- I am opening/unboxing a $50,000 sports card mystery box, with ONLY 1/1s, from my friends over at Whatnot! This package contains tons of basketball, football, and baseball cards (raw & graded) that I have not yet seen. 1/1's are always some of the coolest cards in the hobby, and we thought it would be fun to show what $50k in 1/1's looks like! All of these singles/graded cards will be given away or auctioned off on the Whatnot app. Whatever you guys think is fair will be what the cards go for! Hope to see you in the stream!

Yes people, these were amazing cards, but let's not forget this cost 50k. There was NOT 50k worth of cards here. 30k 35k max maybe, and I honestly think that's being generous.

Kind of a waste of money right? Not that sport cards isn’t a funny hobby, I love it. That being said, these boxes are curated by someone so you are assured of not getting your moneys worth.
Kind of? There is definitely a bit of a dark side to this hobby. Probably no different chemically in the brain than any other gambling addiction.
It’s all 1/1s that no one wants. Whatnot selling these for 50k offloading their L’s, that’s crazy..

Take a minute to realize that most of the cardboard 1 of 1 will be worthless what a joke, get a good down payment on a car or house. I call these Ones of Nothing dont get sucked in to this ripoff.

I don’t think so I was wondering that same thing but after seeing certain cards like that Justin Herbert rookie Nike swish Gold vinyl one of one I realize that’s ridiculous having it be a PSA eight might make it worth less than if it was a RAW card Homeboy may want to crack that slab and I would be considering it but either way as is that cards gotta be worth at least 4 grand

The people at whatnot got it together that just happened to have a lot of panini cards in it. So panini didn't step anything up since they are not the ones selling this box of cards.
Not panini. If you want to get your moneys worth, you buy a box of flawless in a metal case with panini stickers sealing the case

Recently discover your podcast and is enjoying your presentations. Enjoying the reveal in your mystery box 1/1 opening .I have a lot to learn about this collection hobby of cards. You provide quite an insight for new collectors like me. Thank you. My area of interest is mostly Basketball cards and notice the Chris Bosh 1/1 you revealed. As a Heat fan , I would dearly love to have Chris in my collection. Any way , keep up the good work and I shall continue to watch.

It looks like the sports card market has turned into the new stock market. And with everyone saving their cards in protective cases, you are not going to have any scarcity......other then the manufactured scarcity by the card companies with limited runs on certain cards. Vintage would seem to me the way to go if you are getting into this hobby for money. If your collecting for you PC, then these are some cool looking cards to buy. I could never drop thousands on a box. Just insane.
