people speculated that the brand was murad and i tried one of their SA washes (recommended by a sephora employee who probably was pushed to recommend it) it costed a TON and literally is the only cleanser ive tried that caused my skin to PEEL. ive never used Murad again and never want to i just cannot trust the brand. the cerave cleaner never cause any sort of peeling in any capacity. my skin was literally scaly shedding. horrible.

@@mundain8818 Make sure you use a cruelty free brand. Animals shouldn't suffer just so someone can have a decent looking face. There are a lot of cruelty free products these days so there isn't an excuse to support an abusive brand unless you have some type of medical condition and there isn't an alternative.
@@mundain8818have you reached out to them? The owner/founder of the brand seems to be a lovely man. Just because you reacted to said product, doesn’t mean it’s bad. There could be many reasons for what happened to you.

I love browsing Olive Young and the other good skincare and makeup sites. When I find myself putting things in my cart I pause, and check my current stuff. If I own a comparable item and it isnt nearly empty I dont buy it. It's tough sometimes, but limiting my shopping to every few months has helped curb my over shopping a lot. Also, thank you for your always thoughtful suggestions and commentary.
I always have to restrain and question myself whether I can realistically use all vs stocking up before they expire or I likely will have a minisephora in my bathroom. Thanks for bringing that up! Always a good reminder for financial planning
Korean Cleansing water are my new obsession so light and leaves my skin so fresh !

The skin softening serum from Numbuzin is absolutely amazing, probably the favorite part of my night time skincare (coming from someone who has extremely larged pore due to my oily t-zone and rosacea)
could you make a video on your favorite/ the best products for dry, dehydrated, really bad acne skin? ❤️
If you’re looking for choices on Olive Young, these worked for me and I have the same skin concerns. Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser, throughly cleans without drying out my skin. For toner, Purito Wonder Relief Centella Toner Unscented, but if I have time to use toner pads I use the Mediheal tea tree pads instead. Both great for acne riddled skin. Don’t use both at the same time! If you want to use one at night and one in morning that’s fine, just not back to back because it burns my face to red if I do. Cosrx pimple patches go on now, if using them. First patches to see a difference for me. After this, I only use Vitamin C serum, and I use the Mediheal one. For moisturizer, Dr. G red blemish clear soothing cream. So far, been using these for five months and it’s treated my acne without drying, irritating, or flaking my dry skin nor greasing up my face and adding pimples. Insane turnover for me, but everyone is different take with a grain of salt.

For people wondering why Korean brands doing clinical tests and posting claims, it's not only for marketing purpposes. Recently, they are required by the regulations to include those kinds of test when they want to make certain claims like "hydrating", "brightening", etc. So those studies/tests are legit ^^
Bruh it’s already hard enough to get my hands on the fwee pudding pots without them going viral in the west too!! Also, if ur new to olive young they have CRAZY in-app sales at least once every 3 months and I’d highly recommend waiting for one of those to try stuff out. There is zero reason to buy anything off that website, that isn’t a special edition with gift, at full price. And bonus rec, coming from someone who has been here since etude was etude house, the brand Clio has literally never made a bad product ever and their liners are especially life changing.
Omg I Etude House 😭 when I first got into kbeauty, Etude House, Nature Republic and Tony Moly were like the biggest brands. I only got into kbeauty because EXO were the face of Nature republic at the time 😭
@@JamesWelsh ah I was the opposite! I have very pale olive skin and when I was getting into makeup, around 12 years ago, Korean bb creams were the only affordable products that matched my skin tone. I didn’t get into K-pop until IZONE/IVE and their many brand deals and my big fat lesbian crush on Wonyoung. Thank you for talking about kbeauty! The more big western influencers like you promote it, the more widely available the products will become!

I’m not bothered by hauls at all. I would never have gotten into K-skincare without hearing about it from you. The stuff I have is so much better than drugstore things I’ve been using.
Love this kind of video. I just bought the Sungboon Editor serum as well and look forward to trying it out. I would love to test out the Bringgreen artemisia line as well, as I tried their sheet mask and loved how calming it was.

I love toner pads 😅 i use them a lot and it really helps me get any extra residue that ended up in my hairline from after cleansing lol 😂
I find a lot of the time I get "travel size" items because I know myself and I have a hard time finishing most full size items before they're expired (it's not an "out of sight, out of mind" thing, I just have to remember some things that should be normal because of my ADHD) which has made me VERY conscious of my own consumption. It also comes in handy when I do travel, because I don't need to buy small versions.
I love that you mentioned over consumption. I would not say I do not partake in over consumption because of influencers. I just love trying out skincare and makeup products. I consider it a hobby of mine and it makes me happy! So, anyways… I am so happy you mentioned donating skincare products to women’s shelters, and other places.
Wonderful idea from time I have products sit around for a few months. I may have bought them not realizing it was not appropriate for my skintype. I have also bout a product that I thought it was one thing, but ended up being something thing that won’t work for me and is too late to return.
I think giving them to a woman shelter will make me not feel so bad and wasteful. I like giving them to friends and coworkers, but giving them to someone in need is amazing. Thank you.

Great video. I'm about to go to Korea and was looking for some Olive Young recommendations, since I plan on doing some in-person shopping while I'm there. I mostly shop on Stylevana, since their online prices seem to be a bit lower for the things I buy regularly, but from your video it looks like O&Y has some good deals on products that are not as well-known outside Korea.
FYI, I was amused by the ad slogan on the top of the foot kit that seems to translate as "as you sow, so shall you reap." 😂

I love Olive Young! On my last purchase I swear I received as many freebies as things I paid for.
I really like Olive young, but I wish they would sort out import taxes... I always have to pay a huge amount of money just for import taxes, which makes it an overall very expensive purchase. That's why I usually opt out for alternatives 😢. (Live in an EU country)
So I’ve only ever had to pay that once in the 3 years I’ve been shopping there but I think I’ve just been lucky! I was doing some shopping on there last night for a it’s for friend and family, and because I’m in the UK, the capped my basket at £130 and said it was because of import tax reasons? So I don’t know if this means you won’t have to pay import taxes / as much?!
@@JamesWelsh Hmmm maybe it's Austria then. They've really overhauled the whole customs aspect some years ago and been really strict. I have made a couple of purchases (because sometimes I can only get them in Olive Young), all under 100€ because I wouldn't be able to afford the customs and I always had to pay at least 20-50€ just on customs 🥲🥲🥲🥲

Numbuzin pantothenic B5 serum and moisturizer are my skin saver. It gets rid my acne and acne scars, my cheek feels smoother and plumpy. Once I over exfoliated my skin. It’s burning my skin, redness and breakout. I applied few layers of numbuzin pantothenic moisturizer. The next day it healed and the breakout dissapeared

Honestly, as a regular person, that’s what I do as well. Buy enough skin care to last 6 months. Also I buy with the intent to USE it all before it goes bad. It’s taken a while, but I buy: 2 cleansers, 2-3 serums and maybe 2 moisturizers/toners. That seems to be the right amount!

For toner pad you can store them upside down, this way the pad on top is always the one soaked in toner

I saw one of your recent videos where you recomended an eye serum with a stainless steel roller, it had peptides and collogen.. it literally looked amazing, i went a found it had fragrance which i am sensitive to so went on a mission to find an alternative. I found one from shimoment, its an eye lifting roller, i have been trying to for a month and it is amazing! I think you should give it a go x

im using the numbuzin no.3 skin softening serum and i get the hype, i was suspicious about it at first cuz of the lowkey kinda strange scent and how it kinda makes the skin around my lips tingle but damn, the morning after i applied it during PM, my skin is noticeably smoother than if i didnt apply it (tmi but my skin gets crustyyyyy asf for no reason in the morning), i really like it, and i will def be repurchasing when im done with my bottle

My skin responds to PHA and LHA so much more than BHA or AHA exfoliants, I have no idea why. I'm in love with the two products that I buy on repeat, I'm not saying which because I'm selfish - no one else buy them or it will be harder for me to find lol. I wish there were more Western products that included these ingredients.

The Perfect Whip cleanser actually feels very nice using it but it did dry my skin a lot so not a daily cleanser for me.

my skin is nice naturally and I bought products since i wanted a skincare routine and my skin despised everything i bought... so now I only do cleanser, hydrating toner, moisturizer, and spf. I think a lot of people overload their skin with different products to fit in with the 10000 step skin care routines they see online.

Hey, just before I place my order, can you recommend something for under eye bags?
I'm very, very new to any sort of skin care, but at 41, just beginning to see some lines and getting dark spots, I figured it's time to do some tests. I watched your videos and some others before starting as I've noticed some differences in my skin and what it will tolerate with ageing, illness, and medicines. Learning about different ingredients from someone with similar skin has been a great help so far, so thank you!
I ended up getting the MEDIHEAL Retinol Collagen Eye Ampoule Patch 60P, so we'll see whether they help.

I tried the VT Reedle shot but not from your link sorry as I didn't want any import charges plus I wanted to try before I bought so I purchased the trial pack and I love it!
It does feel like tint pieces of glass in you skin but it's not painful just unusual.
My skin was glowing the morning after using and I will definitely be buying the full size.

@@JamesWelsh I normally don't buy from StyleKorean because they ship by DHL to Canada and I always have to pay import charges. I got your VT box because I thought it would still be worth it. It was even though I had to pay $12.35 delivery plus $25 import fees. In future though I'll stick to Stylevana or YesStyle or Jolse where I don't have to pay import fees.
