The ♫ └༼ຈل͜ຈ༽┐♫ O E A E A U I E O E A ♫ └༼ຈل͜ຈ༽┐♫ just hits different
Ore wa kamome ni horetta tasogare oiyaji
Aoi minato wa kamome koishikute
The song is a bit like this i think
I highkey still get emotional over this song. Of course because of nostalgia and it just being beautiful, but also because of how interesting the people of village bridge are. They've had their homes destroyed but didn't become resentful or angry people, they remained kind and welcoming to any trainer who visited. The song mashing up strings with beatboxing just proves how diverse their culture is. Will always love this era of pokemon
I’ve only played Black 2 in the Unova series. When did their homes get destroyed?
@@joshuadull4192 The river beneath it flooded and washed away the houses along its banks. The houses were rebuilt on top of the bridge to prevent the town from being destroyed again.
This was the first Pokemon BGM to have in-game lyrics. And this is the definition of awesome.
for who can't hear well the lyrics

俺はね鴎に惚れた黄昏親父。

俺はね鴎に惚れた黄昏親父。

青い海を眺めては涙、
青い港は鴎飛び去って。
English translation
I am a geezer standing in the dusk, mesmerized by the gulls.
I am a geezer standing in the dusk, mesmerized by the gulls.
I am a geezer standing in the dusk, mesmerized by the gulls.
I am a geezer standing in the dusk, mesmerized by the gulls.
Gazing fixedly into the blue sea, I bemoan with shed tears,
as I yearn for the lovely gulls soaring above the blue harbor.

Crazy how on a less powerful handheld that used MIDI samples they could actually put a vocals tracks in their game but now if a character is shown singing in a cutscene it's done completely mute or it's *non-diegetic Ed Sheeran music*
One of the greatest songs in Pokémon games. If you truly know it you know why.
There are numerous reasons to love this song. For one, the relaxing, lethargic atmosphere this music inspires. Secondly, the incredible complexity of this music with the player being able to add up to 4 different instruments. What specifically were you referring to?
@@gravity1537 The story behind the song... There is a man under the bridge practicing singing in order to serenade the lady he likes and he'll sing for you... i don't even remember if you battle him.

I remember stopping by there for hours just for the music 💕
me too! didn't know why i was so moved by this song even I didn't know the lyrics
There's usually one song from a town from each of the generations up to 5 that just get me crying, but this one hits me the hardest.
this song teached me the power of every instrument in a musical symphonie, from a strong vocalist, over background drumps all the way to the small harmonika, everything has a place in this piece and while they are separetly beautiful music is when these elements come together and create something bigger than the sum of its parts, this was, and still is, the reason i persuit a musical career originally and while i now work in a different field my love to music has no wavered and i still come listeneing to this song in particular for motivation and happines simply because my grandma bought me pokemon black 2 to my 11th birthday
Here because well I used to listen to that one Pokémon playlist. This song struck me as weird at first but it always relieved me weirdly enough. Now that I get those small sudden panic/depressed moments, this will help I think.
Love this song, I just stand on this bridge for hours!

but seriously this song is way too nostalgic and emotional for me NOT stop in the town just to listen to the music.
This song represents a mix of different cultures and musical genres and I guess the hidden/implied lyrics make it clear. Not only are they beautiful, they seem to closely follow the musical notes phonetically, especially regarding fixed Do solfege. Notable exemples include "ore wa" sang on C-D-F=Do-Re-Fa, and "tasogare" on A-G-F-D=La-Sol-Fa-Re. The lyrics cannot stick to that principle at 100% but if you listen carefully, you will notice that they do it often enough that it is likely not a coincidence.
I love this song, I think it's supposed to be the combination of cultures into one song, just like Unova (or New York)
Hate on gen 5 all u want we can agree this song is the best town theme in all of Pokemon
Well not best for me, but definitely top 3. I prefer Driftveil and Stow-on-Side over this.
@@NeoArashi thats fine
It’s technically a bridge theme, but a fine one for a place based on the Robert F. Kennedy Sr. Bridge in New York City.
I love my man saying the good old ooooooo iiiiiiiiii aaaaaaaaaaa
brings me back to when life was easier
Masterpiece... Masterpiece... The music isn't bad, just nostalgic, but it brings tears to my eyes...
I cry everytime I hear this song.
