@nganguyen90 This video was recorded at Wushuguan in Dengfeng/Henan/China only 5-10mins from the shaolin temple. Thoses artists are some students from this school and they have performances everyday.
shaolin used to be a real fighting style ,sadly it turned out to be some performance/ballet art like this and wushu. But i have to say the qi gong part is good ,the rest just modern wushu. Still overeall its good.
If those are real weapons they are using, then one mistake could mean death. I would be afraid to even be in the audience watching! How old is this dance?
Thats not how you think of this. They have amazing performers. They can do amazing athletic feats. But thats just what they are doing in this video. not what they do all the time. When you say that they have become circus performers you make it sounds as if they don't have a culture outside of this. I would imagine they put great effort into everything, from cleaning their gounds, to building their homes, to performing for people.
