around.
